Chapter 246: Last quest on Erok. Part 4

’Ugh... What is going on? Am I being carried by someone now? Is it the dragon lord?’

The elf girl couldn’t open her eyes because they were heavy. Her head was dizzy and she couldn’t even lift a finger because her body was too exhausted.

’Where is he taking me? Am I going to get eaten by the dragon lord?’

Slowly, she opened her eyes and saw a white fur. It was hair to be precise but her eyes were playing tricks, her fragileness had taken over her eyesight.

All she could see was a ball of white fur taking her somewhere.

’Why is the rabbit dancing in front of my eyes?’ her wild imagination took over his thoughts which made her think like that.

At that moment, the man stopped walking and entered a room with no lights. Since her senses were still working somehow because of her huge mana core, she knew she had taken inside a spacious room with nothing but six walls surrounding her. Then the man turned on a bright light that illuminated from everywhere, making the spacious room visible.

’..where am I? Is it the dragon lord’s house?’

At that moment, Viktor put her on a soft bed and cast healing magic on her.

She couldn’t even feel where the bed appeared under her body until her body touched it, making her feel a little confused.

The healing magic entered her body, her veins and lastly, every cell of her body. All of her wounds, fragileness and pain healed and her thoughts became cleaner.

She quickly opened her eyes and saw a pair of silver eyes staring at her. They were emotionless, yet filled with kindness. Not only that, she saw a tremendous amount of golden mana leaking from his body. A golden aura that she had never seen before but seeing that made her realise it was beyond a person’s capacity to hold a drop of it in his body.

Golden mana wasn’t something that belonged to any mortal so she immediately thought he wasn’t a human. But she mistook him for the dragon lord.

But her assumption was wrong.

She sat on the bed by lifting her torso quickly and bowed before the white-haired man.

"I... I surrender in front of the great dragon lord. Please let me take care of you."

Her body was trembling in fear but when she felt a warm touch on her head, her body calmed down, which made her feel better and peaceful. But she was taken aback by the warm touch so she mumbled,

"..my l..lord..?"

"Don’t worry. You are safe," the man replied with a pleasant voice.

"..yes.."

"You don’t need to be so scared. I am not the dragon lord. I am Viktor E. North, the demigod of all living records. But in this world, I am known as the demon lord."

"A demigod? A demon lord?.. what is going on?"

"You must be surprised. But let me clarify something here. I kidnapped you and left those men in front of the dragon’s den. I am sure a war will break out soon. Well anyway, you’re safe in my hands."

Viktor fixed her golden locks and smiled at her. He then said, "Kid, take some rest for now. We will talk tomorrow. I have some unfinished business."

"hum..?"

Right after Viktor finished his words, her eyelids became heavy and fell into her slumber.

"My lord, what are you going to do with her now?" Yir appeared behind him with a plate full of peeled fruits. He again asked, "Is this also a part of your plan?"

Viktor gave off an evil smirk and said, "Just wait and watch..."

’Of course, she’s a part of my plan. After I learned about the elven people and their cold-hearted ritual, a plan came into my mind.

My next quest was to find the key of 009. And to obtain that, I needed to keep the heroes busy with side-works instead of aiming for the demon lord while I am away.

The key finding quest will definitely take me about 20 years in another world. So in order to keep them busy, I wanted to make a mess with the elven people, make them think the sacrifice was stolen by humans.

This will make them wage war with the human world and of course, the heroes will have no choice but to join it. Moreover, I will fake my death in the middle of the dragon lord quest which will make them more furious.

My fake death will distract them.

Furthermore, the swarm of demonic beasts will just add fuel to the fire. They will become busier to keep Romos safe from any danger.

Now in the middle of the damned war, my fake death will make them hold a grudge against the elven people and in the meantime, I will come back after a few years and kill them.

Or maybe not because if Radium finds a way inside the tower system by hacking it, I can get out of the tower without any issues.’

Viktor rubbed his face with both of his hands and thought, ’Now, I just have to brainwash this kid and let her join the hero party as my spy. Her main job will be to distract them from their real quest.’

....

The next day at 12:04...

"Radium, how’s the nectar machine progress?" Viktor looked at the floating screen projected by Radium to read all the data it gathered.

The fruits were preserved in a time spell box by Radium and it was busy finishing the manufacturing process.

*MASTER, even if the machine is ready, the product may or may not contain its targeted quality. There is a 76% failing possibility of the 1st product. The next 10 products will be marked as trail products. 2 fruits will be used in the process. Should we continue building as planned or upgrade the machine first? This may take a few weeks.*

A frown appeared on Viktor’s face after hearing that.

’A few weeks, I am not in a hurry but I am still feeling uneasy about your opinion. The fruit we received is limited. There’s no way of knowing when my supplier will send the next batch. There is also no guarantee of the next batch either.’

He shook his head and swiped the floating translucent screen in front of him to check the suggested blueprint of the machine.

"Uranium, what is your opinion?"

*MASTER, let’s continue upgrading it. 76% failing chance is too much because we have limited raw materials.*

"But a few weeks is a lot of time. I don’t think I can visit the lab frequently because I am busy with something outside."

*We will report to you every 30 minutes. And if something goes wrong, we will notify you.* The fat cat flew in front of Viktor and touched his nose with its paw.

The fat cat then said, *The system inside your body is preparing itself to warn you. Your quest is nearly reaching its deadline, isn’t it? Please focus on your quest. We will take care of the machine.*

*Sigh...*

"Okay then, I will go outside now." Viktor took off his white lab coat and walked outside the spacious room. He then entered the section where the elf was resting and saw Yir reading a book.

Seeing him entering, Yir closed the book and stood up to greet him. "Good morning, my lord." With a pleasant tone of voice, he again asked, "My lord, may I prepare your breakfast?"

"No, just pick some fruits from the garden. They are from the underworld, probably from the highest realm of gods. They are more nutritious than mortal world food."

Yir paused for a moment and asked, "Plants from the highest realm of gods? May I ask how you obtain those?"

"From the underworld, I stole it from Name’s garden."

Yir was speechless.

He then shook his head and said, "You are bold as ever, my lord. You never fail to surprise me. I will prepare your breakfast now."

The section Viktor was in was a garden section. Since he was a nature-loving person, he placed furniture, especially beds in random locations in his garden. It was filled with plants, and flowers and the most exciting part about his garden was the artificial fountain and river he created.

Instead of normal water, he used the water he collected from the underworld when he was going through his second naming ritual.

The water was from hell but surprisingly, it was filled with mana. For that reason, the plants all over the garden were always supplied with mana water that made them grow quickly.

Viktor took off his shoes and touched the cold grass with his feet. He then walked around the garden and took care of some overgrown plants with a small knife.

At that moment, the elf girl came running to him and said, "W..who are you!"

Viktor turned back and saw the little kid wrapped in a white blanket. "Took you long enough to wake up. You were exhausted so even after healing, you slept for more than 13 hours."

Viktor put the small knife on the table beside him and walked near the little girl. He patted the kid’s head for a moment and again said, "I introduced myself yesterday, didn’t I? I am your kidnapper who saved you from turning into a meatball and mana shield. Isn’t this what you prayed for?"

The little girl stepped back and her back touched a huge tree. It made her startled a bit. "M..meatball?"

"Oh, I guess you don’t know. The dragon lord needs a good elf with a good mana core to make a shield for your kingdom’s safety. Aren’t you going to take revenge? It was the king and your family who abandoned you for money, honour and safety. What a messed up kingdom you lived on, tsk tsk... as a protector of nature, a demigod, I am truly disappointed in them."

’Now, it’s manual brainwashing time.’
