Chapter 75: Chapter 075: My Son Is Worth This Price

"Madam, please say something! You should try to persuade Sixth Master too..." Walter Klein, seeing that he couldn’t persuade Adrian Desmond, looked to Sienna Johnson, hoping she would also try to persuade Adrian. However, Sienna’s words only poured fuel on the fire.

"What I just said is exactly what I feel!"

Sienna looked at Walter and said, "You should take him away! Preferably far, far away."

She had her own life that she wanted, and Adrian had his. They were, and always would be, two parallel lines that would never intersect.

This kind of ending is actually quite good, Sienna thought. It’s better to separate before we completely despise each other. At least, I’ll still remember the good things he has done for me.

"Madam!" Walter was furious with Sienna. How could she say such things? Doesn’t she see that Sixth Master is on the verge of losing control?

Adrian looked at Sienna’s cold face and chuckled humorlessly. "Angry words? I think she’s itching to stay."

"Mai, I merely have a fiancée, and you can’t tolerate her. Yet Maxwell Bradford has countless women. Why don’t you find *him* disgusting?"

"Adrian, I don’t care about others, but *you* can’t!" I don’t love Maxwell Bradford in the slightest, so who cares how many women he has? It’s none of my business! Sienna thought.

"Sixth Master, please calm down!"

"Mai, you want to stay? I refuse to let you have your way!" Adrian glared at Sienna, cruelly dashing her hopes.

Adrian stopped looking at Sienna and turned to Maxwell, his demeanor calming somewhat. "I want this woman! Name your price!"

"Alright!"

Maxwell had his men lower their guns. The two men sat down again, ready to begin a new round of negotiations. When Sienna saw the gun in Maxwell’s hand being taken away, she felt a wave of relief wash over her. Her body went limp; if the two bodyguards hadn’t been holding her up, she would have collapsed to the floor.

"Adrian, in negotiations, revealing your bottom line to your opponent is a significant disadvantage..." He wants this woman badly, Maxwell thought, I’ll have to bleed him dry.

"She’s carrying my child. I’ll pay any price!" Adrian stated, his face taut.

Adrian knew his current situation was extremely unfavorable. But he would rather take a bullet from Maxwell than let this woman get what she wanted!

So, she never wants to see me again, is that it?

Fine. I’ll make sure to appear before her every single day. I’ll ensure she *has* to see me every day!

A perverse, secretive joy stirred in Adrian’s heart at the thought.

"What to do? I find myself quite smitten with her as well..." Maxwell had Sienna brought over. He grasped her smooth hand, pulling her down to sit beside him. "Look at this delicate hand, truly beautiful. Just touching it, and I’m already..."

Adrian’s gaze fixed on Maxwell’s hand holding Sienna’s, so intense it seemed he wished to burn a hole right through it.

"Let her go!"

"Oh? Jealous already?" Maxwell mused. He hadn’t expected Adrian to become so enraged merely from him holding Sienna’s hand.

Provoking such anger in Adrian made Maxwell feel years of bottled-up frustration dissipate. Not only did he refuse to release Sienna’s hand, but he also pulled her towards him by the waist. He then pinched her chin and, captivated by her crimson lips, leaned in to kiss her.

The moment their lips brushed, Maxwell felt a sharp pain explode on his head. Adrian had grabbed a nearby vase and smashed it over him.

Blood immediately gushed from Maxwell’s head. Tatu, reacting instantly, saw Maxwell’s men about to open fire. He grabbed a large shard from the broken vase, pressed it against Maxwell’s neck, and bellowed, "Anyone who dares shoot, I’ll kill Maxwell Bradford!"

Adrian seized the chance to pull Sienna into his arms, holding her so tightly it felt as if her bones might shatter.

This was his turf, after all. Even with Tatu holding a shard of porcelain to his neck, Maxwell wasn’t afraid. He laughed and said, "Adrian, relax. I may appreciate beautiful women, but I haven’t reached the point of losing my head over one."

Adrian waved Tatu back. Tatu hesitated. "Sixth Master, if we take him hostage, we can escape!"

Adrian, however, insisted Tatu return. Maxwell touched his neck. It was slightly cut and oozing a little blood, but it was nothing serious.

"Boss, should we get a doctor to bandage that for you?"

Maxwell waved dismissively. "It’s fine, just a scratch."

With Sienna by his side, Adrian finally felt composed enough to speak calmly. "Name your price."

"Very well! I want passage rights through the Amwaka Strait!"

Walter and Tatu were aghast. Adrian’s convoys had free passage through the Amwaka Strait—a privilege obtained only because Adrian’s own sister had married a prince of Abyanabad, making it nearly impossible for anyone else to secure.

"Done!" Adrian agreed readily.

Tatu started to object, but Walter stopped him. This was not their place to speak. Though Sixth Master can be impulsive where Sienna is concerned, he isn’t brainless. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have built such an empire at his age, Walter mused.

Maxwell hadn’t expected Adrian to agree so readily either; he had assumed Adrian would refuse. His gaze fell on Sienna, who kept her head bowed. She is indeed beautiful, Maxwell thought, but for a man to yield so easily for a mere woman...

"Heh... Adrian, I never took you for such a man of grand passions. To think you’d disregard everything... and for a *man*, no less."

"What choice do I have? She’s carrying my child, after all." Seeing Maxwell staring at Sienna, Adrian pulled her possessively into his embrace. Sienna could hear Adrian’s heart pounding powerfully against her.

That look on Adrian’s face, so possessive it seemed he wanted to wrap Sienna from head to toe to prevent any other man from even glimpsing her, finally made Maxwell willing to return her.

A femme fatale indeed, Maxwell mused. With such a woman capable of captivating Adrian’s heart by his side, he’ll finally have a weakness.

"I also want all the ocean-going vessels of the Verita Group!"

"Done!"

Walter couldn’t hold back any longer. "Sixth Master, how can you agree to that?!"

The Verita Group had over 500 cargo ships, including 168 large-tonnage ocean-going vessels. This massive transport fleet guaranteed a constant influx of funds for the Desmond Family. And now, it’s all going to Maxwell... Walter despaired.

"Adrian, have you truly thought this through?" Maxwell still found it hard to believe Adrian would be so extravagant; this was no small sum.

"My son is worth this price!"

Seeing Adrian wasn’t joking, Maxwell’s expression turned serious. "And on top of that, my son!"

"No problem!"

Maxwell had his secretary quickly draft the documents and asked Adrian to sign the share transfer agreement. Adrian read through the agreement but didn’t sign immediately.

Maxwell asked, "What’s wrong? Regretting it already?"
