Chapter 510: Chapter 309 Agleya Who Commands the Wind and Rain
Adrian knew this might be the only moment he could brag to Spencer. A few hundred years later, while he was still on the ground, Spencer would likely already have entered the Divine Kingdom in the starry sky.
In the hearts of these high-level mages, Spencer had long been considered William’s future divine subordinate.
But this required Spencer to remain steadfast, always following William as he did now.
William hadn’t remained silent because he thought Spencer might change; he was worried Spencer would give up striving to become a legendary knight, lose his resolve, and be assimilated into the Divine Kingdom, becoming a mere puppet deity.
The God of Nobility had also taken his subordinates into the Divine Kingdom, but only less than three had the ability to appear independently now, all of whom were legendary knights back then.
Upon learning that the God of Time and Space could choose a star path for them to leave this world, William’s followers, Miller and Carl, quickly changed their attitudes for this reason.
William would pay the price to preserve Spencer’s independence, striving to get divinity for him, but Young William wouldn’t consider so much for them; their survival depended on their own resolve.
Therefore, they no longer competed with each other. Whether they left this world or entered the Divine Kingdom to train their willpower, they could survive. The competition between better and best didn’t have to be life or death.
When Hill was in Central City, he once came to chat with Adrian and was stunned for a long time seeing Miller’s student, Hensley, and Carl’s student, Phillips, laughing and chatting together.
He returned and confided in Adrian that he almost thought the Silvermoon Blessing on him had suddenly disappeared and he had inadvertently entered an illusion array.
"Adrian, what are you thinking about?" Spencer asked, unable to resist seeing Adrian suddenly lost in thought.
"Hill, I wonder when he’ll come back." Adrian sighed softly, "Since my teacher left, I’ve been a bit lonely. Even when I wasn’t staying in the Magic Tower, I could go back to his side whenever I wanted to.
When my teacher left, he did so decisively, directly transferring the Magic Tower to me. When Diamant called him the former Tower Master, I knew that if I didn’t reach the legendary status, I might never see him again.
Perhaps that’s the only thing I’m missing, Spencer. I’ve never lacked mana, but I’ve lacked motivation."
Looking at the melancholy Adrian, Spencer sneered coldly, "Of course, you don’t lack mana. Haven’t you eaten enough of Hill’s good stuff?
Whether it’s mana or body, I believe you’re in the most perfect condition.
His Majesty the King gave me a portion of the produce from Hill Valley, and after eating it, I felt my power increase significantly.
Moreover, many old injuries from my knight training days healed instantly. I never thought I would one day have the hope of becoming a legendary knight."
Adrian shrugged helplessly, "That’s my luck. Who told me to have a good relationship with Hill all along!"
"Though Hill is gentle in nature, he is a person who clearly distinguishes between gratitude and resentment!" Spencer said with a smile.
Adrian shook his head, "He’s actually a pure mage. Though his emotions are rich, he has enough rationality to control them."
Spencer’s purpose in visiting Adrian was not only to confirm whether he would continue as the City Lord but also to deliver William’s congratulations on Adrian’s ascension to legendary status.
Of course, he also brought his own gift, though it was just a few bottles of strong liquor obtained from William.
Knowing Adrian had better fruit wines, Spencer considered them inferior gifts.
Although William himself didn’t drink, he loved the scent of various strong liquors. Spencer believed this might be a remembrance of his original world.
After sending Spencer off, Adrian stood by the window in his study, looking southward. He genuinely hoped Hill would suddenly appear to congratulate him on his legendary ascension.
But the arrival of Agleya made him realize Hill was unlikely to return from the wilderness any time soon. That child wouldn’t give up doing what he could for this world.
Hill had his battlefield, which might not be dangerous but was certainly exhausting.
But Adrian had his own tasks to do as well.
A cold smile appeared on Adrian’s lips as he looked down at the numerous guests arriving below. His battlefield was also about to begin.
Immersed in his spell research, Hill had no idea what was happening. The Natural Consciousness only alerted him to trouble; it didn’t concern itself with other matters.
A month passed. He could finally use wood magic within the camp now.
When he first used Nature’s Blessing on the cedars and battlefield heather around the camp, the cedars, who could move freely and had persistently followed Hill for his spellcasting, finally couldn’t endure it anymore and directly hurled the battlefield heather into the sky.
These cedars had indeed awakened their wisdom but hadn’t chosen the treant form.
