Tale of the Red Dragon Without Dragon’s Might
Chapter 325 - 320: New Incident

Chapter 325: Chapter 320: New Incident

Leon had the habit of finishing his work first before enjoying uninterrupted, stress-free moments of happiness. The only issue was that sometimes, work never seemed to end.

As usual, Leon entrusted the task of procuring rare alchemy materials to Cecilia. While Cecilia was indeed a cunning Green Dragon, decades had proved her loyalty, and most importantly, she was his woman.

The Frost Giants offered compensation of several thousand Gold Coins, along with a large amount of supplies. Those supplies, valued at over a hundred thousand, weren’t urgent to deal with, so they were tossed into the warehouse on Volcanic Island to be sold off when funds were needed.

Kidnapping Isily from the Belen Kingdom and bringing her to Watchtower Port was purely a whim. Leon still hadn’t figured out what to do with her, so he simply handed her over to Fiora. If anything went wrong, it’d be on Fiora to handle.

The docks at Watchtower Port were starting to run out of space. The city hall had filed applications for funding to expand the docks. At the same time, the population rushing into Watchtower Port was growing, making things a bit crowded—something that had to be dealt with. Smaller issues could be left to Prime Minister Cecilia to handle, but major matters, especially those requiring large amounts of funding, had to be decided by Leon.

Were it not for the rewards from the Golden Finger, Leon really wouldn’t have much interest in kingdom-building. He wasn’t particularly power-hungry; his focus was on strength. After all, as the saying goes: power comes from the barrel of the gun, and truth resides within the range of the cannon. With strength, anything could be his.

Leon had always been rather invested in Angelista’s path as an Element Master, since he had to depend on her fire to refine Heavenly Immortal Pills. Unfortunately, Angelista was extremely lazy and had made little to no progress up to now. It seemed her Golden Core was still stuck in mere aspiration, leaving her capable of only refining Small Rejuvenation Pills.

Leon had thought he could take a few days’ break after returning to Watchtower Port, but surprisingly, so much awaited his attention—no wonder, after having spent three months away. It’d take more than a few days to sort everything out.

After hustling for several days, Leon’s life finally returned to quietude: good meals, good drinks, good sleep, and good entertainment every day.

Before long, the event occurred—a month after Leon returned to Watchtower Port.

"Your Majesty Leon, forgive my intrusion."

The Silver Dragon Grianna, the Cloud Giants’ friend who dwelled in the Lost Plateau, suddenly paid a visit. It wasn’t entirely unexpected for Leon.

"You’re here for Isily, aren’t you?" Leon lazily reclined on the sofa, thinking about how many eyes must be trained on his Volcanic Island. Isily’s identity could be concealed for a time, but not for long.

"I heard you kidnapped a Silver Dragon from the Belen Kingdom named Isily." Grianna listened to Leon’s indifferent remarks without reacting much, since he had long been aware of Leon’s dissatisfaction with him. The reason was simple: as a Silver Dragon, Grianna had always avoided engaging with Leon, rarely approaching Watchtower Port under typical circumstances.

"I have a slight familial connection with her..." Grianna, otherwise unwilling, had no choice but to show up today.

"How does a Silver Dragon from the Lost Plateau have a familial connection with a Silver Dragon from the Belen Kingdom?" Leon’s gaze flicked over Grianna’s human form. "Your territories are thousands of kilometers apart—far, even for dragons."

"Silver Dragons always avoid seeking mates within their own clan. Inter-clan mating is strictly taboo," Grianna sighed. "Though our clans’ territories may be thousands of kilometers apart—for dragons, not a short distance—it’s still possible to have familial ties."

"Given that we once fought against Angmog together, and you’re a friend of the Cloud Giants..." Leon said, "I can guarantee her safety, unless she gets herself into trouble."

"I know Silver Dragons are much more united than other dragons, often forming clans, electing an elder to provide advice and resolve disputes, coordinating activities as a collective when needed," Leon remarked, fixing his gaze on Grianna. "The winners get to decide what happens, but don’t lose. That would be your best option."

"I wouldn’t dare." Grianna bowed his head. Years spent on the Lost Plateau had taught him how formidable Leon truly was. "Can I see Isily?"

"Feel free." Leon responded indifferently, "I hadn’t restricted her movements to begin with."

Leon himself didn’t know why, but after abducting Isily, he’d essentially ignored her, leaving her plenty of opportunities to escape. Yet Isily never actually left.

First Fiora, and now Grianna—Isily indeed seemed to have many people concerned about her. Metal Dragons were just different. If it were a Colorful Dragon instead, not a single Colorful Dragon would care about the fate of another.

What Grianna and Isily talked about during their meeting was unknown to Leon, nor did he care. At times, he would wish for others to stir up some trouble, just so he could take the moral high ground and retaliate justifiably. Otherwise, his life was much too peaceful and dull.

Two months passed like that, and Leon finally obtained the alchemy materials he had been waiting for. After spending almost all of the treasure he had plundered from the Kraken, he was eager to begin refining pills.

Human Elixirs were relatively easy to refine. Even the most complicated Human Elixirs, like the Elixir of Immortality, wouldn’t take more than a few days of effort. Heavenly Immortal Pills, on the other hand, required at least forty-nine days.

Before he had even reached the halfway point of refining the Heavenly Immortal Pills, Leon saw an annoyed-looking Cecilia enter.

"Did something happen?" Leon asked.

"Nothing too serious." Cecilia replied, "The Gold Shore Chamber of Commerce sent word that their ships were attacked by Sahuagin in the Flash Sea..."

"Those Sahuagin dare to be so bold?" Leon furrowed his brows. "Didn’t you and Fiora talk to them before? Weren’t they much more subdued afterward?"

"It’s been too long since they’ve been reminded of their place." Leon continued, "Take the trouble to meet with them again. You and Fiora can spare some time for the trip."

"We wouldn’t dare." Cecilia said, "After doing some investigations, we found that it wasn’t just the Gold Shore Chamber of Commerce’s ships that were attacked. Ships from other chambers of commerce were also targeted. All that remained were floating wooden planks and debris as proof the ships had once passed through. Not a single survivor, no trace of the ships themselves."

"The Sahuagin aren’t capable of something like that." Cecilia nodded toward Leon. "Do you recall the Dragon Turtle that briefly appeared before? I suspect the Sahuagin have formed a partnership with it."

Dragon Turtles, noted for their intelligence, were known to accept bribes. Pirates navigating waters frequented by Dragon Turtles would learn quickly to offer treasures to ensure safe passage.

Clever Sahuagin sometimes allied with Dragon Turtles, enticing them with benefits to use their steam Breath in support of raiding ships and coastal villages.

"That possibility isn’t out of the question." Leon said, "If the Sahuagin really do have a Dragon Turtle backing them, it might embolden them to ignore our presence and attack ships in the Flash Sea."

"If it’s an Adult Dragon Turtle," Cecilia added, "at least underwater, Fiora and I wouldn’t dare make any moves."

"Leave this matter to me. Once I’m done with the alchemy, I’ll deal with them." Ever since mastering the 72 Transformations, Leon had no fear of aquatic battles. He’d refrained from going after the Sahuagin before simply because he didn’t want the hassle. But now that they dared to provoke him, he wouldn’t mind teaching them a lesson.

"Let them enjoy their arrogance for now." Leon dismissed the thought, uninterested in worrying further.
