Chapter 731: How Are You Feeling?
Chapter 731: Chapter 731: How Are You Feeling?
An Hao and Qin Jian went back home, and Zhang Yun returned to the Yan Family house.
Ning Yibin asked, "How did it go?"
Zhang Yun said with a beaming smile, "I guess so."
"Oh my! I’m green with envy. You’ll be able to hold your chubby grandson next year," Feng Yuzhi said, both envious and delighted.
Now, this completely dashed her own two children’s hopes.
"Don’t be envious." Zhang Yun’s smile was so wide she couldn’t close her mouth, "When the time comes, I’ll find a good match for Yan Huan too. If I come across someone suitable, I’ll pick someone for Yan Ye as well. Let’s get them married off in the same year, and you can be both a grandmother and a mother-in-law. Let’s see if you can handle that!"
"If that really happens, Old Feng would be over the moon!" Yan Luquan said, laughing heartily.
"Tsk tsk tsk!" Feng Yuzhi glared at him and retorted, "Are you wishing for my death? Let me tell you, no matter how happy I am, I can’t die from happiness."
The four elders chatted happily, while the expressions of the Yan siblings were nothing but despondent.
What else could they do?
Indeed, it was time to let go.
The Ning Family lived right next to the Yan Family, with only a path lined with plane trees separating the two houses.
Qin Jian was holding An Hao’s hand as they walked back. Seeing her move at a snail’s pace, he knew she must still be pondering the matter they’d just discussed.
"What’s on your mind now? Are you worried, or are you happy?" he asked, looking down at her.
Could she say she was worried?
The words were on the tip of her tongue, but An Hao swallowed them back down, looking up at Qin Jian, "What about you? Are you worried or happy?"
Qin Jian smiled gently, bent down to scoop her up in his arms, and began to stride quickly back home, "This is how I feel!"
"Hey! Put me down!" An Hao’s thoughts were completely jumbled by his antics; she clenched her fist lightly and punched his broad, solid chest, "Stop it."
"I’m not messing around! I don’t want to tire out my wife, can’t I carry you for a bit?" Qin Jian’s face was a blossom of smiles.
His smile was as if he had married a wife all over again.
Qin Jian carried An Hao all the way home and gently placed her on the sofa, then he dived into the kitchen to make something for An Hao to eat.
A man who had never cooked before was unlikely to have much culinary skill.
"I’ll do it." An Hao rolled up her sleeves and walked into the kitchen, ready to cook herself, "Actually, I don’t even know what I’m feeling right now, nor do I know if I’m full or hungry."
"We can ask Mom when she gets back if it’s common for pregnant women to feel this way?" Qin Jian suggested.
"Don’t jump to conclusions so rashly before we know for sure, or you might end up with a false alarm," she said, though she was also concerned about the possibility of being pregnant. But why did she start to feel a faint pain in her stomach already?
"Alright. In a few days, when the hospital is open, we’ll go for a checkup." Qin Jian already very much wanted a child, and if An Hao could be pregnant now, that would be the best outcome.
After they had finished the porridge, Qin Jian and An Hao went upstairs.
It wasn’t long before the sound of the door lock turning came from downstairs, Zhang Yun and Ning Yibin had returned.
Ever since the wedding night when Zhang Yun accidentally stumbled upon her son and daughter-in-law being intimate, she wasn’t keen on going up to the second floor.
She came up this time purely out of concern for An Hao and wanted to check on her.
She knocked on the door and only entered after hearing a response from inside.
An Hao had been lying in bed, but quickly sat up when she saw her mother-in-law, "Mom, you’re back?"
"Lie back down! I just came to see how you’re doing," Zhang Yun said with a smile on her face.
