Chapter 123: Suddenly Became an Outsider
Chapter 123: Chapter 123: Suddenly Became an Outsider
With Teacher He’s sideline coaching, the quality of the dishes noticeably improved. Set on the table steaming hot, although still not surpassing the food prepared by the two women, they were at least appetizing to look at.
Qin Guanglin briskly fetched the leftover orange juice from the fridge and poured a cup for each person. "To celebrate Chef Qin’s improved culinary skills."
The two, absorbed in their own worlds, picked up their drinks without a toast. He didn’t mind, and with glee, guzzled it down, watching Qin’s Mom pick up the food. Leaning in, he asked, "Tasty, right?"
"Not bad, much better than before." Qin’s Mom nodded without even glancing at Qin Guanglin. Turning her head, she praised He Fang, "You taught him well. You’re truly skilled."
"Oh, I just made a few comments on the side." He Fang modestly intervened, "He himself is a quick learner."
"With a few more lessons, he could probably graduate. Just stir-frying greens isn’t enough; teach him some tougher dishes, and then he can do it all by himself," Qin’s Mom commented while eating.
He Fang suppressed a smile. "Yes, I’ll make sure he learns."
Sitting on the side, Qin Guanglin spooned through his rice with puffed cheeks, glancing left and right at the two women.
What’s going on with these two?
They were talking as if he’d be the one cooking from now on... Was it because he entered the room in the wrong way? Why did it feel like his mom had suddenly become his mother-in-law?
Originally, he wanted to learn a few cooking tricks considering Teacher He’s monthly visits, as it would be inconvenient for her to cook. He planned to take over everything from cooking to dishwashing during those days—though making meals for Teacher He every day would be nice, but he also wanted to savor her cooking.
"Did you hear that?" Mid-conversation with He Fang, Qin’s Mom noticed Qin Guanglin lost in thought while eating and couldn’t help but ask him.
"Huh?" Qin Guanglin, caught off guard, didn’t know what they had been discussing, "What?"
"Nothing, continue eating." He Fang served him another bite and smiled at Qin’s Mom, "We’ll just dump the responsibility on him later."
"Hehe."
Qin’s Mom couldn’t help but chuckle at Qin Guanglin, "Exactly. Just leave it to him, and if he dares complain, you let me know. I won’t let him off easy."
Qin Guanglin felt a chill down his spine. "What are you two talking about?"
It seemed like they’d plotted something bizarre, and it didn’t feel like it was anything good.
"Nothing, just eat."
"Yeah, eat."
"..."
Feeling worried through the meal, Qin Guanglin took the dishes to the kitchen to wash, squirting dish soap and beginning to scrub.
"What were you two talking about just now?" As he saw He Fang follow him into the kitchen and stand there watching, he couldn’t resist asking.
"We didn’t say much."
He Fang had an air of innocence about her as she leaned in and sneaked a hand around, blocking her actions from view, covertly reaching to touch his belly. "Let me see if you’re full. You’re coming running with me in a bit."
Hmm, not as round as at noon, just slightly swollen.
Qin Guanglin dodged twice but couldn’t escape, and eventually stopped caring—after all, her soft hands felt quite comfortable. "You definitely talked about something."
"We were just discussing getting you to do some work." He Fang pressed closer, lifting her head and breathing lightly into his ear, "Do you like working hard?"
"Uh..." Qin Guanglin stiffened. "My mom is still out there watching."
"Just tell me if you like it or not." He Fang whispered close to his ear, "Do you like it?"
"I like it, I like it." Qin Guanglin got the tickles and involuntarily ducked back, "Move, you’re holding up my work."
"Hehehe."
He Fang stepped back with a mischievous smile, leaning against the door frame, and with a normal voice, pretended to urge him, "Hurry up, even washing dishes you dawdle."
"Why rush? I have to clean them properly." Qin Guanglin glanced at her annoyed. She wouldn’t let him touch her, yet she always liked to playfully provoke.
