The Baroness Misbehaves
Chapter 68: Bathe Me (3)

Chapter 68: Bathe Me (3)

"Why? You have to wash every part of me. Remember?" He said, fighting the tempting urge to pull the woman into the tub and mercilessly have his way with her for making him hard. He couldn’t remember the last time someone made his manhood respond this effectively, but then this little wife of his was able to awaken it from just a few touches to his skin.

"T.... this isn’t what we agreed on." Madeline pulled back nevertheless, her heart thundering against her chest after grasping what he wanted her to do. She was already being tortured from having to feel his reaction whenever she touched him, and when he leaned his head back and made her look him in the eyes, Madeline could feel an electric current run through her system.

It made her wonder if he felt it too.

Licking his lips, Cassian swallowed hard and tried to get his mind together. His Adam apple moved each time he took a swallow of his own dried saliva to stabilize himself and mind. He let go of Madeline’s wrist before he ended up changing his mind.

"Wash my hair." He changed conversation and relaxed against the edge of the tub. He was a bit annoyed that he had made her witness just how much effect her touch had on him, meanwhile he wanted it to be the other way round, but his little wife had automatically turned the tables on him since he could still feel the painful bulge between his legs.

Madeline didn’t move for a few seconds, and when the tub grew quiet with Cassian remaining utterly silent, Madeline mistook his silence for anger since she had refused to do what he asked of her.

She reached for the shampoo, squirting a dollop into her palm before working it into Cassian’s silky messy hair. He closed his eyes once again, leaning into her touch as she massaged his scalp, and he could feel his scalp go numb from how she handled him with utmost care, giving him a fuzzy feeling in his chest.

As Madeline rinsed the shampoo out of his hair, she watched as the water glided down his face, and some water droplet even got stuck against the tip of his long dark lashes that quivered slightly.

He was just beautiful!

As the water began to cool, Madeline realized that it was time to get out of the tub.

"C....Cas." She called his name when the young lad didn’t open his eyes after that. "You need to...to get out of the water."

"Do you intend to get me out of the water?" He was back to being a tease as he opened his eyes, but he had no idea how much his playful response had relieved her heart, and Madeline smiled after confirming that he wasn’t upset with her.

"N...no," she shook her head. "You...you need to step out and meet me in the room so I can add the treatment to your eyes before covering it up."

"I see." He clicked his tongue. "Are you going to leave, or do you want to watch me get dressed up too?"

Madeline’s cheeks burned with embarrassment and she immediately rose to her feet. "I’m leaving."

"Hold on."

Madeline’s feet stopped in her tracks when he told her to wait. She turned to look at him, and he stretched his right hand forward. "My towel, or do you want me to come ask for it naked?"

Quickly looking around for where she had kept his towel, Madeline grabbed hold of it and handed it to the young lad before running out of the bathroom.

Hearing the door slide to a close, Cassian’s lips pleasantly curved to the side.

Sitting on the bed and feeling the coolness of the weather meet her skin, Madeline tried to calm the fastness of her heartbeat, and she mentally took counts of how many deep breaths that was required to ease her mind and body.

At the same time, she carried a pillow and buried her face in it, feeling all giddy on the inside and everything that happened in there began to play out in her head, further leading her poor heart to speed up. She would certainly get back at him for making her feel different emotions in one night, and she was going to make sure he regrets it.

Even with that, she found herself smiling and blushing like a complete fool.

Later on, Cassian stepped out of the bathroom all dressed in his black-colored nightwear, and Madeline nearly scolded him for putting himself through the trouble of wearing his shirt when he could have just called her to assist him, but then she knew his response wouldn’t be something she would be able to digest, so she swallowed her worry.

"Come."

Helping Cassian sit on the bed, Madeline went to pick the eyedrop she made and kept on a tray beside the food that was covered with a lid. The servant had brought them earlier from the upper west quarters like she requested, and Madeline took it upon herself to make the herbs without any assistance.

"What did the physician give to you?" Cassian asked out of pure curiosity, and Madeline didn’t respond until she had successfully added the eyedrop to both his eyes and blindfolded him up once again.

"He wrote down a few herbs for me that I needed to prepare." She answered. "Your mother made sure I sent a maid to get them, and I did the process myself." She told him but wasn’t expecting Cassian to cough all of a sudden at the mention of his mother.

"You mean mother was here?" He sounded taken aback by it.

"Yes." Madeline folded her arms. "She was furious at first, but I came up with something and told her you had an accident. I didn’t tell her the truth about what really happened, and I felt bad for lying to her."

"You didn’t tell her??" Cassian looked relieved to hear Madeline didn’t say a word about the incident to his mother. "Thank you for covering up for me."

"We’re in this together, so you don’t have to thank me." He heard her say, and Cassian surprisingly found comfort in her words.

All of a sudden, he could hear her footsteps leading to the side table, followed by the sound of a lid opening, and his brows furrowed with interest as he wondered what that little wife of his was up to.

"Maddie?"

Immediately, the salivating scent of something delicious assaulted his nostrils. Just perceiving the aroma alone was enough to awaken the hunger within him, and that’s when it hit him that he hasn’t eaten anything all day. No wonder his system feels even weaker than he had expected.

"Smell something nice?" He could hear his wife’s congenial voice as she asked him. He was seriously dying to see her face again and what sort of expression she was making regarding that tempting question of hers.

"Is it you?" He teasingly asked, and Madeline sat beside him on the bed with the tray of food resting on her lap. "I made us something to eat. I knew if you woke up, you’d feel famished since you haven’t eaten anything all day, so I made us something."

"Does that explain why I couldn’t find you when I woke up?"

"Yes." She nodded. "I had to find you something to eat, and Adeline was very helpful in dishing up something nice for me. Since she took care of our meal, I took care of your herbs since I didn’t want any mistakes to be made." She ranted about how warm it was indulging in conversations with Adeline and Frederick, and Cassian quietly listened to his wife who’s tone sounded happy.

Cassian really appreciated all she did for him, but he wasn’t the type who would offer thanks without giving something in return, and he was bound to repay her for her kindness when his eyes heal again.

Knock! Knock! Knock! The sound of someone knocking interrupted their peaceful conversation.

"I’ll get it." Madeline stopped Cassian from going to get the door and went to get it herself. When she opened the door, Frederick was standing there.

"Frederick?"

"Evening Milady." He bowed his head. "Sorry to disrupt but there’s someone important asking for Lord Cassian downstairs."

"Someone important?" Madeline’s eyebrows creased in puzzlement.

"Who?" Cassian asked as he stood up from the bed, and Frederick bowed his head.

"Klaus Winchester."

"I’ll be downstairs in a minute." He answered before Frederick finally left.

Madeline, on the other hand, was not in support of him going downstairs to meet anyone due to his health condition.

"You can’t go just yet, you haven’t eaten and...."

"I’ll eat when I’m done getting rid of the tyrant downstairs." He came to stand before Madeline whom he could sense was already feeling concerned about him.

"Don’t be worried for a man like me, else I’ll mistake it for the fact that you have fallen in love with me."

His hand cupped her cheeks and before Madeline knew it, his lips found her forehead as he dropped a quick kiss on it, causing the young lady to gasp.

"Eat and then take your medication, I’ll be back." And he stepped out of the room with his hands in the pocket of his night pants.
