Chapter 59 - 059: Mental Problems

Chapter 59: Chapter 059: Mental Problems

Adrian Desmond felt irritated. He desperately wanted to smoke, but his cigarette case was empty, leaving only an ashtray overflowing with cigarette butts.

"Sixth Brother, say something..."

"No need to call for help!"

Melanie Carpenter couldn’t believe Adrian Desmond would refuse and asked, "Why?"

"She’s too smart and always causing me trouble. If she really went crazy, I’d actually be relieved... Let’s leave it at that!"

If Sienna Johnson were truly insane, Adrian Desmond wouldn’t have her treated. Whether Sienna Johnson was normal or had lost her mind, he would take care of her for the rest of her life.

He just needed her to stay obediently by his side; that would be enough.

Melanie Carpenter still wanted to persuade, but Selena Robertson burst in, panicking, "Sixth Master, it’s bad! Mai is missing."

Adrian Desmond shot to his feet, grinding his teeth. "She dares to run away again?!"

Selena Robertson quickly explained, "No, no! Mai is not in her right mind. How could she possibly escape...?"

"If she’s not trying to escape, then how did she go missing?"

"I don’t know. I was applying medicine to her, and halfway through, I stepped out for a moment. When I came back, she was gone."

Walter Klein also walked in, looking worried. He glanced at Selena Robertson and reported, "Sixth Master, Mai has gone to the Snake House again..."

"What?"

"She... she might really have some mental problems... She went there completely naked..." Walter Klein stammered.

Hearing this, Adrian Desmond rushed out immediately.

The Snake House was located in a dark area on the back mountain. It was only about ten square meters and had originally been used to imprison convicts. After Unnamed Island came under Adrian Desmond’s control, this Stone Cottage was completely abandoned.

Adrian Desmond ran, his pace urgent. Along the way, he occasionally saw men with nosebleeds. At first, he found it strange, but then he recalled Walter Klein’s words about Sienna Johnson going out naked. That would explain why those men had nosebleeds; they must have seen something they shouldn’t have.

"All of you, get out!" Adrian Desmond roared.

The men were already feeling guilty, so Adrian Desmond’s roar sent them scattering like frightened birds and beasts.

Adrian Desmond rushed to the Stone Cottage. He saw its door wide open, with snakes slithering out. He strode inside and saw her sitting on the ground, hugging her knees.

She was wearing nothing—not a single piece of clothing. Thus, Adrian Desmond could see all the injuries, large and small, covering her body. Just looking at those wounds told him what she must have endured over the past three days.

He didn’t know if it was because of the medicine applied to her body, but the snakes weren’t approaching her. Still, a room full of snakes was terrifying enough.

"Mai!"

Her face was buried between her knees, so he couldn’t see her expression. Sienna Johnson didn’t respond to him. Adrian Desmond placed his hand on her head. Her hair was short and disheveled; at first glance, it was hard to tell if she was male or female.

"Let’s go back. This is not a place for you to stay."

Adrian Desmond took off his own shirt and put it on her. Only then did he get a clear look at Mai’s face. He loved her eyes the most; they always seemed to speak. Even if she said nothing, Adrian Desmond felt he could converse with her through them. But now, her eyes were dead, hollow...

Her physical shell, Mai, was still there, but her soul was lost.

A wave of frustration washed over Adrian Desmond. Seeing her lifeless state, he crushed his lips against hers. Her lips had always been warm, but now they were cold. Adrian Desmond began to suspect that the Mai in front of him was some kind of snake demon; otherwise, why would her whole body be so cold? And where had the warmth in her lips gone...?

He couldn’t accept it. He bit her fiercely, drawing blood. She remained unresponsive, as if dead.

Selena Robertson had followed them. Worried about Mai, she rushed in. Seeing the room full of snakes, she shrieked in terror. Walter Klein, unable to stand it any longer, covered her mouth and dragged her out.

"Shut up!"

"Snakes... So many snakes..." Selena Robertson trembled with fear.

Walter Klein rubbed his temples. Women are such a nuisance, he thought. Ever since these women arrived on the island, there’s been nothing but trouble.

"Stop making noise! If you don’t shut up, I’ll lock you in the Snake House!" Walter Klein threatened.

This threat was terrifyingly effective. Selena Robertson, still shivering, clamped her hand over her mouth, not daring to make another sound.

Adrian Desmond carried Sienna Johnson out of the Snake House. She was quiet in his arms, her expression vacant. She wore his shirt, which was large enough to cover her upper body but left her long, slender legs exposed. Those legs were covered in snakebites.

This punishment... for a woman, it was too much.

Seeing Walter Klein, Adrian Desmond ordered, "Go find a psychiatrist!"

"Yes!"

"The best one!"

"I’ll go right away."

Adrian Desmond carried Sienna Johnson back to his bedroom. People greeted him along the way, but his face was grim, and he ignored them all. Others quickly scurried away, afraid of inviting his wrath.

Selena Robertson, fearless of death, followed them. Adrian Desmond shot her a glare so fierce it nearly made her faint. Mustering her courage, she stammered, "M-Mai... sh-she... d-didn’t... f-finish... the medicine..."

"Give me the medicine!"

"I finished applying it to her legs, but not... not anywhere else..." Selena Robertson said quickly, her head bowed, as she handed the ointment to Adrian Desmond. He took it, and then the door slammed shut and was locked from the inside.

Sienna Johnson lay on the bed, curled up in a fetal position. It is said that people adopt such a posture when they feel utterly insecure.

She must have been truly terrified.

Adrian Desmond removed the shirt from her body, leaving her completely exposed before him. Wounds covered her. He felt a pang of pity but was unwilling to admit he had done anything wrong.

"Let’s see if you dare to be unchaste again!"

His large palms, calloused and radiating heat, touched her cold skin. He remembered how wanton this woman used to be in bed. Her mouth would say no, but with just a few touches from him, her body would heat up on its own.

But now, it was no use.

No matter how he touched her, her body remained cold.

Adrian Desmond refused to accept it. He slammed the ointment down, flipped her over, and pinned her to the bed. He pressed himself against her, unzipping his pants...

Their ’sizes’ were mismatched. Adrian Desmond usually had to engage in considerable foreplay before he could enter her. But not this time.

It was dry, difficult... an arduous path... Adrian Desmond couldn’t stop the guttural sounds, disturbingly sensual, that escaped him.

...

Initially, Adrian Desmond couldn’t stand her lifeless appearance and had wanted to provoke any other expression from her, so he had resorted to this extreme measure. He hadn’t expected to lose himself in the act...

After all, he hadn’t touched her in over a month.

Her essence was exquisite, like a poppy—fragrant yet deadly.

Night had fallen. Adrian Desmond rolled off her, lying beside her, still panting heavily, as if he had just completed a very long marathon.
