Tale of the Red Dragon Without Dragon’s Might -
Chapter 251 - 249 Chain Reaction
Chapter 251: Chapter 249 Chain Reaction
Leon had considered beforehand that looting Moon Bay, a Pirate City, would definitely yield an immense wealth of resources. But obtaining close to 400,000 Gold Coins, countless gemstones and pearls, numerous Magic Items, plus three full ships of goods was still within his expectations.
What he hadn’t anticipated was that robbing Moon Bay would earn him a Golden Finger reward, and a high-level one at that. This completely caught Leon off guard.
Since when did a dragon, upon gaining power, not raid a few cities or kingdoms?
The bards’ tales about dragons destroying kingdoms and seizing their treasures often referenced the Red Dragon. After all, only the Red Dragon had both the looks and the strength, combined with its chaotic and evil nature to act as it pleased. Could you count on an orderly Blue Dragon or Green Dragon, or the meek Black Dragon and White Dragon, to pull something like that?
Thinking this way, Leon became a bit clearer about earning his Golden Finger reward.
Although just getting the reward was good enough, it would still be ideal to figure out the reason behind it if possible.
"Three Heads and Six Arms..."
Leon murmured to himself. He thought of the Three Heads and Six Arms ability, which stemmed from classic mythical novels like *Journey to the West* and others. Its main user was Nezha, who could transform into a Dharma Body with three heads and six arms, wielding six weapons to attack enemies with unparalleled might. It symbolized unparalleled divine skills and immense magical power, and was regarded as a famous Transformation Technique of celestial beings.
"Three heads and six arms, three heads. The Five-headed Dragon Queen, five heads..."
For no clear reason, Leon thought of Tiamat, the Evil Dragon Queen of the Colorful Dragons, who had five heads—two more than him. And hers were innate, not a Transformation Technique, nor did they require mental exertion or Mana consumption to maintain. Moreover, she could unleash five different types of Breath attacks, whereas he couldn’t muster even one, only resorting to biting.
"Three Heads and Six Arms, six arms. The Six-Armed Snake Demon also has six arms..."
Leon recalled that the Marilith had six arms, and each arm could wield a venomous blade. It was undoubtedly a fearsome opponent on any battlefield, rarely finding itself matched, capable of delivering six Longsword strikes in one round. Its offensive output was nothing short of terrifying.
A "mini-Tiamat," a "Great Six-Armed Snake Demon"?
Leon suddenly burst out laughing.
*Well, then, let’s see if this horse is worth the ride.* To know the strength of the Three Heads and Six Arms ability, one had to put it to the test.
Leon, uncaring of where he was or whether anyone was watching, eagerly activated the Dharma Body of Three Heads and Six Arms. He instantly felt an additional dragon head grow from either shoulder, each identical to his original. Then, beneath his wings, two new arms grew along each side, their joints pointing in reverse directions.
Leon swung his arms and retrieved a massive mirror from the small space within his Sleeve of the Universe, then examined himself in the reflection...
In a standing pose, his Three Heads and Six Arms form projected an awe-inspiring majesty.
In a crawling posture, however, the four extra arms couldn’t reach the ground. They were either held aloft as actual arms or repurposed as additional appendages, like how a Centaur’s four legs were supported by two human hands, or a mantis had bladed arms beyond its legs.
The effect was both bizarre and oddly harmonious.
Leon wrinkled his nose suddenly, realizing that since a dragon’s wings technically counted as limbs, didn’t that make him Three Heads and Eight Arms?
In mythology, Nezha’s Dharma Body was depicted in both Six-Armed and Eight-Armed forms. Legend had it that the Eight-Armed Nezha could subdue the Evil Dragon haunting Bitter Sea Youzhou, and it was from here that Eight-Armed Nezha City, known today as Beijing City, got its name.
Regardless of whether Nezha’s Dharma Body had six arms or eight, the key point wasn’t aesthetics—it was the power boost it provided.
With three heads, Leon could see in three directions at once. In his Three Heads and Six Arms state, he could now perceive his surroundings in all directions, with no fear of being ambushed from behind—unless his enemies could attack him from underground.
Now that he could wield Three Heads and Six Arms, mastering control over three heads and six arms came effortlessly.
Leon discovered the crucial takeaway from mastering Three Heads and Six Arms—he had learned to multitask. He could split his concentration to utilize the full potential of his ability.
"Multitask..."
Leon’s heart suddenly raced as a thought struck him—Sword Control Technique.
His use of the Sword Control Technique relied on binding his spirit to a sword, channeling his focus into it. Since he could only bind one sword before, he had always been limited to controlling just one flying sword at a time.
Now that he learned to multitask, didn’t this mean he could split his focus and bind multiple swords simultaneously, wielding many flying swords all at once?
"Swords, where are my swords?"
Bursting with anticipation, Leon jumped into action. His Catastrophe Blade was still with the Elves, but since looting Moon Bay, he had acquired plenty of swords. Although these were too small for humanoid usage, they would suffice for experimentation.
Leon quickly gathered six swords, including Envis’s Sword and several from the pirates. He focused his mind, splitting his concentration to bind each blade... It wasn’t an unrealistic dream. He succeeded, binding his spirit to multiple swords. With a flick of his finger, he easily lifted six swords into the air under his control.
"No issues binding six swords. How about more?"
"I need to try. I absolutely must try."
Leon fetched even more swords and began experimenting with splitting his focus to bind them. In his heart, his ultimate dream was to bind ten thousand swords and activate "All Swords Return to One." It would surely look explosively cool.
It worked.
There were no problems.
He could bind even more swords. The only drawback was that each additional sword he bound added to his mental burden, easily causing mental exhaustion.
Spending half a day on experiments, Leon finally grasped the ins and outs of Three Heads and Six Arms—
Just like activating his Vajra Body, initiating the Three Heads and Six Arms Dharma Body drained his Mana continuously.
Once in the Three Heads and Six Arms state, he needn’t worry about blind spots. Additionally, each head and arm could act independently to attack, massively boosting his attack speed. Even a Marilith was child’s play compared to him, as his three heads could bite down while his six arms launched attacks.
A delightful surprise was that mastering Three Heads and Six Arms allowed him to simultaneously comprehend the art of multitasking. With it, he could bind multiple swords at once, wielding and controlling numerous flying swords simultaneously.
Leon reflected on the challenges that came with it. Every Spell consumed Mana. The Three Heads and Six Arms ability burned through Mana no slower than his Vajra Body. And if he wanted to control multiple flying swords, his Mana consumption would skyrocket far beyond its previous levels. Sustaining it would become a real struggle.
He didn’t dare imagine a scenario where he activated Vajra Body first, then switched to Three Heads and Six Arms, and finally cast Downy Hairs by ripping off a scale. How much Mana would remain at his disposal?
On top of that, to truly maximize the potential of Three Heads and Six Arms, he’d need to prepare two additional Dragon’s Jaws. One Catastrophe Blade wouldn’t suffice; he’d need at least five more of such weapons, if not more.
Refurbishing the Volcanic Island would cost him enormously, and now the gear upgrades required to complement his Three Heads and Six Arms would cost even more. Although his earnings had increased significantly, his spending had started to grow even faster.
