Chapter 264: Chapter 262: Unparalleled in Mowing Down Enemies
Leon could, of course, ignore those skeletons and focus solely on attacking Suosys. However, as a spellcaster, Suosys wouldn’t foolishly stand still for Leon to strike him. He would hide among the skeleton warriors, perched atop the shoulders of the Skull Giant.
The skeleton warriors and skull cavalry summoned by Suosys from beneath the desert sands were stronger than ordinary skeletons. Yet, no matter how strong ants become, they are still ants. However, the principle of overwhelming numbers remains—if the ants are many enough, even an elephant can be brought down. These skeletons were truly like ants: fearless, never retreating even if many of them were destroyed.
The skeleton warriors and skull cavalry weren’t particularly intimidating, but those catapults that used screaming skulls as ammunition were certainly not to be underestimated. The Skull Giants were no weaker than young dragons, but thankfully their numbers were few. Of the four dragons, only Leon, with his Vajra Body, could ignore their attacks. The others needed to be cautious.
For Leon, whether it was Tassera, Cecilia, or Salovis, all of them were important to him and could not be lost. To lose even one of them would mean failure. So he thought it best to simply "send them away"—after all, they couldn’t provide much help and might even get in his way—in order to seize the chance to test his Three Heads and Six Arms transformation.
Activating the Vajra Body and unlocking Three Heads and Six Arms, his mana consumption started ramping up noticeably.
Not a second was to be wasted. Before the three-headed dragon could even fly far, Leon was already swinging his weapons, unleashing a massacre. With a single horizontal slash, he smashed through a dozen skeleton warriors.
It was outrageous enough for a red dragon to wield a sword, but a red dragon with Three Heads and Six Arms swinging six swords? Even the most experienced or well-traveled individuals had never seen such a sight, nor had they ever heard of it. Suosys was no exception. He exclaimed, "Are you a Marilith or a red dragon?"
"What do you think?" Leon retorted.
"What kind of spell is that?" As a top-tier spellcaster, Suosys could immediately tell that the red dragon’s transformation into a being with three heads and six arms was caused by a spell, even if he hadn’t seen the exact moment when the extra heads and arms appeared.
Although transformation magic wasn’t Suosys’s specialization, he did know many spells in the field. These could alter appearances, body sizes, or features—like sprouting gills and webbed fingers—or even create claws, fangs, spikes, or horns. The Complete Transformation Technique could even turn objects into living beings, and vice versa.
"It’s just the Three Heads and Six Arms spell," Leon laughed.
Originally, Leon had only a single sword. Now, with the Three Heads and Six Arms transformation, he wielded six swords, multiplying his attack frequency sixfold. With three heads, he could ensure that not a single enemy around him escaped his notice. In mere moments, the skeleton warriors near him had been slashed, chopped, or swept into fragments so fine they could be carried away by the wind.
"Your army is pathetic," Leon mocked.
"This feels great, absolutely exhilarating!"
"More, I need more!"
"Bring them over faster; there aren’t enough for me to kill!"
Leon had forgotten about Suosys, utterly lost in the ecstasy of slaughter.
It felt to him as if he were playing a roguelike mowing game, with endless waves of monsters filling the screen. Wherever he walked, he killed. Every second, dozens of monsters fell, yet even more surged forward, which only led to more carnage.
A squad of skull cavalry charged at him with their heavy cavalry spears. Leon’s tail flicked, sending them all flying.
The skeleton archers launched a rain of arrows from above. But for Leon, who had activated his Vajra Body, those arrows were no different from harmless raindrops.
Continually being attacked wasn’t ideal either. Leon strode toward a battalion of a hundred skeleton archers. With a horizontal slash, another horizontal slash, and yet another—six consecutive horizontal slashes—followed by three bites and a tail strike, he dismantled their formation completely.
Leon paid no attention to Suosys, but that didn’t stop Suosys from keeping his eyes locked on Leon.
Standing on the Skull Giant’s shoulder, Suosys commanded it to lift a massive bow, pulling out one of its ribs to use as an arrow. When the shot landed squarely on its target, the result was merely a slight stagger from Leon, with no other effect.
The Screaming Skull Catapults hurled screaming skulls, which traced arcs through the air.
But even the attacks from the Screaming Skull Catapults failed to harm the red dragon; there wasn’t the slightest reaction. Suosys narrowed his eyes slightly as he observed this.
Suosys decided to intervene personally. He unleashed a Death Finger at the red dragon. Watching it hit, he expected the dragon to writhe in agony on the ground, but instead, it didn’t even momentarily halt its strikes. Frustrated, Suosys retaliated with a Dissociation Technique. When that failed to take effect, he switched to Otiluke’s Freezing Sphere.
Leon merely glanced at the freezing burst of energy shot from Suosys’s fingertips, showing no intention to dodge it. In fact, he dove into a cluster of skeleton warriors, using the freeze ball to help him clear them out. The explosion wiped out a huge area.
"Come on, keep firing at me," Leon taunted. With his Vajra Body activated, he feared nothing and no one.
"I don’t believe you’re invincible," Suosys spat, waving his hand. A thick, winding bolt of lightning, as wide as an arm, appeared and snaked toward Leon like a venomous serpent.
Was this Chain Lightning or some other spell?
Although the Vajra Body allowed Leon to ignore all of Suosys’s spells, he couldn’t help but marvel at the variety of spells Suosys had mastered. The sheer number of potent spells he employed was staggering.
It was difficult to tell which of these spells Suosys had mastered on his own and which he had cast using magic items or scrolls.
While Leon was merely surprised, Suosys was genuinely shocked. Dark Erosion, force fields, freezing, lightning, strong acid... Did none of these have any effect on that red dragon?
