Chapter 134: 134

Leon only intended to get close to the castle on the mountain peak to take a look, not to do anything bad, especially not burglary. So, he chose to avoid sensitive matters that might alarm the castle owner, opting to approach the castle in human form by foot.

If the owner of the castle was polite, it would merely be a regular visit. If the owner was aloof, practicing a ’strangers not welcome’ policy, he wouldn’t push any further. If the owner had malicious intent, then he would have a reason to make a big fuss.

Transforming into his Dragon Form would involve just a casual flap of his wings, while his human form required quite a bit more effort. But since he wasn’t in any rush, Leon was perfectly unhurried.

"Look, there’s actually a road leading to that castle," said Leon, standing at the foot of the mountain and looking up the path leading to the peak. "Judging by this road, and the visible repairs, I’m certain that the castle belongs to a Cloud Giant. Otherwise, a Silver Dragon could easily fly; there’s no need to build a road."

As Leon thought, a standard Cloud Giant only had a Challenge Level of 9, similar to that of a Fire Giant.

Of course, as Spellcasters, Cloud Giants are unlike Fire Giants who prefer using fire attacks. Since he had Flame Immunity, a Cloud Giant undoubtedly posed a much greater threat to him, and couldn’t be treated like a Fire Giant.

Even so, it wasn’t something he needed to be overly concerned about.

"Human civilians can’t beat anyone, yet human elites can slay dragons. Ordinary Cloud Giants aren’t strong, but among them, elites, even a Demon Lord, can handle them with ease," Cecilia noted, seeing Leon’s relaxed smile, and couldn’t help but remind him.

Leon was unaware, but Cecilia knew everything—like the fact that the castle at the mountain top wasn’t encountered by chance but she had led them there, all thanks to information provided by Lady Tiamat.

According to Lady Tiamat, Red Dragon would meet a formidable enemy in that castle, and eventually turn the situation around with Lady Tiamat’s help, indirectly showing that the enemies within the castle were strong enough to threaten Red Dragon.

Cecilia stared at Leon’s profile.

Having interacted with him for so long, she could tell Leon was quite special; he wasn’t an arrogant Red Dragon who despised everyone and considered himself a king while other dragons were beneath him... She was an Evil Dragon, but that didn’t mean she was void of emotions. Dragon hearts are soft too; she did not want him to get hurt here.

"Indeed, it’s better to be safe than sorry," Leon wasn’t so proud or arrogant to think he was the strongest under the heavens.

"Anyway, I can use Gathering Form and Scattering Energy, so leaving wouldn’t be an issue..." Leon glanced at Cecilia, "But if you notice something’s wrong, your small frame can’t handle it; just leave, don’t worry about me."

"You want me to escape first while you cover the retreat in case of danger?" asked Cecilia. "Isn’t it the other way around?"

"Is there a problem?" Leon countered.

"Normally, in danger, isn’t it supposed to be the servant covering the retreat while the master safely evacuates?" Cecilia said matter-of-factly.

Leon thought for a moment and laughed, "I only have one servant; I can’t just abandon you like that."

"Is this what they call tsundere?" Cecilia remarked, "Just admit it, Master, you really do care about me."

"Don’t overthink it, I’m not a gentleman," Leon chuckled. "It’s just that compared to me, you’re really too weak. I feel like if the enemy is troublesome, your trying to cover the retreat won’t help, you wouldn’t hold them off for even a few seconds, better to leave early so I don’t get distracted."

"Master, are you underestimating me too much?" Cecilia pouted.

"Reality hurts," Leon shrugged, "Truth often stings."

"Fine," Cecilia went silent, then suddenly clasped her hands together, murmuring something.

"What are you doing?" asked Leon.

Opening her eyes, Cecilia responded, "Praying to Her Majesty for a stroke of luck."

"You think that will help?" Leon asked.

"Our prayers as Green Dragons probably won’t do much... We are Green Dragons, not Red; if Red Dragons look up to Her Majesty, she would definitely cast a glance their way," Cecilia said, "If we meet danger, you could try praying to Her Majesty."

