Tale of the Red Dragon Without Dragon’s Might -
Chapter 125 Expansion
Chapter 125: Chapter 125 Expansion
Leon looked at Cecilia and honestly, he was somewhat impressed. As a Green Dragon, she actually managed to stay in the desert up to now instead of taking advantage of a dark, windy night to leave and return to her loyal Primitive Forest.
The main reason the Green Dragon stayed, Leon actually had a good idea. Mainly because he was focusing on the Inner Core Dual Cultivation Method, he to a large extent handed over the management of his territory to Cecilia. Moreover, the desert wasn’t all just sand; there were oases, which were somewhat habitable.
"What do you want to do?" Leon asked.
Cecilia noticed that Red Dragon seemed quite interested in her proposal, not showing the impatience she used to display whenever she mentioned it before. Clearly, her formidable power had brought broader ambitions. She glanced around and said, "It’s not convenient to talk here. Let’s find a place to sit down and talk slowly."
"Shall we go to the Molten Lava Lake, or to your lair?" Leon asked, asking just for the sake of it, not implying his support for Cecilia, he had just achieved Dan Formation, full of youthful vigor, and didn’t mind listening to the Green Dragon.
It must be said, Leon was never a very ambitious person, especially when he was working himself to the bone in the big city to stay put, which directly led to his transition into this world. Even being a Red Dragon in this world might not compare to being an ordinary person on Earth; he was genuinely afraid of repeating the same mistake.
Cecilia thought for a moment and said, "Let’s go to my place."
Cecilia flapped her wings and took off, leading the way ahead, everyone followed closely behind, heading to her lair located at the Oasis.
Green Dragons like forests and also have the ability to create a forest by themselves. Originally just a medium-sized oasis, now, to be honest, it doesn’t seem much bigger because the water source limited the size of the oasis; without sufficient water, no matter how much you plant trees, they won’t survive.
Green Dragons often choose caves on cliffs or hillsides to nest, then conceal the entrance to avoid detection, even seeking hidden entrances behind waterfalls, or half-submerged caves that require crossing under lakes or streams, or settling in a huge tree, but it’s hard to find such a large tree.
Unfortunately, the desert oasis has no cliffs, no hills, and no large trees; Cecilia could only choose, like Blue Dragon, to dig holes to build her nest, and because she was not skilled in digging, she only had a small, shallow lair, no wonder she was always trying to persuade Leon to do something.
Cecilia’s lair was indeed quite small; hence several dragons had to transform into human form, else they would easily cause a traffic jam; Efreeti also had the ability to shrink.
Leon was not visiting the Green Dragon’s lair for the first time; he had already been invited over for a small visit when the Green Dragon had just established her lair two years ago.
Although it had been over two years since Cecilia came to the desert, two years is quite short for dragons. Tassera was entering the Green Dragon’s lair for the first time, looking around the guest hall jokingly said, "You actually dare to bring me into your lair, aren’t you afraid I might seize the opportunity to snatch your lair?"
"Come on, after all, I don’t have anything here," Cecilia said nonchalantly. She really didn’t possess treasures when she first arrived, "I’ve always been undecided; you taking it would be best, then I could just move to Molten Lava Lake."
Tassera shrugged her shoulders; she was initially joking, and now with Cecilia’s response, she had no real or fake reasons to get near Leon for proximity’s sake.
As Tassera stopped talking, Cecilia also lost interest in teasing her and walked to the bookshelf in the corner of the guest hall. She reached up and took a scroll of parchment from the shelf, returning to the long table where everyone was gathered around and unrolled the parchment to reveal a map.
"This is a map I drew." Although all places were marked on the map, Cecilia raised her slender finger to tap on the map, "This is the Red Crown Desert, this is Molten Lava Lake, and here is the Oasis we’re currently in..."
Tassera stood up to look at the map, soon frowning, "At first glance, several places are wrong."
"If some details are wrong, then they’re wrong," Cecilia was nonchalant, "as long as it’s generally correct, it’s fine."
"It is generally correct," Tassera nodded, not quibbling over the details.
"So, what is it?" To better view the map, Leon crossed his arms and sat sideways, "What do you want to do?"
Cecilia sat opposite Leon, resting her chin on her hands, and said, "My brother, my master, to be able to defeat two young dragons at the teenage dragon stage, and even an Efreeti, you are really strong."
Leon enjoyed Cecilia’s compliments and said, "Go on, I like listening."
At his words, Cecilia immediately clasped her hands in front of her chest.
"My brother, his majesty is like the brightest star in the sky... no, like the blazing Sun, unbearable to look at directly. His power is like the raging fury of a volcano, unmatched by anyone."
"His flames can burn everything, even flames themselves would be completely consumed. His claws can tear the hardest rocks as if they were mere mud. Even the bravest warriors feel their insignificance in his presence."
"That’s enough, that’s enough," Leon felt a bit embarrassed and cringed, "Just spit it out if you have something to say."
Cecilia chuckled and said, "I was just thinking, that desert is so vast, yet our territory is so small... When you look at such a large map, our territory isn’t even the size of an apple, are you really content with that?"
"I am content, honestly I really am," Leon glanced at the Efreeti and then shrugged toward him, "If he hadn’t insisted on attacking me back then, aggravating me, I would have simply seized his castle and his territory, and by now I might not even have a single piece of land."
The Efreeti, hearing Leon’s words, remained expressionless and silent.
He originally didn’t believe in Leon, but after a long time interacting, he now knew that this Red Dragon was truly unique. Had he been a little more courteous back then, none of this would have happened, he wouldn’t have become a servant, still serving the Red Dragon for over twenty years.
"It’s not true that we don’t have any territory, we do have a small forest," Leon added after some thought.
Cecilia knew what kind of personality Leon had long ago, and said, "Times have changed."
"I figured out what you’re trying to do, you want to incite Leon to expand his territory, and then profit from this process..." Tassera interjected, "Let me tell you, it’s not that easy."
"You’ve only been here for two years, not even three, you really don’t know anything," Tassera said, "Not that I’m looking down on you... You’ve worked hard and done well, as can be seen from this map, but that’s all."
Tassera pulled the map in front of her, tracing circles on it with her finger, and said, "Our territory is here, above us is Seryn’s territory, he is a mature Blue Dragon, not a newly matured one like Rocas... just a mature Blue Dragon, Leon can definitely beat him, but he has a family backing him."
"This is Thunder’s territory, he is a well-known mature Blue Dragon, it’s better not to provoke him unless necessary," Tassera continued, "This part of the desert has no owner, but it’s just sand, you won’t even find a cactus there."
Tassera clapped her hands and said, "You’re a Green Dragon, you don’t understand Blue Dragons. The oldest Blue Dragon in a region acts as the Overlord for all the weaker Blue Dragons living nearby. Minor skirmishes he ignores, but he will definitely intervene if it escalates."
Cecilia didn’t think Tassera was lying, and frowned slightly, saying, "Unless we can defeat the Overlord, we have no other option?"
"There are ways, plenty of ways," Tassera said, "As long as there’s a valid reason. If there isn’t one, create one."
"You Blue Dragons really are troublesome..." Cecilia said, "So, I should instigate the neighboring Blue Dragons to attack us? Then we would have a reason to counterattack and seize that Blue Dragon’s territory?"
"That’s one method," Tassera said.
Cecilia suddenly turned to Leon, who had been silent, and asked, "Master, what do you think?"
"What do I think?" Leon said, "I honestly have no interest in expanding territory, but if we really need to do something... I can only say the desert is just barren land, I really don’t care for it, we should look further ahead."
