Tale of the Red Dragon Without Dragon’s Might
Chapter 148 - 147: Playing Around

Chapter 148: Chapter 147: Playing Around

Efreeti initially refused to leave the Molten Lava Lake, heading alone to Watchtower Port by the Volcanic Island on the Flash Sea, to awaken the volcano there for fear of enemies attempting to stop him.

First, he feared the adventurers; weak adventurers couldn’t even beat a goblin, but strong adventurers could slay a dragon without a second thought. Second, he feared the Marid as Celestial Creatures seldom exist on the Material Plane. Lastly, he feared the bronze dragon, who as a Metal Dragon harbors a strong sense of justice, unlike the indifferent Colorful Dragon who remains uninvolved.

Given this situation, it wasn’t surprising to Leon that the righteous female knight suddenly transformed into a bronze dragon. Although they barely spoke when they first met and were at a distance without time for a proper observation, he initially didn’t see through the true identity of the female knight.

Moreover, Leon was a bit concerned about something else; weren’t bronze dragons known for their inability to shape-shift into humans, preferring to transform into friendly small animals, always tinkering with pointless fur... Surely, he couldn’t be implying that the female knight’s thick hair corresponded with that hobby, resembling a golden-maned lion king.

"What is this..."

"First a bronze dragon, now a Red Dragon has appeared..."

"There’s not even this much swing in a stage play..."

"Whoever wrote this script is really messing with us..."

"Please, let there be a Golden Dragon next..."

"We were really foolish; that Molten Salamander Warrior clearly stated that the Efreeti was merely an assistant, and the Dragon Vein Mage was the main lead. How could a mere Dragon Vein Mage control such a powerful, evil Efreeti? Only a Red Dragon, an even fiercer and more evil Red Dragon could do it, how did we not think of this sooner..."

Seeing the female knight suddenly become a bronze dragon assured them of victory in this battle; even the Efreeti seemed insignificant. The bard, who kept laughing happily until he saw the Dragon Vein Mage transform into a huge Red Dragon, larger and stronger than the bronze dragon, was truly desperate and wanted to howl.

A huge Red Dragon that could use spells - they were all doomed, including perhaps Watchtower Port, as no one could escape this disaster.

"Red Dragon, it’s actually a Red Dragon!"

"We won."

At this moment, the Molten Salamander Contract Mage realized why an Efreeti would obey a human; the human was the Red Dragon. Fortunate that they hadn’t resisted earlier, as a single Efreeti wouldn’t stand a chance, let alone against a Red Dragon.

The Molten Salamander Contract Mage didn’t mind the loss of an arm and a tail; as an amphibian, it might not regenerate as quickly as a Troll, but given time, everything would grow back.

"Red Dragon, you are actually a Red Dragon."

The bronze dragon stared at Leon, thinking no wonder she always felt a kinship with him, assuming it was because he was a Dragon Vein Mage.

Kinship is kinship, but an enemy is still an enemy. This was a Red Dragon, the greatest of the Great Evil Dragon, the highest-ranking Colorful Dragon; the bronze dragon couldn’t help but tense up all over.

Yes, the bronze dragon could see that although the Red Dragon was just a teenage dragon, its size was already that of a young dragon, and having just displayed a variety of spells, it dared not underestimate him.

"Who did you call a Red Dragon? I’m not a Red Dragon. Can’t you really tell? I’m a Ruby Dragon." If not for the female knight turning into a bronze dragon, Leon in human form might have struggled against a bronze dragon and truly didn’t want to revert to Dragon Form.

After reverting to Dragon Form, he didn’t care about a young bronze dragon anymore; at his current level, a young bronze dragon was nothing to him, he could manipulate it however he wanted.

To catch his attention and be truly taken seriously, nothing less than a Mature Bronze Dragon, and a strong one at that, would suffice... Speaking of which, why does he always encounter young dragons? Perhaps because young dragons are more active? Compared to them, very young dragons dared not be too reckless, and older dragons lacked the motivation to cause trouble.

"You said you are a Ruby Dragon?"

The bronze dragon, hearing Leon’s words, fell into doubt because the scales of the dragon across from her indeed didn’t seem like those of a Red Dragon; they looked like magnificent rubies without the smell of sulfur and floating stone, feeling more like something between a fairy and Celestial Creatures... But aside from scales and aura, it looked so much like a Red Dragon.

As Leon talked with the bronze dragon, Wanderer wanted to sneak away. Handling an Efreeti was barely manageable but fighting a Red Dragon was madness, even with a bronze dragon to assist, not to mention the Efreeti could come over to support anytime.

Leon keenly noticed Stealth trying to sneak off and said, "Don’t move. I’ll kill anyone who does."

With that statement from Leon, Wanderer immediately lost all thought of escaping. However, he also caught another implication from Leon’s words – the Red Dragon might not kill them.

