Chapter 922: Chapter 922: Must Apologize

It also propelled An Hao’s own progress!

It was after nine in the evening by the time An Hao finished talking with Yan Ye; during this period, she no longer had to drink herbal medicine, so she didn’t have to shuttle back and forth between school and home every day.

She simply stayed in the dormitory.

All the other people in the dormitory had already left, and An Hao went back alone, holding her books.

She had just reached the shady road leading to the faculty when she suddenly heard someone calling her from behind.

An Hao turned around and saw it was Cheng Yue.

"Why is it you? Do you need something from me?" Remembering what Cheng Yu had done to her, An Hao felt somewhat unhappy.

Thus, her attitude towards Cheng Yue became a lot colder.

"There is something," Cheng Yue scratched his head, seemingly embarrassed to speak.

For the past month or so, every time he thought of saying a couple of words to An Hao, he swallowed them back.

Over this month or so, every time he saw An Hao, he had to face the self-reproach and interrogation of his conscience. He had to say something to An Hao.

"Then speak," An Hao said calmly, looking at him.

"I know, apologizing to you now is useless. I’ve heard about my sister’s actions. I had no idea she would cause you such great trouble." This situation was far worse than his earlier malicious behavior towards An Hao.

"She indeed affected my life, and I never expected that Teacher Cheng would be such a person. If possible, I don’t want to see him ever again in my life," An Hao said bluntly.

"She is still recuperating at home now. Over a month ago, my father slapped her because of this matter."

"So what? Just because of that slap, should I forgive your sister?" The incident had deeply hurt An Hao; she couldn’t easily let go.

"That’s not what I mean," Cheng Yue explained. "I’m just trying to apologize to you for his excessive behavior!"

An Hao laughed, her smile somewhat cold: "You don’t have to apologize to me; I just hope she doesn’t scheme against me anymore!"

"She won’t. I promise you!"

"That would be best," An Hao said, turning around to leave.

"Wait a minute." Cheng Yue quickly called out to her, "Do you have time tomorrow? I’d like to treat you to a meal."

"No need, thank you," An Hao flatly refused.

Seeing that An Hao had misunderstood him, Cheng Yue hurriedly explained: "I have no other intentions in inviting you to dinner. This trip to the Northwest, I’m grateful for the care you showed my sister. At the same time, I’d also like to use this meal to make amends to you."

"No need," An Hao said indifferently, looking at him. "I know it might be unfair to you, but I’m sorry, I can’t face anyone from the Cheng Family right now."

Seeing that An Hao refused to accept his apology, after feeling helpless, Cheng Yue took the envelope he had prepared beforehand out of his pocket.

When he came to the school earlier, Qi Siyuan had prepared an envelope for him.

Inside was a sum of money and a handwritten letter of apology.

She asked Cheng Yue to invite An Hao for a meal and personally hand the letter to An Hao, hoping she could forgive Cheng Yu’s actions.

Cheng Yu had sustained a head injury and had been under great psychological pressure during her treatment abroad, leading to some paranoia in her personality.

That’s why she committed such irrational acts as having An Hao kidnapped and drugging Qin Jian’s coffee cup, such disgraceful behavior.

Since An Hao was the daughter-in-law of Chief Ning, Qi Siyuan also placed great importance on this matter.

"If you refuse to accept my dinner invitation, then please take this envelope."

"What’s in it?"
