Ten closed his eyes before taking a deep breath, he flashes it open, and holds out a permission slip, everyone remains confused.

"Order’s from General Anzai!" He announced. "I’m leading this force"

They froze, their mouths dropping, NO one expected that at all and right at this moment. Haya’s eyes were shocked; she couldn’t believe it, but then a smile crossed her lips because she knew he was more than capable.

’I thought it was General Anzai’ Saho thought, scratching the back of his brown hair.

Homura gulped.

"So listen to what I have to say..." Ten said retreating the permission slip, it was enough proof to show them.

"Our top priority is making sure the two choppers hosting humanity get to Fukuoka in one piece... our focus is directed only on keeping the Kaijus away from those choppers no matter what!" he explained.

"According to General Anzai’s prediction, the Queen Kaiju will stop at nothing to come at us with her armies, so we better be prepared bio-genetics for this isn’t just a war but a war for survival, if humanity doesn’t get to Fukuoka then it will all be OVER"

They froze at his words, he was right, if the two choppers get taken down then there’s nothing left to fight for, they knew it in their hearts, one mistake will lead to the extermination of them all.

’My body is stuttering badly’ Ten thought, he may look strong before them but he was nervous as f**k, he swallowed hard in response. ’Keep it together Ten’ he thought with determined looks as his bottom lip pursed upwards the other like he was bearing fire. ’Do. Not. Fret!’

"Why did you pick Ten to lead the other force, Anzai?" Touka asked, working on her gun. Anzai was at a corner setting his boots, he tied the knots in a swift move before smirking, a cigar in between his lips, bringing out steams from the bottom, he removed it.

The realization struck Touka even with his silence. "This was your plan wasn’t it?" She added folding her arms, she always knew Anzai to have something up his sleeves.

He rose to his feet. "Shall we get going ahead then... we have a Queen to hunt"

Her eyes were saddened. "Why can’t I go with you guys," she said faintly but he heard her, he sauntered to her, standing before her, she hoists her head up to meet his gaze, his eyes were sad.

Her eyes shook as a strong feeling overwhelmed her. She subconsciously grabs on his jacket, she shakes her head negatively. "Don’t tell me you aren’t coming back, don’t tell me none of you are"

He held her hands tightly with his. "We all prepared for the worst... the past 7 months as we trained them together I’m sure you must have sensed it also..."

The tears formed in her eyes in a cluster. "Don’t you die you hear me! ALL of you must come back in one piece, you hear me!" she yelled.

A faint smile formed on Anzai’s lips. "Promise me!" she urged awaiting his answer, she needed to hear it from him, he wanted to. "Please Anzai... I don’t think I can-" she was cut off as he hugs her tightly, a very tight warm embrace as he buried his face in her neck, Touka’s eyes shook before she closes her eyes and held him tightly, they have hugged before but this.... this was more intimate, as in the silence their feelings played out in their hearts, but none of them altered a word as they remained like that.

"Touka" he began in a luxurious tone, close to her ear, she shivered at his deep voice. "Anzai," she said softly, she didn’t want this embrace to end, she didn’t mind remaining like this for long, she just wanted him here with her, she wanted to be with him, the multiple feeling within her was erupting, she tried to contain all this while, she tried to hide it ever since he said he couldn’t move on, but right now she wasn’t sure she could.

"Anzai I -"

"I’m going to tell you about the X-File"

She stilled at his words, her eyes flashed open, trembling, she couldn’t believe her ears, was he about to tell her about a government secret?

"Listen to me very carefully Touka"

"Alright everyone move, do not push, do not worry there is enough space for everyone, gently now, watch the kids"

The halls were filled with multiple murmurs as the movement commerce.

Kiyoshi descending the stairs watches the scene, the civilians as they occupied the choppers, his hazel eyes were dull as he watches them, the young, the old, and the children, the next generation of humanity if they don’t protect it.

"Kiyoshi-sama" Kenji the power director of the base said behind him, he could feel how tense the prime minister was.

"When I became prime minister, I knew it wasn’t just for fame or wealth, I was being given the fate of billions of civilians in my hands" he began with wistful eyes staring at his palm. "Even as my tenure was extended... I knew it was the will of heaven to lead this nation", his palm turned to a fist. ’Humanity must survive’ he thought sternly. ’It must’

"Anzai and the strike team?"

"Yes Kiyoshi-sama, they are already set to move out," Kenji said.

"I see... so the fate of our lives lies in these kids’ hands, ironic isn’t it?" he said in amusement. Kenji stilled at his words even more as Kiyoshi chuckled but the humor within it was dead, he really was tense.

"Who would have thought the fate of the world will rest on them?" he turned to the direction of the bio-genetics assisting in the movement.

"No..." he said as his eyes narrowed, watching them right now and how much they have grown and how far they came, they were more than that. Yes, they were kids who awoke from a slumber and took the horrors of what happened to humanity the very second, with no time to process their grief properly they were sent out into the world and experienced things kids their age were never meant to go through. You could call him a monster for letting them pass through such, but he called it fate.

Despite everything, they still stand and surge further for the sake of humanity, none could they ever handle such weight, for...