The bronze dragon, an honest child by nature, took a while to seriously consider Leon’s joking statement, saying, "I’ve только听说有紫晶龙,水晶龙,翡翠龙,蓝宝石龙和黄玉龙... I’ve never heard of a Ruby Dragon."

"Such ignorance." Leon disdainfully said, "Do you know about Sadivo?"

Since Sadivo was already dead beyond revival and couldn’t come to trouble him, Leon didn’t mind mentioning his name outright.

"Sadivo..." The bronze dragon muttered. "Are you talking about Gem Dragon King Sadivo?"

"Yes." Leon asked, "What kind of dragon is the Gem Dragon King Sadivo?"

"Vermilion Dragon..."

"Ruby Dragon..."

The bronze dragon tried hard to recall the legends about the Gem Dragon King Sadivo.

"Ruby Dragon Sadivo, his true form is a slender and strong giant dragon, covered with deep ruby-colored scales. From a distance, he is often mistaken for an Ancient Red Dragon." Leon stood up, spread his arms and wings, "Now tell me, am I not a Ruby Dragon?"

"Think with your little brain." Leon chuckled, "Would a Red Dragon use Lightning Magic? Would a chaotic evil Red Dragon be so calm and talk to you?"

"If I were a Red Dragon, I would have killed you all by now, and then feasted to my heart’s content." Leon revealed a fierce smile.

The bronze dragon felt somewhat confused, genuinely unable to determine what dragon was before her. After a while, she responded, "Even if you are a Ruby Dragon, you cannot awaken the volcano, because the eruption poses great danger."

"So I can’t have a home?" Leon countered.

"No one is stopping you from building a nest." The bronze dragon said seriously, "But you cannot awaken the volcano."

"If I were a Ruby Dragon..." Leon said, "do you think I have the ability to suppress this volcano, ensuring it won’t erupt wildly? Would you still stop me then?"

"I don’t know anymore." The bronze dragon kept shaking her head.

Leon laughed heartily, unable to contain his amusement.

Suddenly, Leon felt that he might be able to deceive others into thinking he was a Ruby Dragon, which could effectively reduce the malice others had towards him. But upon closer reflection, a dragon similar to Sadivo would attract countless prying eyes, so he decided against it.

He was still a teenage dragon, with just enough Mana, a high Challenge Level, qualified to occupy a kingdom-sized territory and reign supreme. But against those ancient monsters... He wouldn’t dare provoke a Balor.

Alright, Balor isn’t some small fry either, also an ancient and terrifying symbol of evil, often commanding the armies of Demon Lords.

"You really are foolish." Leon was done playing, "Whatever I say, you believe. I’m just a Red Dragon, can you really not see it? Aside from the scales, in what way do I not resemble a Red Dragon?"

"You, you’ve been deceiving me?" the bronze dragon said angrily.

"I have been deceiving you, what are you going to do about it?" Leon said mockingly, "Come and hit me."

The bronze dragon didn’t speak; she truly didn’t dare to rashly attack such a large Red Dragon.

Leon walked over to the bronze dragon, fearless, raised his claw, and slapped the bronze dragon’s head, showing no mercy towards females or Mother Dragons, he said:

"I didn’t come looking for trouble with you, but you turned it around on me. Am I that easy to bully? Just a mere young bronze dragon, utterly clueless about the heavens and earth, others might think you’re some Ancient Dragon. If you were an Ancient Dragon, I’d turn around and leave right now."

Now that he had revealed his true nature, it seemed he could no longer disguise it, Leon unapologetically stated, "This Volcanic Island is mine, I will awaken that volcano, Watchtower Port too; it’s destined to be mine, I want control over that town."

"If it weren’t for you bothering me, I was actually thinking of going to Watchtower Port in a bit of time, everyone could still live peacefully for a month or two." Leon shook his head and sighed, "All because of you, do you feel no guilt at all?"

"You, you big Evil Dragon." The bronze dragon opened her mouth and bit at Leon.

A mature Red Dragon like Angmog couldn’t bite through Leon’s scales; he only had other ways to attack Leon, and naturally, the bronze dragon had no way against Leon’s scales.

"It doesn’t hurt a bit." Leon said, "Continue."

The bronze dragon bit Leon several times in one breath, unable to penetrate his scales, be it the neck, the arms, or even the wings.

"All the words you just said, now I give them back to you..." Leon, having a much larger body, effortlessly flipped the only large-sized bronze dragon, pinning her struggling on the beach sand, "You are a bronze dragon, I am a Red Dragon, you have no chance of winning. Surrender now, and you still have a chance to live."

The bronze dragon, pinned by the Red Dragon, unable to move, felt immense pressure, but she would never surrender, saying, "Give up, I will never surrender to evil."

"Really?"

"Gulp, just kill me then."
