Wang Xiaoya comforted Zhang Li and told her not to panic yet.

She analyzed, "Assistant Manager Liu Kai has been performing well, and hasn’t made any major mistakes. Chu Feng shouldn’t give him a hard time, right?"

Zhang Li said, "But Liu Kai is his competitor, and that day when I saw him with Liu Kai, I even humiliated him!"

Zhang Li looked at Long Fei with pleading eyes, "Long Fei, we’re all friends, and Little Ya and I have been best friends for years. Please, help me beg Chu Feng for mercy!"

Wang Xiaoya, moved by compassion, couldn’t help but persuade Long Fei, "Long Fei, just forgive Zhang Li this once!"

Long Fei couldn’t stand to see Wang Xiaoya distressed, and reluctantly pulled out his phone to give Chu Feng a call.

After arriving, he sat down next to Long Fei.

Liu Kai carefully placed the plate in front of him, and with a wave of his hand, Chu Feng dismissively sent him away like a well-behaved dog.

Long Fei and Wang Xiaoya also looked on curiously.

Chu Feng replied with a nonchalant smile, "Tian Yuan resigned on his own. He said he couldn’t face staying at the company any longer, so I approved his resignation."

"I see!"

All three of them stared at each other in astonishment; they had all thought too much.

Chu Feng turned to Long Fei and said, "Brother Long, with Zheng Dahai gone, five positions have opened up in the security team that Bald Nie and I are part of. The higher-ups plan to fill these positions, and you have the authority to recommend people. If they pass the interview, they can start work immediately."

"Understood."

Long Fei nodded, already having plans in mind for this matter.

Xu Dong and other teammates from the soccer team were idling around, having difficulty finding a decent place for their internship.

Working as security guards here may not be as prestigious as white-collar jobs, but with a salary of three thousand a month and four days off, it was quite a good deal.

I recommended you to the HR department, a monthly wage of five thousand, that’s two thousand more than what you’re making now!"

Wang Xiaoya was surprised, feeling as though a pie had fallen from the sky.

It all happened so suddenly, she was totally unprepared.

She glanced at Long Fei, then back at Chu Feng, a bit uncertain, "Am I up for it?"

Chu Feng said, "Why wouldn’t you be? The canteen duties aren’t difficult, and there’s a whole set of procedures in place. You just need to follow the rules and make sure everyone gets a hot meal. I’ve looked over your record for the past two years: not a single day of being late or leaving early and a diligent approach to work. The higher-ups think highly of you; you should have confidence in yourself too."

Long Fei added, "Right, Little Ya. You’re so clever, anything others can do, you can definitely do well too."

"Well then, I’ll give it a try!"

Wang Xiaoya nodded, for her, this was indeed an opportunity.

She had been at the company for two years, and without any connections, she was still a receptionist.

Chu Feng shrugged, "I’d love to promote you too, but there simply aren’t any vacancies. How about you convince Liu Kai to resign? Then I can give you his deputy manager position."

"Are you serious?"

Chu Feng said calmly, "Of course I’m serious. I used to have feelings for you, but sadly, you heartlessly abandoned me. Naturally, I’d look out for my own people when a good opportunity comes up."

Zhang Li cursed internally, disbelieving that Chu Feng ever had feelings for her.

However, she did take the idea of getting promoted to heart and said to Chu Feng, "If Liu Kai leaves, are you sure you’ll promote me?"

Chu Feng nodded, replying calmly, "Sure, the deputy manager is just a gofer, and anyone can run errands. Having a beauty flitting around in front of me, I’d be more than happy."