They merely wanted to root themselves as firmly as possible, always in a state of near hibernation, concentrating all their energy on their roots, not even evolving the ability to speak.
Hill had always tried to communicate with them, but unfortunately, while these tree friends harbored high friendliness towards Hill, they had no interest in communication.
Hill’s Nature’s Blessing brought all these tall cedars out of their slumber. The first thing they did after awakening was to expel the battlefield heather competing for nutrients with them.
From their agitated body language, Hill could sense that had it not been for the fact that these heathers belonged to Hill, the cedars would have directly destroyed these foolish contenders for territory.
This further confirmed to Hill that the druids among the Earth Bear could watch over the camp with these cedars; no matter how much Nils probed, it would be useless.
Standing before the northern mountains of the camp, Hill took a deep breath. He needed to step out of this comfort zone and try using Nature’s Blessing on the cedar forest beyond the mountains.
He soon returned to the crater, rolling and crawling with numerous injuries.
Although injured, Hill was pleased. Compared to the violent elemental storms that used to break several of his bones, this time the damage was much less.
Hill had succeeded more than half of the way; he just needed a bit more refinement.
Once he mastered wood magic entirely, it would be time to try the water element.
Hill pondered that if he could use the combined healing spells of Water of Tranquility and Tide Dance Moon Welcoming, even if he got injured, looking at his current wounds, he could heal quickly.
By then, he might be ready to set off for the World’s End. Hill’s body had grown much stronger through this constant self-inflicted damage.
Hill glanced south, thinking Fran would likely be gone by the time he left.
Though slightly regretful, Hill believed he would still have a chance to see his grandfather, maybe on some street in some world, where he and Fran could encounter each other unexpectedly.
With beautiful dreams, Hill continued to toughen himself. Recently, the three little bears had been very well-behaved, so he only needed to check if the kitchen stocks were sufficient.
Outside, the world remained tumultuous as ever.
With Fran gone and Hill in the wilderness, the legendary mages who had planned to exert some pressure found Adrian’s sudden rise to legendary status intriguing.
They sent congratulatory gifts, but no one visited him in person.
Those who once thought Adrian was always easy to compromise, sending a few magisters to find out why he advanced so quickly, were shocked by Adrian’s ruthless turnaround.
Adrian had once feared that without being a legendary mage, he might be killed without being able to resist if attacked.
Now that he was a legendary mage, he feared nothing.
Unless William wanted to kill him, Adrian, backed by Agleya, feared no one.
Previously, he had dealt with everyone because he couldn’t stand straight. Now as the legendary Adrian, he could flip tables without fear of being killed, so he acted decisively.
After all, Agleya was now quite idle, to the point of troubling the world’s people. She was continually testing her control over the sea. Humans finally understood what typhoons and tsunamis meant, and even in sunny places, sudden blizzards could occur.
Clearly, if she found an excuse to stir up trouble, the Sea God would do so without hesitation.
Though Agleya didn’t trouble the undead’s sea territory, she occasionally stirred waves, sending a boatload of the undead straight back home.
Despite signing a contract with William allowing the undead to hunt sea monsters, she still sometimes harmed the undead, filling humans with fear of Agleya.
If not for the undead spreading Agleya’s photos everywhere, coastal humans would likely have sculpted her statue into something incredibly majestic and terrifying. No one wanted to believe this unpredictable Sea God was a delicate and charming girl.
Even though Hill endeavored to delay Agleya’s acceptance of faith, once she showcased her immense prowess and volatility, humans still offered their faith to her.
Even reluctantly, Agleya couldn’t refuse such faith from humans.
They prayed for their safety; Agleya could ignore them, but as a deity of this world, she couldn’t reject them.
Adrian went to the temple outside of Hill Valley and spoke to the glowing god statue, "Agleya, it’s time to establish a temple outside of Central City. The temple outside the Abyssal Gate also needs to be fully illuminated."
The girl in the sea-blue robe quietly appeared, "I know. Although I want to wait for Hill’s Dad to return, I cannot shirk my duties.
The Abyssal Gate needs my attention as well.
Rest assured, I won’t be capricious about this."
Adrian nodded. He had once considered addressing Agleya as Her Majesty the Sea God, but Agleya had straightforwardly refused.
In the heart of this Sea God, while she might not respect Hill’s elders, it was best not to offend them either.
