Chapter 344: Chapter 339: The Highlight

Passing on skills is a standard reward, not an advanced one. It only allows skill transfer, not spell transmission. Under these circumstances, Pella can gain part of his cultivation and become stronger but should not be able to master the Sword Control Technique.

Leon furrowed his brow, considering a possibility. He thought that the cultivation he passed on to Pella might include his understanding of spells, giving her the opportunity to learn the Sword Control Technique.

"Is there a problem?" Pella had never seen her master show such a solemn expression.

"No problem, it’s a good thing." Leon reassured, though he couldn’t guarantee his guess was correct, "How did you learn the Sword Control Technique? Did you suddenly feel inspired?"

"I don’t know." Pella gently shook her head, her flaxen long hair swaying softly, "Every time the master used the flying sword, I’d watch and learn, but I never managed to understand. After the master granted me the power, the parts I couldn’t comprehend suddenly made sense. I felt I could give it a try, and then I succeeded... It seems I didn’t succeed after all."

Leon stroked his chin, pondering for a moment. He thought Pella’s Sword Control Technique didn’t seem to come from insight into the cultivation he transferred but mainly from watching him use the Sword Control Technique regularly... Cecilia said her talent was good; it really seemed impressive. As for why others couldn’t learn, the reason was simple—they didn’t have the cultivation that he transferred, so there wasn’t a foundation for using the Sword Control Technique.

Leon felt the new hypothesis was more reasonable. He casually drew a sword, saying, "Watch carefully."

Leon handed over the sword, brought his index and middle fingers together, and controlled the flying sword to roam chaotically, asking, "Did you see clearly?"

Leon suddenly realized something, recalled the flying sword, held it in his hand, and said, "To use the Sword Control Technique, you must first bind a sword, entrusting your spirit to that sword, making the sword an extension of yourself..."

"Are you familiar with the Magic Knight? A Magic Knight can use a ritual to create a connection with a weapon." Leon asked, "Or perhaps the Blade Demon Contract of the Contract Master."

Things like magic connections and Blade Demon Contracts—aside from Leon having read the setting book and played games, and since this world was based on DND, there was also Tassie who liked to read and had time as a dragon to read books; even Cecilia didn’t know much about these.

It was natural that Pella knew nothing, lightly biting her lip and shaking her head.

Leon shared all he knew, then demonstrated how to bind a sword. He then performed some sword moves pointing at Pella, asking, "How about now?"

"I’ll give it a try." Pella raised the sword, imitating, then after a while, lowered her hands, "Still can’t do it."

The Sword Control Technique is just a standard reward, just an ordinary spell, and not easily learned, unless one truly has extraordinary talent, destined for the Legendary Realm. But if Pella had that talent, Cecilia should have recommended her to Leon early on.

Leon did not expect Pella to learn the Sword Control Technique in such a short time. Conversely, if Pella quickly mastered it, he might feel a bit jealous... "I spent a Golden Finger reward to learn the Sword Control Technique; what makes you think you can master it so easily?" he said, "Do you feel any progress?"

"A little bit." Pella replied.

"As long as you feel something, take it slow." The Sword Control Technique is not easy to learn; the Breathing and Exhaling Skill should be easier. However, Leon wasn’t sure where to start; he needed to prepare lessons, "You don’t need to be a maid anymore; take your time to practice the Sword Control Technique."

Leon glanced at Cecilia.

"I’ll arrange it properly." Cecilia nodded.

Leon waved to dismiss Pella and noticed Tassera staring at him intently.

"Aren’t you going to say something?" Tassera asked.

"Say what?" Leon asked knowingly.

Cecilia wrinkled her nose, "Master, don’t pretend."

"Blessings." Tassera, being a greedy dragon, said, "We want blessings too."

"There’s no such thing as a free lunch under the heavens." Leon said softly, "You were there when that Tiefling maid signed a contract, weren’t you?"

Tassera and Cecilia immediately fell silent upon hearing this, unwilling to sign that kind of lifelong subservient contract even if that person was a spouse.

Leon burst into laughter, not minding passing his skills to everyone, but only a little bit, as a key to practicing the Breathing and Exhaling Skill.

The problem now was that his Volcanic Island was merely a geomantic treasure, and if everyone learned the Breathing and Exhaling Skill and competed for nature’s spiritual energy... Sun and Moon Essence wouldn’t be affected, but his efficiency in absorbing nature’s spiritual energy would decrease.

Perhaps when he transformed the Volcanic Island from a geomantic treasure into the Cave Heaven Blessed Land, he could maintain it with his current strength.

Over the next period, Leon would periodically take time to instruct Pella... His Sword Control Technique was learned entirely thanks to the Golden Finger reward, and he wasn’t sure how to teach it. He could only demonstrate repeatedly for Pella to see, thereby teaching her the Breathing and Exhaling Skill, the key to becoming stronger.

Pella’s talent wasn’t top-notch but deserved an excellent rating. It took nearly a month to learn the Breathing and Exhaling Skill, and finally, she could control the sword to fly and attack enemies, though it was far from Leon’s ability to manipulate the flying sword effortlessly upon learning the Sword Control Technique with the Golden Finger reward.

A Contract Master is one who forms a contract with entities from the otherworld. The relationship between a Contract Master and a Sect Master is sometimes akin to that of a Priest and a God, though the Sect Master is not truly a God. These Sect Masters cannot usually attract Priests to serve them, and Contract Masters act as their representatives.

In those settings and games, Contract Masters and Sect Masters include Supreme Fairies, Demon Lords, Great Devils, Noble Genies, Ancient Dominators, etc., but not Dragons. However, Leon was sure it was due to gameplay considerations; otherwise, even Krakens and Witch Demons could become Sect Masters, so Dragons should too, especially powerful ones.

Leon felt that in some respects, he could give Pella power and teach her knowledge, akin to being her Sect Master or a Giant Dragon Sect Master... Considering the power and knowledge he gave Pella had nothing to do with Dragons, it was strictly speaking more like a sect master of a Xianxia or Outer Heaven Demon Sect.

Upon this realization, Leon couldn’t help but smile, then a shocking thing happened.

He heard a ding-dong sound again.

"A teacher instructs in the way, imparts knowledge, and resolves doubts—become a Dragon Mentor or Sect Master."

"Advanced Reward: Sanmei Divine Wind."
