Chapter 56: Chapter 056: In This Lifetime, Never Give Up Until Death

Seeing her like this, Adrian suddenly laughed coldly, a hint of irony and mockery in his voice, "Mai, you’ve really opened my eyes today!"

"I’m sorry to disappoint Sixth Master," Sienna replied.

"Where exactly are you dissatisfied with me? I believe I’ve been good enough to you. Yet, you still want to run away!" Adrian demanded.

Sienna remained silent.

"Why?! I’ve never tried so hard to please a woman in my entire life! Mai! What more do you want me to do?" Adrian’s voice suddenly rose, his anger flaring uncontrollably.

Walter saw Adrian losing control and, recognizing this as Adrian’s "family scandal," quickly ushered the unrelated people away, leaving only a few individuals present.

"Sixth Master, perhaps there’s some misunderstanding. Please, calm down," Walter advised.

"Misunderstanding? Walter, do you have any idea what this woman has done? Just moments ago, she intended to join forces with Xavier to kill me! One is my woman, the other is my brother! Yet, these two conspired to kill me!"

What could possibly be more hurtful than this?

Adrian was in so much pain he could barely speak.

What did she expect him to do to earn even a fraction of her true feelings?

Upon hearing this, Walter was astounded. He looked at Sienna and asked, "Did you really say such a thing?"

"Yes," Sienna admitted frankly.

Walter was at a loss for words. In such circumstances, uttering those words was tantamount to seeking death. Or did Sienna believe Adrian wouldn’t dare to kill her?

"How could you say something so reckless!"

Sienna glanced at Adrian, her eyes filled with a desperate, reckless resolve. She was fully aware of the consequences of her outrageous words, yet she had spoken them. As intelligent as Sienna was, she would never have made such an error in the past.

"...I just... I want to go home!"

"This is your home!"

"No..."

Adrian cut her off, stating decisively, "Wherever I am, that is your home!"

Sienna said nothing.

"Mai! Whether you love me or hate me, you will obediently stay by my side for the rest of your life! We... we will not be parted until death!"

Furious, Adrian stormed off. Sienna had braced herself for the worst, but she had still underestimated the depth of Adrian’s rage.

Sienna was locked in a dark, damp room.

Sienna knew of the Stone Cottage; it was rumored to be a place where prisoners were once held. The environment was dim, with only a tiny window allowing a sliver of light. If that were all, Sienna might have found it bearable. However, the room was teeming with snakes—snakes of all kinds, coiling and slithering everywhere...

Sienna was instantly paralyzed by terror and slumped to the ground.

In her entire life, the thing she feared most—above all else—was snakes.

Snakes?!

A snake slithered towards her. Sienna snapped back to her senses, scrambled up, rushed to the door, and began pounding on it, crying out, "There are snakes! Help!"

"Save me... so many snakes..." she wailed, "AHH!"

Adrian stood outside the Stone Cottage, with Walter and Tatu behind him. Walter didn’t know what Adrian was feeling at that moment, but hearing Sienna’s heart-wrenching cries from within, his heart still softened.

Walter pleaded on Sienna’s behalf, "Sixth Master, Sister-in-law is terrified of snakes. Please, let her out. What if she’s frightened out of her wits?"

"If she’s scared witless, I’ll take care of her for the rest of her life!" Adrian retorted cruelly, listening to Sienna’s tragic cries from inside.

"Adrian, I won’t dare! I won’t dare anymore! Please let me out..." Sienna’s voice was hoarse from crying. "AHH!" she screamed, her voice filled with terror and horror.

"Adrian, save me... I won’t dare anymore. I won’t! Please let me out! I’m afraid of snakes! I’m terrified of snakes..."

Eventually, even Tatu couldn’t bear to listen any longer. This form of punishment was crueler than simply shooting Sienna.

"Good that you’re scared. I was worried you weren’t afraid of anything..." Adrian muttered.

Sienna had revealed her fear of snakes to Adrian during a casual conversation, which was why he’d thought of this method to punish her.

Aaron Faber hadn’t even reached the Stone Cottage when he heard Sienna’s hoarse cries, screams of utter terror that made his scalp tingle.

Their life on the island had been peaceful. But since Sienna’s arrival, that peace had vanished. Now, even Xavier Young had been driven off the island.

Beauty truly brings disaster!

Aaron approached, seeing Adrian standing under a tree, staring unblinkingly at the Stone Cottage. Aaron genuinely wanted to persuade Adrian to let Sienna go.

Relationships should be built on mutual affection; otherwise, what’s the point?

However, Adrian was too deeply entangled; he was beyond reason. Letting Sienna go would only happen over Adrian’s dead body.

Walter was the first to spot Aaron. "Where’s Xavier?" he asked.

"Maxwell knocked him unconscious and forcibly took him away."

Xavier had adamantly refused to leave, so Maxwell Young had no choice but to knock him out and remove him by force. Maxwell had left with him.

"Sixth Master, Maxwell has also left. He said that after what Xavier did, he, as Xavier’s older brother, is too ashamed to remain on the island," Aaron relayed.

The three men exchanged glances, their eyes then falling upon Adrian. In truth, Adrian had already shown leniency. Otherwise, with someone daring to make a move involving his woman, how could he have let them get away so easily?

"Adrian, I hate you! I hate you!" Realizing that Adrian would not let her out, Sienna abandoned her desperate pleas.

Aaron couldn’t watch any longer. "Sixth Master," he advised, "Mai is still a young woman. This kind of punishment is too cruel."

"You don’t need to persuade me. My mind is made up!"

"Sixth Master, treating Mai like this will only make her hate you!"

"Then let her hate me! I hate her right now too!"

"Drew, save me..."

When she understood Adrian would not save her, Sienna cried out the name buried deep in her heart—Drew Rafael, her guardian angel! When she was little, whenever she was in danger, Drew would always be the first to arrive and rescue her.

-"Ruby, as long as you call my name out loud, I’ll appear right in front of you!"

-"Really?"

-"Really!"

-"Drew, let’s make a pinky promise: for 15 years, we’ll never change!"

-"Okay!"

"Drew!"

She mustered all her strength to shout his name. He had said that whenever she called his name loudly, he would appear.

He would save her no matter what danger she faced.

"I’m scared... Drew, there are so many snakes, so, so many snakes! Save me..." she sobbed, "AHH!"

"Drew?" Adrian muttered the unfamiliar name. He sneered. "And who might this man be?" Because of this name, any softness in Adrian’s heart froze solid again.

No one dared to respond.
