Tale of the Red Dragon Without Dragon’s Might
Chapter 116: Foundation Establishment

Chapter 116: Chapter 116: Foundation Establishment

Despite Leon repeatedly inviting everyone to sit down, and even casually using the Object Capture Skill to move a stool next to the fire, no one seemed to take a seat.

An adventurer who liked to boast could at most talk about a hero fighting the Evil Dragon, or a naive young man picking up a Magic Oil Lamp, as these stories are often recounted by bards. Yet the man sitting across the fire could list so many monsters, discussing their strengths and weaknesses at length, which proved he was definitely not a weak opponent.

At a Hag gathering, exchanging information was common; even combined, a few Hags didn’t possess as much knowledge as him, covering Demons, Devils, Celestial Creatures, and abnormalities... and even the Ancient Dominator came up.

Perhaps that gentleman really did defeat the Blue Dragon, though it was just a newly matured Blue Dragon, with an Efreeti as a servant, and had killed a Vampire...

So how could everyone dare to mock him?

Thinking about it, the Green Hag shivered, wishing she could slap herself.

She gave Cecilia a resentful look, holding back her anger, too scared to even sit on the stool next to the fire.

Cecilia felt wronged; for almost a week, she had been calling him "brother" without hearing such stories from him, otherwise, she would’ve noticed it earlier; now, she realized that he must have recognized her identity the first moment.

After waiting about a minute and still seeing no one sit down, Leon couldn’t help but lose his temper and loudly said, "Sit down! Didn’t you hear me talking? Do you really need a special invitation?"

"Sit, sit," the Green Hag finally sat down, half-seated on the stool, "Granny Poli has sat down."

"That’s better," Leon said, chatting warmly with the Green Hag. "I know an aunt called Peggy, do you know her?"

"Aunt Peggy?" the Green Hag shook her head, "I don’t know her."

"I do," the Evil Ghost said cautiously.

"Who is Aunt Peggy?" The Green Hag guessed it must be a Hag’s name, but it’s a big world, and one Hag can’t know so many others. Moreover, Hags being naturally selfish, only gather other Hags when there is a need.

"An Annis Hag," the Evil Ghost spoke softly, "I had dealings with her once, but I remember she died about ten years ago."

"Twelve or thirteen years ago," Leon added, "She dared to plot against me... But back then, I indeed was quite weak, without showing my trump cards I really had no way to beat her."

Hearing this, the Green Hag dared not look directly into Leon’s face anymore, only stealing glances upwards, unable to imagine how he, appearing so young now, could’ve beaten a powerful Annis Hag twelve or thirteen years ago; was he already an immortal or one of the Longevity Species?

Regardless of what the Green Hag was thinking, Leon turned to the Evil Ghost and said, "Honestly, I really don’t get it; Ogres don’t have the regeneration ability, only Trolls do. With this in mind, why are regenerate-abled Evil Ghosts called Magic Orge instead of Magic Troll?"

"I, I don’t know either," admitting Leon could see everyone’s true nature, the Evil Ghost hung his head, hands clasped between his legs like a child who had erred, "probably because we look more like Ogres."

"That makes sense," Leon nodded agreeably, "I’ve killed a Cave Troll before, it was much uglier than you. At least you still look a bit human, but it looked completely monstrous."

The Evil Ghost fell silent, musing that although it dared not wrestle with a Cave Troll, surely the Cave Troll couldn’t defeat it either; they were likely evenly matched opponents, none overpowering the other.

Leon finally turned to Cecilia, smiling, "Isn’t it just a day since we last met? Sis, why have you grown so distant? Not calling me ’brother’ anymore?"

Cecilia bit her lip softly, now certain she had been manipulated from start to finish; biting her lip and then releasing it, she cried: "Brother."

"Hahahaha!" Leon laughed heartily, slapping his thigh, "I just love hearing you call me ’brother’."

"Brother, brother... as long as brother likes it, sister likes calling you brother too." The pride of a True Dragon depends on whom they face; as a Green Dragon, Cecilia knew well to act according to the situation.

"That’s enough," Leon suddenly changed his tone, stopping Cecilia from continuing, "Turn into a Green Dragon and let me see... but a bit farther, transform in the clearing, and don’t trample my crops."

Cecilia, facing a detestable expression, really wanted to slap him as a Green Dragon, but then reconsidered; as a True Dragon, she just needed a bit of time to grow stronger... Now you can strut, but there will be a time for tears. Obediently, she walked to the clearing and swiftly transformed into a Green Dragon.

At this point, Leon finally understood why Cecilia’s chest was so flat; because the Green Dragon before him was too skinny, big enough, but too thin. Apart from that, her scales were quite beautiful, and her eyes were very bright, showing no signs of disability.

