Chapter 229: Chapter 229: Did He Really Summon It?

After touring the entire aquarium, it was perfectly noon.

Xiao Fei and Tang Yuxin brought the kids to have lunch outside.

Having thought of this in advance, Xiao Fei had already brought the kids’ meals with him.

After lunch.

Xiao Fei then suggested going to the zoo.

Having just seen the fish that swim in the water in the morning, they could now check out the animals that run on land and fly in the air in the afternoon.

Tang Yuxin couldn’t help but laugh, "Hubby, are you planning to spend the entire day showing the kids all kinds of animals?"

"Why not?"

Xiao Fei pointed at the three little ones bouncing around ahead of them.

"Aren’t the kids really happy?"

"They really are."

Tang Yuxin looped her arm around Xiao Fei’s and leaned her head on his shoulder.

After a while...

"Ugh, this is uncomfortable. I’d better just walk normally."

"You..."

Back when Xiao Fei had celebrated his birthday at the Hot Spring Villa, it had been the same scenario, and now here they were again.

Soon, the whole family arrived at the zoo.

Unlike the aquarium, which didn’t have any strange smells due to the glass walls separating the sea creatures, the outdoor setup of the zoo couldn’t quite conceal all the unusual odors, no matter how clean the staff kept the place.

Luckily, it wasn’t overwhelming, and most of the kids’ attention was focused on the animals anyway.

"Big kitty!"

"Big tiger!"

"Daddy... it’s a swan! It’s a swan!"

Every time they saw a new animal, the kids would rush over, thrilled.

After a while, the family reached the panda exhibit.

The Shanghai zoo only had two pandas, but even so, the pair were undoubtedly the most precious stars of the entire zoo.

"Wow! It’s a panda!"

"Daddy... panda..."

"Daddy’s no panda, though."

Xiao Fei playfully flicked Er Bao’s forehead.

The kids strained to get a better view, so Xiao Fei picked up Da Bao and Er Bao, one on each side, while Tang Yuxin held Sanbao.

Standing outside the railing, the family watched the two pandas in the enclosure.

One panda was lazily sprawled on a wooden structure built by the keepers, basking in the sun, putting on a performance of "absolute stillness" to entertain the onlookers.

The other panda had climbed up a tree.

Suddenly, the panda at the treetop lost its footing and tumbled down, landing onto the grass as gasps of shock rippled through the crowd.

The kids let out little screams.

But the next moment, the panda shook its head, wobbled a little, and got back up.

The children all let out a sigh of relief.

"Daddy... Daddy... why won’t the panda come over here?"

After calling for a while and not seeing the pandas come closer, Da Bao became a bit disgruntled.

Xiao Fei blinked and said, "Well then, how about Daddy calls the panda over for you?"

"Yes~~~"

The kids cheered in unison.

Quite a few other visitors nearby overheard Xiao Fei and turned to watch the spectacle.

After all, pandas were animals, not pets. You’re not a keeper, how could you possibly summon one by just calling?

"Honey, do you believe in me?"

"Of course, I do~~"

"Whatever you say, I believe you, hubby."

Though Tang Yuxin didn’t believe him at all deep down, her words clearly said otherwise.

Her charming smile left nearby onlookers, men and women alike, momentarily entranced.

This family—the handsome dad, the beautiful mom, and the angelic, adorable kids—was truly the subject of envy.

Xiao Fei paused, then under the children’s eager gazes, called out to the two pandas in the enclosure:

"Pandas! Come here for a moment!"

He spoke in Sichuan dialect.

At the same time, Xiao Fei used the ability granted by his system.

The two pandas wobbled their heads, turned to look in his direction, and, to the astonishment of everyone around, actually started ambling slowly toward Xiao Fei.

"This... can’t be real?!"

"Did he seriously just call them over?!"

"It has to be a coincidence... right?!"

The onlookers were all stunned, but the children clapped and cheered, ecstatic.

Tang Yuxin stared at Xiao Fei in disbelief. "Hubby... you...?!"

"Didn’t you know?"

Xiao Fei raised his eyebrows smugly. "Pandas understand Sichuanese. Isn’t that just common knowledge?"

What kind of world is that "common knowledge" from, damn it?!

This statement upended everything the onlookers thought they knew.

But the kids genuinely believed him.

Unfortunately, since they had spent most of their lives in Shanghai, despite both parents being from Sichuan Province, the kids didn’t actually know the local dialect.

They immediately began pestering Xiao Fei to teach them Sichuanese.

Still, their bigger interest at the moment remained the pandas.

Under Xiao Fei’s guidance, the two pandas waddled over to him and then plopped down on the ground, both lifting their heads to look at him.

"Daddy, can you make the pandas roll around?"

The kids spoke up again.

Xiao Fei naturally could.

First, he placed Da Bao on his shoulders securely, letting him sit there, then held Er Bao in one arm while gesturing with his free hand:

"Pandas~~ roll around a bit~~"

As he spoke, Xiao Fei made circular motions in the air with his hand.

And so, the two pandas actually started rolling around on the ground!

The surrounding crowd grew even more shocked.

Could pandas really understand Sichuan dialect?

Many onlookers began questioning their very understanding of life. Meanwhile, the kids just kept cheering joyfully.

As expected, their daddy was the best!

After playing there for quite some time, Xiao Fei finally led Tang Yuxin and the kids away.

As they walked on, suddenly...

"Ah...!!"

Out of nowhere, Tang Yuxin let out a startled cry and stumbled forward.

Luckily, the kids were walking on their own and wobbling along. With both his arms free, Xiao Fei quickly reached out and caught Tang Yuxin.

Pulling her into his arms, Xiao Fei asked worriedly, "What’s wrong?"

"Ugh... Hubby... I twisted my ankle."

Tang Yuxin looked up at him pitifully.

"It really hurts."

Xiao Fei frowned as he helped Tang Yuxin over to a flowerbed to sit down.

Squatting down in front of her, he carefully lifted her right leg and removed her high-heeled sandal.

Her small foot, wrapped in sheer stockings, was already starting to swell around the ankle.

Xiao Fei lightly touched it, and Tang Yuxin immediately winced in pain.

Seeing her pained expression, Xiao Fei’s heart ached. He leaned down and gently blew on her swollen ankle.

"Daddy... what’s wrong with Mommy?"

"Is Mommy in a lot of pain?"

"Mommy, don’t hurt..."

Seeing Tang Yuxin’s expression, the kids grew anxious one by one.

Er Bao, especially worried, said, "Mommy... don’t hurt anymore, okay? Can Er Bao take your pain away instead?"

That sentence...

Xiao Fei and Tang Yuxin were instantly moved to tears by the kids’ innocent gestures of love.
