Chapter 286: Chapter 282: The Territory is Too Small
Upgrading from rifles to cannons, a complete equipment overhaul, Leon pondered what task he could take on, yet he remained uncertain about what to do... Strictly speaking, there were plenty of things he could do.
The Volcanic Island was currently a prime location, though it was still some distance away from being a hidden paradise, let alone a heavenly realm. He could consider transforming the Volcanic Island.
It should be noted that he was currently using refined gold weapons. While these refined gold weapons were of an exceedingly rare grade, above the exceedingly rare category lay legendary weapons and divine artifacts. With his current strength, he could even consider laying claim to divine artifacts, not to mention legendary weapons. His weapons could still be upgraded further.
Additionally, he could gather alchemy materials to refine Heavenly Immortal Pills. Each Heavenly Immortal Pill could visibly enhance his strength, and just five or ten pills would be enough to raise his challenge level.
...
Transforming the Volcanic Island required an immense amount of resources. Just turning it into a prime location had already cost him 500,000 gold coins—a sum sufficient to craft several Heavenly Immortal Pills. Rare forging and alchemy materials were difficult to find, rarely available for purchase on the market, and he had no leads to personally acquire them.
Indeed, there were numerous tasks he could undertake, but he didn’t know where to start. As a result, he ended up doing nothing.
Leon spent an entire day in frustration, unable to figure out what he could do. The next day, he somehow found himself wandering into his study, standing in front of the massive map hanging on the wall.
This enormous map wasn’t a world map; it was a regional map that included areas like the Red Crown Desert, the Lost Plateau, Watchtower Port, Flash Sea, Danalan, the Talia Alliance, and more—but Moon Bay wasn’t even on it.
Leon’s gaze fell upon Watchtower Port, and he suddenly felt his territory was too small. It was just one port along with the nearby forest... Though he was called the Master of Flash Sea, he had hardly any control over it. The underwater Sahuagin didn’t answer to him at all.
A young dragon’s territory might be the size of a small village; a teenage dragon’s should be at least the size of a township. Subsequently, a young dragon and adult dragon should command a territory at least the size of a county. Leon figured his territory should grow larger—it was about time.
Leon’s gaze lingered on the Lost Plateau for a moment before quickly shifting away disdainfully—the environment there was too harsh. Even the dwarves could only live in the low-altitude outskirts, and even if they unearthed any minerals, transporting them would be near impossible. His eyes then fell upon the large region connecting Watchtower Port to the Talia Alliance.
The treaties were already signed, so casually reneging wasn’t an option. Leon couldn’t touch Elf City Danalan or its surrounding forests. However, there were still plenty of forests and swamps left to conquer. Both forests and swamps signified resources, which could, in turn, be sold at Watchtower Port for profit. With the resulting wealth, he would have freedom to pursue whatever he desired.
Determined to act, Leon immediately summoned Cecilia.
"Master, what do you need?" Cecilia, evidently growing more indulgent, joked flirtatiously, "Broad daylight—how bold. But whatever Master desires, Cecilia is willing to oblige."
"Serious matters," Leon interrupted her, though he couldn’t deny that his desires had noticeably increased since stepping into the young dragon stage.
Cecilia quickly composed herself and asked, "What kind of serious matters?"
"How many people do we have under us right now?" Leon asked.
Cecilia followed Leon’s gaze to the map before she glanced at his profile, faintly guessing his intentions. "Master wants to expand the territory, doesn’t he?" she said.
"It’s been so many years. It’s time to expand the territory," Leon responded. "With my current strength, I qualify for a larger domain."
"Master’s strength is sufficient to dominate an entire continent," Cecilia remarked, proving her intelligence hadn’t dulled after their growing intimacy. She remained adept at offering emotional support.
"Conquering an entire continent is an exaggeration. My strength isn’t that unrivaled—not against those lofty gods. I might not be just a random creature anymore, but I’m far from truly powerful. I’m strong enough to stand my ground, but that’s about it," Leon admitted humbly.
"I believe Master will soon reduce even the gods to nothing under his feet," Cecilia said.
"That may take some time," Leon chuckled. "No need to flatter me so much."
Smiling, Cecilia approached the map, pointing to various spots. "Here, the Yuan-Ti enslave some Four-Armed Ape Monsters, with the most formidable being a powerful Curse Snake Man. Over there lies a swamp inhabited by a venomous adult Black Dragon. And this area holds an adult Green Dragon..."
"Our greatest enemy occupies... roughly this region—a venerable old Green Dragon known as ’Ghost Forest Nightmare,’" Cecilia noted. "He’s not just any old Green Dragon. He’s been renowned for decades and continues to threaten the Talia Alliance."
"Is he stronger than Su Ausis?" Leon asked, reasoning that a typical old Green Dragon was hardly a concern, comparable to a mature Red Dragon like Angmog—if not inferior, considering Angmog had later ascended into a Blood Scale Frenzy state.
"I don’t know," Cecilia admitted. "His domain lies far from Watchtower Port, and I haven’t sent spies. What I know is purely hearsay."
Leon studied the map. "Given that his land borders the Talia Alliance and he’s stood firm all this time, he must be somewhat capable," he remarked.
"He alone isn’t worth worrying over—I don’t believe he’s a match for Master," Cecilia said gravely. "What concerns me is that if we show any signs of expansion, those others might unite to deal with us."
"Even if they join forces... we have three Red Dragons, one Blue Dragon, and one Green Dragon to rely on," Leon said confidently. "Bronze Dragons find warfare fascinating and prefer fighting for just causes. We’ll be battling Evil Dragons, and Fiora might lend her aid."
Cecilia nodded and asked, "When do we start?"
"Anytime," Leon replied.
"I’ll return now and organize the troops," Cecilia said, satisfied with their current domain yet unsurprisingly eager for more.
"No rush," Leon said. "When I asked how many people we have, it wasn’t to rely on them for battle—I alone am an army. Instead, I need them to manage the expanded territory. I’ve no interest in dealing with chaotic goblin hordes myself."
"I’ll handle this alone. It’s been far too long since I’ve had a good workout," Leon declared, stretching lazily. "That so-called Ghost Forest Nightmare—I hope he proves entertaining enough for me."
