Surviving The Fourth Calamity -
Chapter 498 - 296: Is This Teleportation Really Fortunate?
Chapter 498: Chapter 296: Is This Teleportation Really Fortunate?
Hill wasn’t particularly tense; this portal was harmless, which is why it could evade both the Natural Consciousness and his own alertness.
He even had the mind to turn and glance at William, nodding to indicate that he was okay.
A portal that could escape the notice of both him and William could only be the legendary Divine Artifact.
It was said to be capable of easily tossing a person thousands or even tens of thousands of kilometers away, depending on where fortune landed them.
So Hill wasn’t worried at all; he had originally planned to start moving towards the Wilderness gradually.
He had money, supplies, and no worries about food and drink. Hill was quite relaxed, considering the teleportation process took a while.
But William was likely to be furious.
The Elf Princess didn’t seem that foolish, did she? Even if she didn’t know who she was dealing with while setting up, it was at least a Saral. To dare open a portal at the God of Time and Space’s consecration site, was she seeking revenge for the Elven God King sending her here to disgrace herself?
Hill felt like he had been kicked. When he landed in the deep sea, he heard a loud rumbling coming down from the Starry Sky.
And the enraged shout of the Elven God King: "My gate! God of Time and Space! What do you think you’re doing? I haven’t provoked you lately!"
"The Princess sent from the Forest of the Elves to Saral opened a portal at the gates of Saral’s Royal Palace. Hill was randomly teleported! It must have been the Divine Artifact you gave her, right? Even William couldn’t keep Hill from being teleported.
On the ground of my divine nation, my Pope watched helplessly as his friend got teleported and was powerless to stop it!
It’s already restrained of me to only shatter the Gate of the Divine Nation."
The Elven God King was momentarily speechless, silent for a long time. He was probably checking to see what had happened.
After a while, he spoke again: "That portal was meant for Druciya to escape! Who would’ve thought she’d be so stupid? She used it just because she didn’t like someone!"
"Even if it wasn’t Hill, she wanted to target a Saral." The God of Time and Space’s calm tone carried boundless fury, "And that was my divine nation on the ground! Does she think she can act freely at will? Is this the confidence you gave her? I see this as a provocation! Elven God King, you must give me an explanation!"
"What happened to my dad? Why can’t I contact him?" Agleya’s voice suddenly rang out, "Elven God King, do you think I’m easy to push around?"
"Calm your waters, Agleya! Don’t flood it! What’s the point of drowning my fruit trees?
Damn God of Time and Space! Couldn’t you warn me first? Did you have to act directly?
This has nothing to do with me! Why would I provoke him for no reason?" The Elven God King’s voice carried a hint of grievance, "Of course, I was wary of Saral and wanted to observe William’s next move.
I even thought about possibly placing an Elf by his side. I was just testing the waters! How would I know she’d suddenly do something so foolish? Druciya has always been a clever girl!"
The God of Time and Space coldly said: "How William deals with them, you should have no objections, right?"
"No! The main troublemaker is yours to deal with, but let the other Elves return!" the Elven God King urgently said, "No other Elf could be her accomplice; there aren’t that many fools around.
Besides, Druciya has always looked down on other Elves; she has no friends. The only one who might care is her demigod brother, but he’s only interested in blood relatives and would never be foolish enough to get involved in this!
Moreover, if anyone else got involved, Enniaris might help, but for Hill, in Enniaris’s eyes, there’s little difference between him and Druciya."
"Hill concealed his identity. That female Elf thought he was a Saral Archmage and took out her anger on him." The God of Time and Space simply said, "Agleya, try contacting Hill again; did he end up in the wilderness?"
"If he were a Saral Archmage, it would be dangerous, but Hill is different." The Elven God King did his best to soothe the two angered deities, "As long as he didn’t end up in the deep sea among the Sea God’s enemies, with his identity as a Nature Warlock, nothing should have happened! The portal’s randomness is its only drawback; it has no inherent dangers! Don’t worry!"
"You speak so lightly!" The God of Time and Space coldly said, "Don’t think this is over! Hill’s safety is my priority for now. We’ll settle the rest later!"
"I will make it up to him." The Elven God King reluctantly said, "I’ll give him something useful across the whole Starry Sky."
"If he’s unharmed." The God of Time and Space’s voice gradually faded away.
Hill looked around blankly: not only was he in the deep sea, but at the bottom, clearly in a trench.
Hill looked up; even with his eyesight, the Starry Sky was still blurry.
Hill knew where he was, not just wilderness, but the deep sea wilderness.
The pressure of the deep sea was immense, and the chaotic elemental currents made it hard for Hill to pinpoint his location.
