Chapter 162: Chapter 160: Where is Your Conscience?
The night was deep and silent.
Yet the lights at He Fang’s place were still brightly lit.
After casually eating a bowl of egg-fried rice with diced carrots and eggs, she went downstairs to the supermarket to buy a small jar of honey. She brought it upstairs, brewed it with the cooled warm water, and carried it into the bedroom, planning to pour it down Qin Guanglin’s throat.
People who had drunk too much not only woke up in the middle of the night with a dry mouth and tongue, feeling terrible, but they would also often wake up the next morning with a headache and acid stomach, unable to eat. It was truly miserable, yet these symptoms could be greatly relieved by just one glass of honey water.
Looking at Qin Guanglin sprawled out on the bed, He Fang thought for a moment, then went out to pour another glass of warm water. She brought it back to the bedroom, helped him sit up, and said, "Come on, rinse your mouth."
Qin Guanglin groggily swallowed a big gulp, the excess dribbling out from the corners of his mouth. He Fang quickly grabbed a tissue from beside her to wipe it off, "Rinse, gargle, and spit it out."
"..."
"Hey, why did you swallow it..."
After much trouble, instead of rinsing properly, she ended up pouring half a glass of warm water down his throat, making a mess all over his neck. He Fang sighed helplessly and went to get a towel to place under Qin Guanglin’s neck, holding up the honey water for him to drink.
Already full, Qin Guanglin subconsciously dodged, refusing to even edge closer to the rim of the glass to take a sip.
"It stinks," He Fang said with disdain, hesitating before deciding to drink it herself.
Then she tried to feed him again.
And yet, the bastard, being drunk, was not behaving. The smell of alcohol made He Fang frown. After barely managing to get him to drink half a cup, she gave up on trying to make him drink more and gulped it down herself in one go.
Fortunately, she had only gone out to buy honey that day, and her hair was still fine and didn’t need washing. He Fang went out to the balcony to hang up the washed clothes, took a bath, turned off the living room light, and prepared to go to sleep.
Feeling He Fang lie down beside him, Qin Guanglin subconsciously turned over, pulling her into his arms, rubbing his head against her neck a couple of times before continuing to sleep.
"Let go a bit..." He Fang murmured discontentedly, turning away to face the other side and pushing back, to keep him from overwhelming her.
She reached over for a Doraemon plush toy beside her, squeezed it, kissed it, then set it down, and turned her head to kiss Qin Guanglin’s forehead too, "Good night."
"Wife, good night..."
"Eh?" He Fang turned around curiously, looking at him, "Say that again."
"Wife, good night."
"Good night." She happily snuggled deeper into Qin Guanglin’s arms, placing her hand on his back and gently patted, "Go to sleep quickly."
Actually, being drunk wasn’t that annoying.
The bedroom quieted down, moonlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains, scattering in fine patterns over their faces. He Fang’s lips curled into a smile, her breathing gradually becoming calm and prolonged.
When two people sleep together, the sleeping position is very important. Some people... well, the truth is, most people feel their arms go numb and sore when hugged during sleep, and the other person also feels uncomfortable, so they usually only embrace before preparing to sleep, then sleep separately.
That’s the wrong sleeping position.
Each person’s shape and size are different; sleeping positions also need different adjustments. As long as you find the right position, not only can you sleep comfortably, but your hands can also comfortably rest...
Qin Guanglin was woken up by the urge to pee.
Half-asleep, he opened his eyes and saw a big octopus tightly wrapped around him, startling him. He took a second to realize that this octopus was named He.
What’s going on?
Where is this?
What time is it?
He blankly stared at the ceiling, not knowing what had happened.
Attending a wedding... drinking... going out...
His last memory was of talking with Xiao Yu and the others at the door.
Then...
He turned his head to see He Fang sleeping soundly next to him; a smile still on her small face.
Had he stayed here after drinking too much?
He instantly felt delighted, pecked He Fang lightly, preparing to get up, and then paused.
Where were his clothes?
Qin Guanglin was dazed for a while before he carefully moved He Fang aside, sneaked out of bed, and wobbled like a pendulum on his way to the living room to find his clothes.
Why sleep if you’re going to end up like this?
He saw the clothes hanging on the balcony and complained even more.
Drinking really screws things up... Rubbing his throbbing head, Qin Guanglin sighed, slipped into the bathroom to freshen up, then wobbled back into the bedroom. He looked around, opened the wardrobe, and started searching.
The balcony was open-air, so he had to put on some clothes to go out, but his clothes were on the balcony. What a dilemma.
How could he get the clothes from the balcony inside?
He couldn’t let anyone see him like this now, nor could he let Teacher He see him—although she had already seen him, but that was when he was drunk. Now that he was sober, it was very embarrassing.
After struggling for a while, Qin Guanglin, in desperation, put on He Fang’s nightgown, quietly pulled open the door, and ran out to quickly gather his clothes from the balcony.
Holding his clothes, he entered the bedroom and hadn’t even caught his breath when he saw He Fang blinking at him.
"..."
"Puhahahahaha..." He Fang laughed so hard she rolled around on the bed, fumbling for her phone, "Don’t move, I need to take a picture of this!"
Annoyed and embarrassed, Qin Guanglin yanked the door closed and ran to the bathroom to change.
"Don’t run, you look so good."
He Fang, wearing slippers, shuffled out after him, knocking on the bathroom door, "Come on, let me see again."
"..."
"Open up, I won’t take a picture."
"..."
Creak.
After changing, Qin Guanglin opened the door and threw the nightgown into her arms, "What did you do to me last night?"
"You changed so fast." He Fang looked at him somewhat regretfully, "What could I have done to you?"
"..."
Qin Guanglin was stumped, and after pondering, he realized he really couldn’t have done anything as he had been so drunk.
"Besides, you brought a girl over to my place yesterday." He Fang, holding the nightgown, headed back to the bedroom, "Come on, explain that."
"How’s that possible?"
"How is it not possible? Weren’t you at a classmate’s wedding?" She sat cross-legged on the bed, and as Qin Guanglin followed her in, she pointed to a chair near the desk, "Sit there."
"I did go to the wedding, and afterward, I took a taxi back and then..." Qin Guanglin obediently sat down, pausing with some confusion, "How did I end up here?"
"Hmmph, you were with a super-pretty girl when you knocked on my door..."
"No way!"
Qin Guanglin widened his eyes in disbelief, "My table was all old men, where would there be... wait, now I remember, I wanted to come back to go jogging with you, and then you... took advantage of me?"
"Tch, as if I took advantage of you." He Fang made a face of disgust, her eyes shifting to the nearby nightgown and she began laughing again, "If you wear this again, though, I might be a bit interested..."
"You’re still saying that!" Qin Guanglin stood up angrily, "I’m going to work."
Dark history, really dark history.
If only he had hidden under the covers and woken her up earlier, had her go fetch it—since she had already seen everything, even if he didn’t hide under the covers, it’d still be better than her seeing him wear that thing.
Drinking is bad for the brain.
"Wait till tonight, and I’ll keep grilling you." He Fang lay back down on the bed, thinking about Qin Guanglin’s earlier appearance and started laughing again.
Qin Guanglin stopped in his tracks as he was leaving, turned back to see her laughing joyfully, and stepped back to the bedside.
"Why did you come back?"
"I figured leaving ten minutes later won’t hurt." He sprawled across the bed and reached out, "Laughing so joyfully, I need to check if your conscience is broken."