Seeing Qin’s Mom pass by the kitchen door to head back to the bedroom, the door creaking shut, he motioned to He Fang, "Come here."
"I won’t." He Fang refused, arms crossed as she stood there.
"I’ll let you touch my belly."
"I don’t want to anymore."
"Fine then." Qin Guanglin said no more, sped up his washing, rinsed off the foam from his hands, wiped them on his body a couple of times, and then flashed He Fang a big grin.
He Fang sensed something amiss and immediately turned to leave, but before she could move, he stepped over to pull her into his arms.
"You run." Qin Guanglin chuckled with a hum.
"Don’t mess around." Knowing she couldn’t break free, He Fang simply gave up struggling. "Your mom will come out soon."
"She won’t."
"Let go of me, or I’ll scream."
"What are you going to scream?" Qin Guanglin teased her lip with his finger. "Help?"
"..."
He Fang suddenly tried to bite his finger but missed, annoyed, she glared at him. "What are you trying to do?"
"Hehehe, turn your head to the side."
Qin Guanglin instructed her to turn her head, planning to give her a taste of her own medicine.
She always loved to blow puffs of air at him for no reason; it was time to blow back and let her experience it too.
"Then go ahead and blow." He Fang realized what he wanted to do and promptly exposed her ear.
It was just a little ticklish, not like him, so sensitive.
Mimicking her, Qin Guanglin blew lightly into her ear twice and saw He Fang squirm because of the tickle, filling his heart with a sense of achievement. "Will you blow again next time?"
"No more, no more." He Fang giggled, wriggling. "Okay, enough, let me go now."
"Hmph." Qin Guanglin was about to let her go when he suddenly noticed her small, tender earlobe, looking somewhat cute...
"Ah!"
He Fang suddenly shouted, startling Qin Guanglin into releasing her quickly, guiltily avoiding the glare she shot at him. "See if you dare to do it again."
"You’re not even disgusted, kissing all over." He Fang pinched her ear, suddenly turning her head towards Qin’s Mom’s room door. "I hope she didn’t hear us?"
"She probably didn’t, it wasn’t that loud..." Qin Guanglin was also somewhat uncertain.
"It’s all your fault!"
"Who started it first..." he grumbled, turning off the kitchen lights, then after stepping out he glanced again at her ear. "Why don’t you get your ears pierced?"
Keeping an eye on the movement of Qin’s Mom’s room door, He Fang countered, "Why would I need to get my ears pierced?"
"Wouldn’t it look good? All those studs and earrings, I see many people wearing them."
To be precise, it wasn’t many people; it was almost everyone. Even Qin’s Mom had worn shiny gold earrings that almost blinded him.
"Do you like them?"
"Well...not really, I think clean is good enough."
"I don’t like them either." He Fang scrunched her nose. "Plus, it hurts a lot."
"You’re just afraid of the pain, aren’t you?" Qin Guanglin suddenly felt like that was the main reason.
"It’s not that at all. ’The body and its parts are gifts from one’s parents,’ and to mutilate it for the sake of beauty..."
"It’s just the pain." He nodded in affirmation.
"..."
"But they do look pretty." Qin Guanglin laughed, reaching out again wanting to touch her cute little earlobe. "Piercing it would make it less pretty."
The more he looked, the more adorable it seemed. He had never imagined ears could look so exquisite; they even seemed to move when he kissed them just now.
"Get off, don’t touch." He Fang slapped away his hand. "You’re just lecherous."
"How can I be lecherous when I’m kissing my girlfriend?" Qin Guanglin didn’t think he was lecherous... well, maybe a little.
But being lecherous only towards you surely doesn’t count.
"You said we should be fair, didn’t you?" He Fang eyed him with dubious intentions. "Come here, let me take a bite of your ear."
"No way, you can’t be lecherous."
Qin Guanglin shook his head and quickly stepped towards the door, genuinely afraid He Fang would leap at him and bite his ear. "Hurry up and go for a walk, help digestion before running."
He Fang hummed along, following his steps. "You can run but you can’t hide forever. I’ll remember this."