Fortunately, he could still sense the positions of the various divine kingdoms.
Even deities couldn’t see through this place, and the elements were in such chaos that Hill didn’t know if he could contact Agleya to assure her of his safety.
Agleya had yelled a few moments ago but then went quiet, likely still trying to find a way to communicate with him.
Hill clenched the pendant, instructing List to stay near Agleya’s little ice crystal and inform her of his safety as soon as contact was made.
After all, this pendant could communicate with the Elemental Realm; maybe it could establish a connection for a few seconds occasionally.
Hill’s pendant also had a Divine Power crystal from Agleya; as long as this power remained untriggered, Hill would be safe.
Agleya might be worried about not being able to contact Hill, but she wouldn’t be overly anxious. She at least knew Hill was fine.
Hill looked around again; no magical beasts, no fish, not even many plankton at the sea bottom.
The trench was too deep. Hill walked along the bottom for a while, finding nothing but sand.
High-level sea monsters in conflict with Agleya wouldn’t come here either; the chaotic elements were just as harmful to them.
At most, the tough-skinned ones would come to the deep sea to hide, but their numbers were minimal, so Hill wasn’t worried.
Hill swam lightly, feeling that the elemental currents near the surface were more dangerous, and the undulations in the water were somewhat slower. He could dodge them easily.
He always moved gracefully in water, swimming swiftly.
He glanced up again to confirm the direction of the divine kingdoms, then gently moved his body and swam north.
By the time he nearly reached the end of the trench, List had managed to contact Agleya through the pendant and reported that he was safe.
The young girl’s hands couldn’t penetrate the chaotic elements of the Wilderness Sea yet, so she was furious.
But knowing that despite Hill’s unfortunate drop into the deep sea, the sea monsters couldn’t possibly find him, Agleya felt half relieved.
She firmly told List that she would issue tasks in the temple and near the fountain to the Undead Tribe to keep the sea monsters uneasy.
Though Hill thought it unnecessary and feared it might make the sea monsters suspect he had fallen into the sea.
But if it kept Agleya somewhat at ease, it was worth it.
Anyway, Hill planned to go directly to the Earth Bear’s territory; he wouldn’t even pass through the outer sea. The deep sea the sea monsters referred to didn’t include Hill’s current location!
Even if he couldn’t directly enter the edge of the World’s End to plant trees, he could still stay at the outermost tribe territory there.
Aurelio said a little bear would be born, implying Hill could definitely live in the tribe’s territory.
Hill trusted his resilience; it should surpass that of a newborn bear cub.
Seeing the trench’s end, Hill, about to swim upwards, slowly halted.
He felt a strange attraction.
Fran had once told him that the water element heritage in his blood came from Viola’s father, a Half-Elf descendant of an Elf and a water sorcerer.
Hill never investigated further; he didn’t want to invite trouble, knowing sorcerers had long lifespans.
But now, he felt somewhat panicked.
The law line of the water element on his hand was throbbing. Although the sensation wasn’t intense, his bloodline told him that the end of the trench was the source of his water element heritage.
Hill could ignore this feeling; after all, he mainly identified with the Earth Bear.
But he didn’t want to just turn and leave. Those living here surely weren’t human.
Controlling that odd sensation, Hill resolutely swam towards the end of the trench.
A narrow crevice lay before him, and Hill’s instincts told him there was no danger.
The Natural Consciousness’s joyful dance further assured Hill that whatever was inside, it wasn’t hostile.
Hill swam inside.
After swimming through the winding path for a few hundred meters, a white light shimmered before Hill.
Having been in darkness for so long, his eyes couldn’t help but close for a few seconds.
When he opened them again, he saw an astonishingly beautiful crystal flower tree.
A cavern over a thousand square meters was filled with the white, transparent branches and leaves. Hill had never seen a single crystal flower branch out before.
Apart from the massive ten-square-meter central flower, dozens of smaller ones bloomed on the branches.
The crystal-clear flowers quietly bloomed, their white, transparent glow blending with the white crystal overhead, emanating a warm white radiance.
"You have the blood of the crystal flower," a gentle female voice softly said, "So my lost seed ended up among humans.
Though it didn’t survive, at least it left descendants."
Hill leaned against the cliffside, feeling a bit dazed.
"Hello." Hill weakly said, "I’m a bit startled, forgive my rudeness."
"No need to fear." The crystal flower said calmly, "You’re fortunate to have a strong primary bloodline; otherwise, you would have turned into water by now."
Hill’s mouth twitched into a stiff smile. Was this yet another reminder of his luck?
