Chapter 205: Quest completed
"Level 1 wind needles huh? If I use my knowledge, the tower system will write it down as a new skill. I must be careful of using new skills because there’s no guarantee that the tower will see it as a cheat and forcefully shut it down."
Viktor walked out of the cave with his trembling body and said, "I should take some rest. Ugh... it’s blurry...my vision. ..is"
At that moment, the shadow spirit who guided him into the forest took the form of a small child like before said, "I knew he would be exhausted after a long fight. I am surprised that he was able to defeat level 4 demon dogs in his current state. I see, the spirit of nature has already bestowed its blessing on him. But his acts were too reckless. I might have to warn him about the demon lord because one day, he has to face him as a brave hero and save the world."
’Wait a minute, demon lord?’ Viktor was indeed knocked to the ground because of mana exhaustion. But his consciousness was still awake and he was well aware of his surroundings. ’Is this a clue about the final boss? Kiki told me that this is only the 1st floor of the tower. But there is no sign of any here. I am getting confused because how many worlds do I have to walk around to complete the tower? Or did the game change because of my cheats? Can I ask for help from this system? Hello? Oi system... Does it even work like Siri?’
*System has opened an emergency chat box.*
’Oh, so I can see the screen even if I’m closing my eyes, half dead. System, how do I complete the tower? How many floors does it have?’
*The tower system has chosen a different server for you due to an unknown reason. There are no levels in this server. The challenger must follow the instructions given by the system.*
’So how do I complete it? Who is the boss? The final boss of the trail?’
*The information is locked for the lack of challenger’s level. Please reach level 20 and again ask the question.*
’Tsk... what a useless shit.. anyway, can you at least tell me what is the situation outside? I can hear everything but I can’t feel my body. Is there any solution to it?’
*Shall the system turn on the 3rd eye? The challenger has an option that helps the host see his surroundings while closing his eyes or being unconscious.*
’Then what are you waiting for? Turn it on, I want to see where my body is right now. I don’t want to die again and start everything.’
At that moment, Viktor saw countless screens floating in front of his vision. It wasn’t similar to his 3rd eye but it was manageable for that moment. He looked around and saw he was being dragged by a small girl back to the spirit’s forest. Then, he was fed some fruit essence to wake him up from his sleep quickly.
’Ah, they are being so generous. I wonder how the small spirit is going to act after I wake up.’
After a few hours, Viktor opened his eyes and saw numerous spirits in small fairy form sitting on his body and gossiping about their daily life. Some of them were researching the golden halo on Viktor’s chest but they couldn’t find out why it was leaking out so much golden aura. They were also curious because they sensed the floating halo above Viktor’s head but they couldn’t see it.
It was invisible and for some reason, the power of them was sealed.
Viktor said, "Can you guys stop staring at my chest? Who took off my clothes-_-?"
The golden halo on his chest became invisible after Viktor touched it. The spirits were curious so they asked, "What are you? We don’t sense anything from your soul. It’s like a place filled with lights and vast emptiness. I’ve never seen any person like you. You may look like a human, but we are sure you are definitely not one of them."
Viktor smiled and replied, "I am just a magician who started his adventures. So, did the problem get solved?"
"Yes, the demon dogs have died and we can go outside. From now on, this area will become permanently sealed from the world or humans. No human or any race can enter without a pass. But you are not human, so I guess you can walk in and out without any problem. Not to mention, you do not have a physical body either."
"What do you mean by I do not have any physical body?"
The small spirit replied, "Your consciousness is here in a fake body. It’s linked to a different body somewhere but it’s not here. Also, your soul has a bad seal on it. It’s restricting you from using your power. And I doubt that you can use it while staying away from your body. You must go inside your body as soon as possible."
"Is that so? Thanks for telling me. Ah, how fast should I return to my body?"
"Hmmm.. about one or two centuries?
’Ah.. I forgot. Spiritual beings have a different understanding of the flow of time. One or two centuries is a day or two to them. Heheh..’
Viktor stood up from the field of flowers and then wore his clothes. He then said, "Thank you for taking care of me. I will continue my journey. Have a nice day."
"Wait..." a small spirit stopped him. "Please take these fruits!! You must eat them because it’s morning. A young man should not start his day with an empty stomach."
Viktor chuckled and took the basket of unknown fruits and left the forest after sunrise.
’I knew I was walking in an avatar. My body is still in the tower and it’s just a temporary vessel for the trial purpose. I need to gain more strength and hack into the system to connect my consciousness to my body. Because I didn’t come here to pass the trail. I came here to destroy the tower from its core. A gate connected to the mortal realm shouldn’t exist. Moreover, it’s slowly destroying so many lands in heaven like poison so it needs to get rooted from its core.
Just blowing up will cause more problems. I need to get inside its core. But how? That Kiki punk has my main body and the system isn’t allowing any cheats...’
Viktor sighed and looked at the rising sun in the east. Each of them had different colours so the sky became dyed with its marvellous colours.
’Yet, it’s not even near Helsia’s sunrise.’
Viktor then used wind magic on his staff and made it float above the ground. He then jumped on it and sat in the middle. "Now I don’t have to use mana on my legs to walk faster. If I’m going to use them anyway, I’ll use it on my staff and make it float. Now let’s head back to the village and report my quest."
The staff started to move forward faster than running speed so Viktor was able to enjoy the view and eat his breakfast while travelling.
Surprisingly, it took only 5 minutes to reach the village and he found the guild empty. The guild was silent where it was supposed to be crowded with people in the early morning.
He walked near the reception and rang the bell. "Is anyone here? Hello? I’ve come to check in with a complete quest..."
A girl came out of the back room with so many quest papers in her hand and said, "Oh? An adventurer is here. Aren’t you taking a part in the monster-hunting troop? All the adventurers had left before sunrise. It’s surprising to see someone staying back in the village."
Viktor asked, "Is something happening? Why is everyone absent?"
"You must be a newbie. A dungeon has broken out near Riktar Mountain. To defeat them, our territory lord has requested all the adventurers to attain. He said he will fairly divide the monster cores and pay one gold coin per person."
"I see.. I have my reasons to stay. Anyways, here is the quest and the herd that was requested."
"Oh my, you’re a newbie adventurer. You registered yesterday and completed a quest in just a day! You collected a rare herb at that! How wonderful!"
She took both his ID card and the herb from the table and after a minute. She took out a small pouch along with his ID.
"Here you go, 20 silver, 87 bronze. Your ID has been upgraded. You need more to complete more quests to update to E class adventurer."
’20 silver? I see. It was a rare herb after all. You can stay in an inn for a day with 10 bronze. They also provide food 3 times. 1 silver is enough to stay in an inn for 10 days... not bad. But I doubt that I will stay here for that long. I need to head to the next village.’
Suddenly, the tower screen appeared.
*Congratulations on completing the first tower quest.
You have levelled up.
Host level: 3.
New stats will be added after evaluating the hosts’ recent achievements thoroughly.*
"The tower system seems to be buffering. Why is it so lazy? It’s been 3 minutes since I reported to the guild and took a new quest."
*New quest: Head to the next village and increase your level to 15.
Duration: 10 years.
Quest failing penalty: Death.
Quest completing reward: The scythe of the omen of death.*
’Ah, so the system is putting up baits to lure me. Unfortunately, it successfully caught my attention. My lovely scythe, here I come!’