"Why are you so thin... can True Dragons also suffer from malnutrition?" Leon couldn’t help but quip, "Don’t you eat normally? Are you a vegetarian instead of eating meat? That won’t do, eating only vegetables lacks nutrients, you definitely need meat to supplement protein."

"Your Dragon Form is so skinny—" Leon pointed at the chest, jokingly said, "No wonder you have no bust when you turn human."

Cecilia turned back into her human form and whispered, "Breasts only exist to please men. I’m a True Dragon, I don’t need to please men, I don’t need such burdens."

Leon didn’t argue with the Green Dragon; he just laughed.

"Alright, that’s enough chit-chat for now. It’s time to sleep," Leon suddenly said with a yawn.

Leon glanced over the faces of the few people and said seriously, "I don’t know what you all want to do, but I need to meditate now. I need a quiet forest. I don’t want any incidents occurring here that disturb my meditation... Anyone who disturbs my meditation is going against me, and I wouldn’t mind having a chat with them."

A Green Hag, an Evil Ghost, and a skinny young Green Dragon, who looked thin and weak, which probably made her seem equal in status to the first two... Leon was confident he could win this fight, but he wasn’t sure he could keep everyone from causing further issues.

"Of course not, of course not," the Green Hag hastily agreed, "Whatever the master says, Grandma Polly will abide."

The Evil Ghost, touching his neck, said, "I don’t care."

Cecilia’s eyes spun around as she spoke, "Little sister wants to stay by brother’s side."

Those fools who intended to subdue the Green Dragon would eventually realize, while they thought they were enjoying her services, she was merely assessing their worth.

"Get lost!" This time, Leon wasn’t so nice, "All of you, just get lost!"

Leon drove the three away and then went to sleep. He didn’t know if their promise to stop causing trouble was sincere, but anyway, his meditation was entering its final stage and would soon be completed.

After that night, the Primitive Forest seemed to really quiet down. From Des, he learned that no strange incidents had occurred in the Elf Village, but everyone still didn’t dare to let their guard down, and Leon’s life returned to normalcy.

Pixie, as usual, came to find Leon every other day to bother him for stories.

Little Red Riding Hood Fighting the Big Grey Wolf, Snow White and the Seven Calabashes, Black Mermaid Abducting the Prince, The Young Man Who Finds a Magical Ring After Being Jilted... Leon had lost count of all the nonsensical stories he’d told.

Leon finally got familiar with a Sprite.

Unlike Pixie, the Sprite with dragonfly wings flitted through the secret groves and shade, seldom indulging in dull mirth and revelry. They are steadfast warriors, protectors, and judges—truly reliable allies.

Leon first encountered the Fairy Dragon, a lively and friendly miniature Dragon, cat-sized with butterfly wings, loving to show its sharp teeth in a smile and wagging its tail to express inner joy, just like True Dragon, they cherished treasures, but a candy was enough to win their favor.

Leon heard from Pixie about the Dryad, a graceful female, but he had to meditate; his practice was at a critical moment, so he missed the chance to meet her.

Days passed by.

It was a sunny morning when Leon finally completed his Foundation Establishment.

Leon didn’t know how to explain it, it was a feeling beyond words. Every cell in his body was leaping for joy, and the scenery before his eyes was clearer than ever, colors were more complex, and details richer...

At the same time, his thought process also felt more active. Any book he recalled, appeared vivid in his memory.

Clasping his fists, Leon could clearly sense the strength inside his body... Foundation Establishment did not make him stronger, but it brought his body to its optimal state.

Not only that, even without trying, Leon knew his immune system had improved, meaning higher exemptions, especially with respect to diseases.

What else?

Leon stood by a stream, scratching his head, thinking about the last few days of his practice when he hadn’t bathed. Taking a proper bath then, scrubbing the dirt and mud off his face and body... Surely, his attractiveness had improved again.

What else?

Nothing for now, treasures should be unearthed slowly, might as well dig them up slowly later.

Now, the long and arduous cultivation is over, my body is robust and pure!

Leon couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

The Foundation Establishment was complete, everything was over.

Leon didn’t rush to leave but waited for two more days, waiting for Pixie, bid farewell to him, and gave an ending to the story he told him; he couldn’t leave it unfinished after all. Then he found Des, kindly warned the Elf Ranger, hinting that a dark force was eyeing the Elf Village, encouraged the Elf Ranger to venture out, perhaps to the desert to find him.

Leon packed his belongings, ready to leave, and just as he stepped out the door, he saw Cecilia, the Green Hag, and the Evil Ghost from afar.

Leon could tell, they were not here for a simple farewell.
