The Beautiful CEO’s Dragon Blood Bodyguard
Chapter 156 - 0156: Veto by One Vote

Chapter 156: Chapter 0156: Veto by One Vote

Lin Guohao looked at the voting results and was very pleased.

He cleared his throat and said, "It seems that everyone is on the same page. The position of HR Director shall be given to Chu Feng."

"Right, let’s follow the outcome of the vote!"

"We have no objections!"

A group of shareholders expressed their support one after another.

Li Zhewen massaged his temples, sitting in place without speaking.

Lin Yingying scoffed inwardly and said, "Let’s not rush, everybody, I don’t think I’ve made a decision yet, have I?"

Lin Guohao said, "The board has already decided, what more is there for you to decide?"

Lin Yingying countered, "Second Uncle, according to the company’s regulations, the President seems to have veto power, doesn’t she?"

The crowd’s faces fell at once, and Lin Guohao reminded her, "Yingying, that veto power isn’t unrestricted. With three consecutive board approvals, you won’t be able to negate anything!"

Lin Yingying stood up and said, "Then aren’t there still two times left? Let’s discuss this HR Director position again later!"

After speaking, she left with Su Qi, leaving behind a room full of shareholders with their own thoughts.

Someone asked Lin Guohao, "Vice President Lin, what should we do now?"

Lin Guohao took out a cigarette, took a puff, and said, "What else can we do? We’ll discuss it again next time. It’s just two chances, let her go ahead and veto it!"

The group nodded, stood up, and left one by one.

Lin Guohao looked at Cheng Shusheng and the other two, saying, "Brother Cheng, don’t forget the agreement we all made."

"Don’t worry!"

Cheng Shusheng and his company nodded and left together.

Lin Guohao stayed in the meeting room alone for a while, rubbing his head and saying, "Quite interesting!"

In the President’s office, Lin Yingying entered and slammed the documents she was holding onto the ground, exclaiming angrily, "Has Second Uncle lost his mind? Bringing the wolf into the house, even cooperating with his own enemy!"

Su Qi stood opposite her, also looking completely bewildered today.

She furrowed her brows and speculated, "Your Second Uncle must have made some deal with Chu Feng; otherwise, this wouldn’t make sense."

Lin Yingying sat down and asked her, "What kind of deal?"

Su Qi said, "Someone mentioned to me last night that your Second Uncle’s son, Lin Jiahui, has returned. If I’m not mistaken, your Second Uncle must be scheming something involving his son."

Lin Yingying thought for a moment and said, "No wonder, I was saying he was acting so out of character today. His brother-in-law gets pushed out, and yet he could still calmly collaborate with this enemy."

Su Qi inquired, "Yingying, did you notice? Today Cheng Shusheng, Jiang Ming, and Shen Guozhang also acted very unlike themselves?"

Lin Yingying nodded, "I noticed."

Su Qi continued, "They never used to concern themselves with company matters and usually sided with your father. But this time, unexpectedly, they supported Chu Feng firmly. Perhaps, they are Chu Feng’s backers."

Lin Yingying frowned slightly and said, "That’s strange. What’s Chu Feng’s background that he can have three company shareholders listening to him?"

Su Qi stated, "This is something we need to investigate quickly. If our guesses are correct, this guy Chu Feng has big plans!"

Lin Yingying nodded and instructed her to take charge of the investigation.

After all, the HR Director position wasn’t going anywhere for now.

What she needed to do was to start with the family shareholders, to unite them and have them on her side.

Originally, Elder Master Lin held 45% of the company’s stock, later giving 20% to his eldest son, Lin Guodong, and 20% to his second son, Lin Guohao, keeping 5% for himself.

The other shareholders, non-family shareholders, owned 15%, and the family shareholders owned another 15%.

However, the ownership of the remaining 25% was a mystery—5% belonged to some individual investors who basically had no say.

No one knew who owned the other 20%, as Elder Master Lin had never disclosed it.

Lin Yingying had been investigating this matter but hadn’t come up with anything conclusive.

If she could win over the person who controlled that 20%, her word would then be law on the board.

At the driving school, Long Fei sneezed and then sat up.

"Damn it, the efficiency here is terrible."

He’d arrived early in the morning, but by noon it still wasn’t his turn.

A thousand people took the test each day, and they were called in based on the order of arrival.

He was dumped at the very end of the line, and he figured it would be dark by the time he completed the test.

He wiped his nose, wondering who was thinking about him.

Now his phone was locked in a cabinet, and he couldn’t bring it into the testing area, so all he could do was sit and wait.

At that moment, a middle-aged man took the seat next to him.

He looked somewhat slippery, and he quietly asked Long Fei, "Buddy, do you want a guaranteed pass?"

Long Fei furrowed his brow in confusion, "What guaranteed pass?"

The middle-aged man explained, "You pay some money, and once you’re inside, just sit there; someone will help you answer the questions!"

"No need!"

Long Fei chuckled lightly; he knew the material for Subject One like the back of his hand and didn’t need any guaranteed pass.

The middle-aged man was persistent and tried to negotiate, "Young man, don’t distrust me. Subject One questions are very tough now; a guaranteed pass is easier. Uncle sees that we’re fated to meet—you’d usually pay a thousand, but give me five hundred, and I’ll help you out."

Long Fei sized him up, not expecting him to be so persistent.

Just then, a security guard in uniform came over, shouted at the middle-aged man, "Su Laicai, are you here scamming people again? I’m telling you, if you keep this up, I’m going to call the cops!"

He grabbed him and began to drag him out the door.

Su Laicai shouted repeatedly, "Wait, wait, it’s a misunderstanding! I came here for a reason today; I’m here to take the test!"

The guard scoffed, "You’re a taxi driver, what test are you taking?"

Su Laicai hurriedly explained, "I was just unlucky, okay? Last week someone docked me twelve points, so I had to return here to relearn."

He took his test card from around his neck and showed it to the guard.

The guard let him go, warning, "If you’re here to take a test, then act properly. If you scam people again, I won’t let you off!"

"I know, I know!"

Su Laicai hastily clasped his hands in thanks, and after the guard left, he sat next to Long Fei with an awkward expression.

Long Fei looked at him and scoffed, "Just now, if I’d paid you the money, would you have disappeared?"

Su Laicai lifted his chin and said, "How could I? I really have people on the inside."

Long Fei didn’t bother with him any further; such scammers weren’t even worth hitting for fear of dirtying his own hands.

In the late afternoon, around four, a staff member called his name.

He followed them into the test hall, sat down in front of a computer, and logged in with his ID number.

The test questions were even simpler than the practice ones, and he practically glanced over them before submitting within five minutes.

The computer displayed a score of 100, and Long Fei left the hall with a satisfied smile.

He sat outside for a while, and after his pass slip was issued, he signed his name and left.

He’d been busy since morning and was nearly starving.

Others had arrived around six, but he had slept in at Ding Xue’s place until almost ten.

On reflection, it was all his own doing.

Long Fei waited at the entrance of the driving school for a while, intending to catch a taxi home.

Suddenly, two honks sounded from behind him.

Long Fei turned and saw Su Laicai had arrived in a rental car and was waving at him, "Young brother, ride with me; I’ll take you home!"