"That day won’t come," Leon said confidently. He wasn’t one of those reckless Red Dragons, facing impossible enemies; he would flee faster than anyone, preferring to live shamefully than die honorably, "And in real danger, it’s better to rely on oneself."

"Let’s go," Leon stepped onto the mountain path, "If you’re scared, stay back."

She hadn’t thought it through until a crucial moment.

Cecilia gazed at Cecilia.

Many key decisions are often made in a moment.

Mentioning the Divine Name directly will get sensed, but as long as you don’t directly mention the Divine Name, you won’t be detected, provided that you are not inside a temple, in front of a shrine, nor bear any God’s emblem or symbol. Even so, Cecilia still dared not speak; she crouched down and extended her slender fingers to write in the snowy mountains.

"Actually, I met her a few days ago..."

"I don’t know why she found me, instead of directly finding you..."

"She promised to give me power, to help me awaken my bloodline, so I could help her..."

Cecilia wrote a sentence and erased a sentence, being truly cautious, revealing everything she had encountered.

After reading what Cecilia wrote, Leon folded his arms and remained silent for a long time.

"Is it true?"

"Absolutely true."

"Why suddenly tell me this?" said Leon, "You could have continued to hide it."

"Because I am the master’s maid." Cecilia said, "I don’t want to be a maid who betrays her master."

"Isn’t it a bit late to say this now?" Leon raised an eyebrow.

"I am very conflicted." Cecilia said.

"For me, even if it’s not intended to harm me, even if it’s something beneficial, helping others plot against me is betrayal," Leon narrowed his eyes.

"Hahaha." Leon eventually laughed, "As long as you tell me everything before I start doubting, as long as you tell me everything before things happen, I don’t mind. Although you didn’t deliver a perfect score, an eighty is still achievable."

Leon was actually in a decent mood, for Cecilia had chosen him over Tiamat even though she was late. Being too demanding is not a trait of a good person, and he might not have done better if he were in her shoes.

Cecilia breathed a sigh of relief and asked, "What is the master planning to do now?"

"I don’t know," Leon answered.

"Act a bit, then..." Cecilia said, "I don’t know if it will work."

"You are so powerful... His Majesty seems to value you a lot," Cecilia continued, "As long as you are willing to believe, she will surely be generous."

Leon remained silent, slowly shaking his head. Having worked for so many years, he was not opposed to working for others, but he hated schemes and rejected forceful deals.

"I don’t need her favor, I don’t want to believe in someone because of their favors," Leon thought of a certain statesman who once cried ’Long live the people,’ and said word by word, "If you want my faith, win it with personal charm, not through conspiracies... Gods may be high above, but still not enough to arrange my life."

Leon laughed unrestrainedly, his mood more buoyant than ever.

When poor, one’s ambitions are limited; anyone could arrange his life, but now he has changed slightly, unwilling to be manipulated by others, even by Gods.

Under such circumstances, Leon heard the long-missed ding-dong sound.

"Go! To! Hell! Lord! — Rejecting a God, my fate is my own."

"Advanced Reward: Vajra Body."

...

...

So, this was a plot against Leon, even though he and Cecilia stayed at the mountain base, the castle owner on the mountain top had long known their identities. and that they would head to the castle, preparing in advance.

Waiting and waiting, but still not seeing Red Dragon and Green Dragon come up the mountain, the Cloud Giant grew impatient and glared at a human Mage dressed in a long robe and hood, saying, "I have waited for a long time, they haven’t come yet, you need to give me an explanation."

"They are just at the mountain base," said the human Mage, "Just wait for them to come up."

"Do I have to keep waiting here for them if they don’t come up?" the Cloud Giant squinted.

The human Mage didn’t know how to respond and could only beat around the bush, saying, "They have already reached the mountain base, I believe they will be up soon."

"What use is your belief?" the Cloud Giant was short-tempered.

The human Mage hesitated, then cautiously suggested, "Perhaps we can take the initiative to attack."

"Hmm, just a young Red Dragon, how strong can he be?" the Cloud Giant nodded. "Want to steal my treasure, it won’t be that easy."
