Chapter 352: Chapter 347: Neither Seeking Trouble Nor Fearing It

To a Dragon with a long lifespan, several decades are just a trivial matter. It’s known that Dragons will seek revenge long after being offended or defeated by humanoids, only to find that the ones who wronged or defeated them are already dead, thus they vent their anger on the descendants or hometowns of those humanoids, causing immense harm.

I’ve been transported here for several decades now, longer than I lived on Earth, directly leading many of Leon’s values to become alienated and distorted, but it doesn’t stop him from considering thirty-five years a long time, unless there’s a deep grudge, there’s no need to remember for that long.

A man in luxurious clothing came with assassins seeking revenge. To Leon, this behavior seemed quite petty; even if surrounded, he just found it amusing, saying: "I’m in a pretty good mood now, I can overlook all this if you disperse now, and I’ll pretend nothing happened."

With his Heavenly Eye Technique constantly on, Leon easily saw through the true form of the man in luxurious clothing, yet another Vampire. As long as they avoid direct sunlight during daylight, they can venture out. Although somewhat skilled, they are just moderately so. Combined with the fully armed assassins, in the past, he would have had to flee, but now, it’s like using an ox saber to kill a chicken.

What kind of experience is that? Returning to the beginner village at max level and fleeing from monsters. It’s not out of fear but out of inconvenience. Like a CEO laughing off an impudent remark from a junior employee, it’s not fear of the employee, but the vast gap in status that makes interaction unnecessary.

"Talking big on the verge of death." As the Vampire raised his hand, more than a dozen assassins ambushing in the surroundings lifted their weapons.

Leon glanced at Tassera; he remembered her saying in the past, as long as he didn’t mess up their business, couldn’t make a living, or earn money, anyone could replace Edith, and those powerful figures wouldn’t haggle over such matters... That Vampire could be considered significant, but not a major figure.

Leon had no intention of reminding the other, thirty-five years ago, I could have killed Isis, and I haven’t aged a day in thirty-five years, guess what my identity could be now or how powerful I am. Nor was he interested in who Edith was to them, a sibling or a goddess, worth their decades-long obsession.

"I’ll leave it to you." Leon glanced at Tassera, used a Gathering Form and Scattering Energy to vanish into thin air, and reappeared on the highest rooftop nearby.

Tassera surveyed the scene and picked a target.

Due to frequent Dual Cultivation with Leon, he didn’t use her as a Furnace and she gained considerable benefits from him, enabling her to cast spells quite swiftly. She quickly chanted a Spell, raised her hand to unleash Chain Lightning. Dazzling blue light shot out from her fingers, struck a man wearing leather armor and a mask due to the Vampire’s Invisibility, and then jumped to a man holding a Heavy Crossbow...

Meanwhile, arrows flew out one by one, and a meter-long javelin hurled from a burly man, but all of them struck the invisible Magic Barrier in front of Tassera.

A Barbarian, looking like a bear, roared and charged at Tassera, but halfway there, he saw a silver mist blown away by the wind, and the woman with waist-length, slightly curly hair had vanished.

"I’m here." Tassera used Mysterious Steps to teleport to the rooftop. Considering the scattered distribution of assassins, she didn’t employ Chain Lightning, as Magic Missile was the most effective against such nimble opponents, unleashing a series of glowing Magic Field Arrows.

The techniques may not be novel, but since Magic Missiles were effective, Tassera wasn’t planning to switch spells, sending another series of Magic Missiles, when suddenly she felt a gust behind her. Turning to look, the Vampire had somehow appeared behind her.

With High-level Invisibility Technique combined with Spider Walk, Spider Walk allows the Vampire to climb rugged surfaces, even hanging from ceilings, which is how he managed to appear so suddenly behind Tassera.

Facing a Mage capable of using advanced Chain Lightning, the Vampire dared not be careless nor utter a single word.

He was prepared for failure, yet he never expected his dagger to pierce so effortlessly into the female Mage’s belly.

A Mage who only just used Shield Skill surprisingly had no Protective Magic?

The Vampire found it odd, but with no time to worry, he tightly gripped the dagger and stabbed the female Mage several times. As he watched her stagger and fall from the rooftop, she radiated a brilliant light, soon an enormous Blue Dragon emerged from the white light, opening its huge mouth to bite at him, forcing him to transform into a bat to dodge.

Tassera reverted to Blue Dragon Form, biting missed the Vampire, leaving her a bit frustrated—blame it on her lack of real combat experience from spending all her time lazing around in the Mage Tower, particularly in melee combat—completely ignoring that this was a street, smashing a roof with one claw and toppling a wall with the other...

Tassera growled, released Frightening Majesty, and then inhaled deeply to unleash Lightning Breath.

A single Lightning Breath wrecked half the street, surely claiming the lives of many innocent bystanders. This is a case of a burning city gate, causing harm to the nearby fish in the moat.

Seeing the Blue Dragon appear, the Vampire immediately turned and fled. An enormous Blue Dragon is at least an adult one, and with a Mage around, he couldn’t handle it.

Leon wouldn’t allow the Vampire to escape, raising his hand and unleashing Hand Palm Bomb until the Vampire was reduced to ashes.

Most of the assassins perished under Tassera’s Lightning Breath, though one or two might have escaped, but pursuing them within the city was inconvenient, and Tassera reverted to human form.

Leon leaped down beside Tassera, chuckling, "Aren’t you usually very patient? Typically, you’d first use Mirage, then Strong Illusion, Obscuring Technique, and finally Invisibility Technique to find an opportunity. Why were you so impatient today, immediately using Chain Lightning, and even getting ambushed?"

Tassera rubbed her forehead, saying, "I just considered that this is Crossroads City and those Guild Leaders aren’t to be trifled with, so a swift battle was needed. I didn’t expect they were somewhat skilled."

"Isn’t it just an Ancient Black Dragon or Witch Demon? Haven’t we killed a Sphinx before?" Leon said, "I actually hope they show up."

"I know what you’re aiming for..." Tassera reminded, "We have trade with Crossroads City."

"We don’t have direct trade relations with Crossroads City; we trade with those Talia Alliance guilds, and those guilds trade with Crossroads City." Leon corrected. He might not manage affairs himself, but that doesn’t mean he knows nothing.
