Chapter 104: Chapter 104: Why Must You Always Make Me So Sad
Qin Muni continued to step forward until she reached the door of her home, then lifted her head to glance coldly at Xu Yisen, who was towering over her, and said, "Sir, please step aside; you’re blocking my door."
Xu Yisen hesitated and stood still, instinctively frowning slightly at the smell of alcohol emanating from Qin Muni.
"Why did you drink so much?"
His words made Qin Muni scoff. She sneered but did not answer Xu Yisen.
Xu Yisen lowered his gaze to stare at her, noticing a faint trace of disgust between her slightly drunken brows—an emotion she had never directed at him before.
"I’m sorry, I broke my promise."
In that moment, subtle ripples appeared in his ocean-like tranquil and deep eyes.
His apology emerged from those sensual, thin lips, unusually sincere.
Qin Muni ignored him, reached out to enter the code on the lock, and the door unlocked with two beeps.
Xu Yisen stood motionless at the door. She gave him a cold glance, warning signs lurking in her clear peach blossom eyes.
This time, Xu Yisen moved as she wished.
Qin Muni reached out to turn the door handle, opened the door, and stepped inside. As she was about to close the door, a force stopped her.
She turned her head, seeing Xu Yisen’s fair, slender hand holding the door she was trying to close.
"I want to talk to you."
In his gentle voice, again a trace of humble pleading emerged.
Qin Muni stared at him expressionlessly for two seconds, withdrew her hand from the door handle.
She did not shut him out as she had done days before; her gesture silently consented to Xu Yisen entering the room.
After changing shoes at the doorway, Qin Muni walked into the living room, threw her bag onto the sofa, and carelessly took off her wool coat, leaving it behind on the sofa as well.
Xu Yisen followed her into the living room, likewise took off his coat and placed it on the sofa, then followed her into the kitchen.
Qin Muni, with her back to him, poured a glass of warm water from the dispenser and drank it in large gulps, raising her head slightly.
Xu Yisen stood not far behind, his deep black eyes fixed upon her back.
Her long, seaweed-like hair, casually draped behind her, glimmered under the living room’s soft lighting.
Bam.
After draining the water from the cup in one gulp, she heavily placed the glass cup on the counter to one side, then slowly turned around.
Her eyes, as clear as black glass, flashed with cold light, her gaze at Xu Yisen as icy as the deepest cold pool.
"Muni, I know you don’t want me to intervene in Zhang Chufeng’s matters..."
Before the explanation was finished, Qin Muni, across from him, burst out hysterically, "Then why did you still intervene!"
The long-suppressed resentment in her heart exploded suddenly, and the tears that had welled in her eyes finally couldn’t help but spill over.
Xu Yisen instinctively lifted his leg to move closer. Realizing his approach, Qin Muni reached behind for the glass she had just used, slightly raised her hand, and without hesitation, hurled the glass in Xu Yisen’s direction.
Crash.
The glass swiftly smashed at Xu Yisen’s feet, shattered into pieces.
Xu Yisen glanced in shock at the glass shards beneath his feet, and then looked up at the already tear-streaked face of Qin Muni.
"Xu Yisen, we’re already divorced. How dare you meddle in my affairs! What exactly do you think you are; why do you always make me so miserable!"
Since the divorce, Xu Yisen’s approach and favor always repeatedly pushed her into exceedingly awkward situations.
