Chapter 228: Chapter 228: The Whole Family Goes to the Aquarium

Of course, Professor Lin wasn’t really going to punish Xiao Fei.

After hearing Xiao Fei explain the situation over the phone, Professor Lin couldn’t help but feel a mix of exasperation and amusement.

After a brief chat, Professor Lin hung up the phone.

At the end, he shook his head with a smile.

He really didn’t expect that Xiao Fei’s family education was like this.

But come to think of it, Professor Lin genuinely hadn’t realized that those three kids were lying earlier.

This little episode didn’t affect the bond between Xiao Fei and the three kids at all.

After hearing that Xiao Fei forgave them, the little ones clung to him again.

A few days later.

The kids’ second birthday arrived.

It happened to fall on a Saturday, so Tang Yuxin didn’t have to go to school to teach her students.

Early in the morning, Xiao Fei got up to prepare breakfast for the whole family.

At the dining table.

"Kids, where do you want to go play today?"

When they heard Xiao Fei ask this, the kids looked a little puzzled.

Seeing this, Tang Yuxin, who was sitting next to Xiao Fei, laughed and said, "Kids, today is your second birthday!"

"Starting from today, you’re officially two years old."

"Really?"

The kids were overjoyed to learn it was their birthday.

However, for the moment, they couldn’t really think of where they wanted to go.

"How about this."

Xiao Fei offered a suggestion.

"Honey, why don’t we take the kids to the aquarium today?"

Tang Yuxin thought about it and agreed that it was a great idea.

"What’s an aquarium?"

Having never been to an aquarium, the kids naturally didn’t know what it was.

Xiao Fei explained, "An aquarium is a place where you can see lots and lots of beautiful fish, and there’s also a dolphin show!"

"Wow! That sounds amazing!"

"Yay!"

As soon as they heard they could see all kinds of sea creatures, the kids were instantly thrilled.

Originally, Xiao Fei had planned to go in the afternoon. But because the kids were so excited, he had no choice but to take them out in the morning.

Driving with his family, they quickly arrived at the aquarium.

After purchasing the tickets at the entrance, Xiao Fei and Tang Yuxin took the kids inside.

On both sides of the relatively narrow corridor were massive glass walls, and even the ceiling above was made of glass.

Through the glass, you could see all sorts of marine fish inside.

As soon as they stepped in, the kids let out exclamations of wonder.

"Wow... such pretty fish!"

"It’s so blue—it really looks like an underwater world."

"Daddy, daddy! That fish is so long... so long!"

"Daddy, what’s that?"

Xiao Fei looked in the direction Sanbao was pointing and said, "That’s called a manta ray, also known as a devil fish."

Devil fish?

Hearing Xiao Fei’s explanation, the kids looked again at the enormous manta ray and suddenly felt a bit scared.

The manta ray is called a devil fish because its appearance does look somewhat frightening.

Er Bao and Sanbao both quickly dove behind Xiao Fei and Tang Yuxin in fright.

Before long, they passed through the manta ray exhibit, and more and more bizarre and fascinating marine fish, the likes of which the kids had never seen, appeared before them.

"Kids, this one is called the Seven-colored Angel Fish."

"Daddy, is it really an angel?"

Er Bao tugged on Xiao Fei’s pant leg, asking with an innocent expression.

"Silly Er Bao, there’s no such thing as angels in this world."

"There are!"

"There aren’t!"

Da Bao and Er Bao started arguing again.

Sanbao, however, was very well-behaved, holding Tang Yuxin’s hand the entire time.

But she, too, kept asking questions nonstop, pointing at any unfamiliar fish and asking what it was called.

How could Tang Yuxin possibly know all their names?

Before long, she looked pitifully at Xiao Fei for help.

Seeing that Xiao Fei could answer every question the kids asked, Tang Yuxin didn’t notice at first. But then, she began to find it a bit strange.

"Honey, we all went through the same nine years of compulsory education. How do you know everything?"

"Because I secretly studied up."

Xiao Fei raised an eyebrow smugly.

"Why do you think I suggested going to the aquarium?"

Tang Yuxin was momentarily speechless.

Her husband had really gone to great lengths to maintain his omniscient image in front of the kids.

Finally, they had walked through all the traditional marine fish viewing areas and stepped outside.

The kids still seemed reluctant to leave and wanted to go back and see more.

"Don’t worry, we’ve got a dolphin show to watch next."

Xiao Fei said with a smile, patting the kids on their heads.

As soon as they heard about the dolphin show, the kids’ attention was immediately diverted.

The dolphin performance area was built like an open-air amphitheater, but instead of a stage, there was a massive pool at the front.

During operating hours, the dolphin shows ran continuously, with dolphins and trainers taking turns.

When Xiao Fei and Tang Yuxin brought the kids to the performance area and found a good spot to sit, a new show was just about to begin.

A woman in a tight costume floated in the middle of the pool. With a wave of her arm, four dolphins leapt out of the water simultaneously, tracing a beautiful arc in the air before diving back into the water.

The four dolphins performed a total of seven moves, each one leaving the audience awestruck.

Such high-difficulty leaps were something you could only see at an aquarium.

"Wow...!"

"Dolphins~~~ Daddy! Look, dolphins~~"

Er Bao and Sanbao cheered excitedly, while Da Bao, though quieter, stared wide-eyed and unblinkingly at the performance.

After a while, Da Bao asked, "Daddy, why do dolphins follow commands?"

"Because dolphins are very smart. They’re the smartest animals in the world, second only to humans."

"Really?"

Da Bao thought for a moment, then suddenly asked:

"Daddy, can we have a dolphin as a pet?"

As soon as Da Bao asked this, Er Bao and Sanbao also looked over expectantly.

"No, we can’t, sweetie."

Xiao Fei shook his head.

Hearing this, the kids looked disappointed.

"Why can’t we keep a dolphin as a pet?"

"Because it’s not allowed by the government. And taking care of a dolphin is very complicated. If I had to take care of a dolphin, I wouldn’t have time to look after you kids."

"That won’t do."

Er Bao shook his head decisively.

"Daddy can’t take care of dolphins and not take care of us."

"Alright~"

Xiao Fei and Tang Yuxin couldn’t help but laugh at Er Bao’s comment.

The dolphin show continued.

Under the trainer’s guidance, the four dolphins danced gracefully in the pool, performing all kinds of tricks.

The kids cheered again and again, and when the show ended, they were reluctant to leave.

In the end, Xiao Fei and Tang Yuxin were dragged by the three little ones to watch the same show three times before they finally managed to leave with them.
