Chapter 326: Chapter 321: Attracting Another One
Leon and Cecilia both agreed that the Sahuagin fishmen were undoubtedly allied with the Dragon Turtle. Among them, the Dragon Turtle must be the one that had previously landed on the Volcanic Island; otherwise, they wouldn’t have had the audacity to attack merchant ships under their protection in the Flash Sea.
But this accusation was a bit unfair to the Dragon Turtle. Ever since it landed on the Volcanic Island and saw a large group of dragons, it knew it couldn’t afford to provoke them. "If I can’t fight them, I can hide!" And so it had fled far away.
The Sahuagin fishmen, aware that the Red Dragon had already attacked Moon Bay, still dared to assault ships under the protection of Watchtower Port—or rather, now under Zhen Dan Kingdom’s protection. The reason was the horrifying creature standing behind them, far more terrifying than the Dragon Turtle—a massive sea monster.
This was a Kraken that called itself Yosasi, a legendary beast of epic proportions. Even the strongest shark couldn’t escape the entanglement of its tentacles. Not a single Sahuagin fishman dared to raise a weapon against it; the only thing they could do was kneel in reverence before its greatness.
At this moment, the Kraken lay sprawled within a cavern in the Dark Deep Sea. Inside the cavern rested a ship it had recently dragged down from the surface, while it relished the offerings brought by the Sahuagin fishmen.
The Kraken possessed formidable spiritual energy, which could be used to spy on the thoughts of others. However, the worried expressions on the Sahuagin fishmen’s faces did not require the use of spiritual energy or psychic sensing. "Speak—why have you come to me today?"
"While my mood is good." The Kraken would sometimes assist its worshipers. When satisfied with its followers, it bestowed abundant fish hauls upon its loyal devotees amidst stormy seas. Yet the Kraken’s ancient, eccentric mind inevitably steered everything toward distortion and destruction.
Some robust, mutated male Sahuagin fishmen had grown a second pair of arms and proclaimed themselves rulers of the Sahuagin seas. One such Sahuagin Baron declared, "Dragons—dragons have appeared. Green Dragons, and Bronze Dragons."
Several ships had encountered trouble on the Flash Sea, prompting Fiora and Cecilia to inevitably go investigate—at least to fly around the area.
Others feared dragons, but as a Titan, the Kraken did not. Even as a juvenile, a Kraken could defeat many adult dragons. And now, as an adult Kraken, it scoffed: "Just two dragons—why the fuss?"
In the past, the Kraken wouldn’t have bothered to inquire about two dragons. If those dragons dared venture into the Deep Sea, it would simply consider them prey for a meal, a chance to savor dragon flesh again. It had been ages since its last dragon feast. But due to a recent encounter with a madman who had beaten it severely, it had abandoned its ancient lair and traveled thousands of miles south to the Flash Sea, determined never to see that lunatic again. That individual’s powers were utterly bizarre.
"Tell me, what are the origins of those two dragons?" The Kraken’s psychic sensing targeted the Sahuagin Baron’s mind. The Baron’s followers, the Sahuagin Fishman Warriors, heard nothing—only stared dumbly.
"Fiora is a meddlesome Bronze Dragon, and Cecilia is a Green Dragon, both adult dragons." Fiora and Cecilia had long resided on a Volcanic Island that Leon had transformed into an auspicious site. Under the influence of nature’s spiritual energy, their physiques grew larger than normal dragons, especially as they were only a few years past reaching adulthood. No wonder the Sahuagin Baron misunderstood. "They’ve pledged allegiance to a dragon named Leon—a strong and peculiar Red Dragon."
The Kraken suddenly felt uneasy. It didn’t know of anyone named Leon; living in the deep sea, it had never encountered a Red Dragon. But that didn’t stop its curiosity about this Red Dragon: "Why call it peculiar?"
"The Cliff Sword." The Sahuagin Baron bubbled as it spoke. "That Red Dragon’s nickname is the Cliff Sword, because it wields a weapon—a sword."
"Are you sure you’re not lying to me?" The Kraken stared at the Sahuagin Baron.
"Of course not," the Baron hastily replied. "That Red Dragon recently established a kingdom called Zhen Dan. Under its command are two Red Dragons, one Blue Dragon, one Green Dragon, one Brass Dragon, one Bronze Dragon, and even an Efreeti..."
The Sahuagin Baron’s information was slightly outdated; living in the depths of the sea afforded little opportunity to venture ashore and observe. It didn’t know that Leon had recently acquired a Silver Dragon as part of his entourage.
The Sahuagin Baron divulged all the details it knew, but the Kraken showed little reaction upon hearing them.
The Sahuagin fishmen continued attacking ships on the Flash Sea. However, without the Kraken’s assistance, they couldn’t succeed every time.
The Kraken attacked ships purely out of whims, targeting vessels daring to sail above its dominion. Its ultimate dream was to stretch its tentacles toward the heavens and strangle their creator. Alas, achieving this dream seemed impossible, leaving it to settle for seizing passing ships.
Day by day, time passed. The Kraken left its deep-sea cavern again, hunted a Sperm Whale, attacked a cargo-laden ship, and extended its powerful tentacles from the depths to grasp the enormous cargo. Suddenly sensing something, it surfaced, revealing its sinister fish-like head.
What was that scent?
It wasn’t an aroma discernible through smell. Instead, it was a fragrance capable of making souls tremble—an abundant, formidable energy.
The Kraken’s regeneration was exceptional; the tentacles it had lost in its last battle had long since regrown. However, the newly sprouted tentacles still felt somewhat frail.
The Kraken was certain that consuming the source of the fragrance would quickly restore its body to perfect condition and elevate its power further.
Abandoning the ship, it swam toward the direction of the scent. Eventually, it came across a peculiar Volcanic Island, which seemed like a perfect lair. Without hesitation, it climbed onto the island and moved toward the volcano.
Salamanders emerged, only to be swept aside by the Kraken’s tentacles.
"What’s going on outside?" Leon was refining in the alchemy room when he heard a loud commotion.
"Has that Dragon Turtle grown bold and dared to come back?" Leon understood that the process of refining a Heavenly Immortal Pill would release an alluring elixir fragrance—irresistible to many creatures. "Or could it be someone else?"
"Brother, go look quickly!" Salovis burst into the alchemy room, shouting, "We can’t handle that colossal beast."
Leon tilted his head slightly: "Hm?"
Back when the Dragon Turtle wandered the seas, it was drawn to the elixir’s scent and headed straight for the Volcanic Island. Just after reaching shore, it saw several dragons staring at it. It immediately turned to flee back to the sea, its stubby legs spinning frantically. Kraken now witnessed dragons soaring into the sky, circling overhead without fear, as it waved its tentacles, throwing out one Lightning Beam after another.
