Tangled Hearts - The Alpha's Baby Mama
Chapter 83: What did you tell Selene?

Chapter 83: What did you tell Selene?

Noah POV

"Control yourself Alpha," Reid growled.

"How can I?" Mason hissed as his eyes glowered with hatred aimed at Xavier "Alpha Xavier is trying to dismantle century-old traditions and bring in an imposter amongst us. Not just that, I think the Alpha has formed the habit of abusing his powers whenever he likes. He removed the Assistant leader without our permission claiming he had the power to do so without being questioned,".

The hall became rowdy as all the Alphas began to speak at once. Some were in support of what Mason said while others felt he was too quick and should have waited for the right time to use that information. All of them were ranting except a particular Alpha.

One of the abilities of a Lycan is to sense energy and I always know when someone’s energy is off and in certain situations, I could also see through the person that was if I concentrated enough but with this Alpha... I couldn’t just place a finger. He looked remarkably calm, almost unbothered by what was going on and how everyone seemed to be clamouring for Xavier to be punished.

Wracking my brain, I tried to remember what he had introduced himself as. Motioning to Reid, I nodded in the direction of that Alpha "What’s his name?" I asked.

"Oh, that’s Alpha Jared of Blue Moon Pack. Characteristically quiet but people say it’s because the spirits of all his siblings are haunting him,".

"Haunting him?" My brows shot up in surprise "What do you mean?"

"He killed all of his siblings to claim his position as an Alpha and at the moment, he’s broke and his pack is going through a lot of challenges but he’s a sly one, your majesty. Is there any reason you’re taking special interest on him?" Reid asked.

"Just surprised at how unbelievably calm he is with everything going on in the hall," I scoffed "Anyways, try and bring them to order I want to hear what Xavier has to say concerning all the allegations so far. Plus, did Alpha Kurtis come here with him? If he did, it could only mean one thing," I murmured looking at my nephew who had an amused expression on his face.

"What could it mean, your majesty?" Reid asked leaning closer to me.

"He did it on purpose. He knows I would not reject whatever it is he wants now. All the odds are on his side, that’s why he’s so bold,".

He had control over my wife, my step children were his and they loved him to bits, He was my nephew so I literally cannot harm him because of my sister. Xavier had me so bad that if I had any designs to hurt him, I would literally be hurting myself. My gaze flits back to Alpha Jared as a thought began to form in my head.

Reid seeing that I was no longer forthcoming with my answers, turned to face the Alphas and then used his Lycan voice to restore order to the hall. When they all quietened, everyone turned to me in anticipation.

"Is it true?" I asked, resting my gaze on Xavier who hadn’t bothered to show any emotion since the beginning of everything. "Is it true that you’re planning to make Kurtis an Alpha and also part of the Coalition?"

"No, your majesty," he answered calmly.

Everyone gasped and wanted to complain when Xavier raised his hand up, silencing them once again "I haven’t finished talking," he says quietly "Anyways, every information that was given here today was false because I have made Kurtis an Alpha... giving him a region to rule and put his people precisely, the land at the Eastern border and not only did he join the Coalition, he’s also my deputy,".

Everyone sat shocked on their seat at his announcement. The hall was so quiet that I could hear the heartbeats of everyone present there but Xavier wasn’t done with us yet.

"My jurisdiction is completely independent of you, your majesty. By law, I have the right to make anyone an Alpha... someone who has proven both in integrity and character to be a true leader. For the period of years that I was in recluse, Alpha Kurtis has been the one protecting our Eastern borders from invasion. The very reason while he is rogue is because he chooses our safety before himself. Now, can any of the Alphas tell us their input so far as decorated Alphas?"

He paused as he scanned the hall. The Alphas all lowered their gaze in guilt... all except Jared who was still unconcerned.

"Every of the Alphas here including me all became Alphas by inheritance. None of us have been to a real war or fight in reality. We’ve had it smooth and steady but Kurtis has all the experience we need. He has been to many wars and fought nobly. His soldiers are the best and with his expertise, he was able to create a mutation of soldiers from the future..." he paused and motioned to a guard standing by the door...

The door of the room opened and tall, muscular soldiers of about 100 marched in. They looked slightly taller and if not bigger than Lycans. In fact, they looked like an upgraded version of us. Turning to Xavier, I sought an explanation...

"Who are these?" I asked him.

"They’re the combination of a female gamma cells who are known to be the best warriors amongst werewolves, a strand of Deltas and the quick ability of an Alpha. I’ve seen these soldiers at war your majesty... they are fast, with high recovery time and so skilled that you only need to train them for three days and they would fight as good as a veteran soldier and you know what is amazing, your majesty?"

My mind was already running in circles. Rio, was wagging his tail... an indication that he liked the idea. I was already seeing images of these soldiers fighting for us.

"Tell me..." I said trying to hide my interest.

"We didn’t make any of them in the lab. All we did, through a special method have, healthy Deltas, Gammas and Alpha blood mate. There’s a lot I’d like to tell you about these soldiers, your majesty but that would be done in the closet. By the way, all 100 of soldiers present at the moment equals 10,000 soldiers. That’s how fast they are,".

"I am not making all of this explanation to seek your approval because this is not clearly your jurisdiction, I just want to let the Alphas present here to know why I made Kurtis an Alpha and my right-hand man,".

After that, he gave me a quick bow and took his seat.

"Your majesty," Alpha Mason rose to his feet again "You see how rude and condescending the Alpha is. Imagine how we’ve been putting up with all of these. If he says it’s not withing your jurisdiction, then our input and voice should count too, right?"

They began to grumble again... the grumbling intensified but before it could escalate further, I raised my hand to draw their attention.

"That’s enough!"

All eyes turned to me again. I let my stony gaze scan the entire expanse of the hall before the rested-on Xavier.

"You may have a point regarding regional pack policies," I started "However, my interest is in the stability of the Coalition. I expect you to keep your house in order, Xavier,".

It was not a rebuke... because with everything that had just happened now, I realized I needed Xavier’s help more than anything but I needed to do it for the other Alphas... so they wouldn’t think I was supporting him because he was my nephew.

Exhaling deeply, I turned to face the other Alphas "Let’s bring the meeting to a halt at this moment and continued tomorrow. It’s been a long day and I need my rest. Besides, there are other pressing concerns I need to attend do. So, once there’s an opening, I will send word across. You may now all leave,".

The Alphas rose to their feet and gave a curt bow before they all filed out of the hall. All except Xavier who remained seated watching me. I whispered some instructions to Beta Reid who excused himself as he left to carry out my instructions. Soon it was just me and Xavier left.

Rising from my chair, I started towards the door. When I got to him, I give him a sideway glance and said coldly "Let’s walk,".

Xavier nodded and soon fell into step with me as we marched along the wide hallway of the pack house. My mind was occupied with a lot of things. I wanted to question him about the issue with Selene and also talk about the mutation from Alpha Kurtis. Both discussions were important but I was scared that depending on any one that I start talking about, he might withdraw and refuse to speak about it again.

We continued walking until we go to the garden and then I felt Xavier stopped walking. It was only when I had gone a great deal that I realized that he was no longer by my side. Tracing back to where he was, I arched my brow at him

"Why did you stop walking?"

"Because I cannot deal with the silence, Uncle Noah," he said with a amused smile playing on his lips "I know you have an earful for me, so please spill already, the tension is killing me,".

Drawing myself to my full height, I studied him, feeling anger teasing at the edge of my heart "What did you tell Selene?"
