Chapter 496: Chapter 294: The Very Tolerant Elf
"You’re hiding something!" Enniaris walked in and immediately spotted the person who was concealing their true face, "What are you up to, hiding your real self here?"
"Well, it’s certainly not about taking a Demigod home for marriage." Hill shifted his position slightly, "I thought today’s main event was over and was about to head home! But it seems someone has prepared a special performance just for me!"
"Who are you? Name yourself!" It was the Elf Princess who reacted appropriately. At times like this, you should be asking who someone is, if they can be silenced, not asking them what they’re doing here.
"An unfortunate passerby," Hill said with a smiling face, "Really now, it seems that the old phrase ’trouble falls from the sky’ used by the Undead Tribe actually happens!"
I have no interest in hearing such boring stuff; if you want to seduce William, go right ahead! He’s in the back hall, just go around to the right, and you’ll get there.
He should be quite bored, too – he definitely has time to watch a show."
The Elves certainly don’t have the ability to use Mana under William’s lockdown. In a mere contest of pure strength, Hill is not afraid of them at all, especially since his Mana isn’t sealed.
Hill spoke up precisely because he was really fed up with Enniaris. He was itching to give him a good thrashing.
Every time he remembered this guy could somewhat be considered a relative, his annoyance grew even stronger.
Luckily, the Elven heritage within his body had been completely eliminated, and there was no trace of that bloodline left. Even facing each other directly, the Elves, sensitive to bloodlines, hadn’t noticed anything.
It would be best if Enniaris impulsively threw a punch at Hill. Without needing to use Mana, Hill could send him straight to Silvermoon in the sky.
Regrettably, even though Enniaris clenched his fists tightly, he still didn’t make a move against the thin and frail Hill.
Even for someone with such a venomous mouth, obviously belonging to a magic-based profession, Enniaris still held back.
Hill raised his eyebrows and flashed a scornful smile.
Although he didn’t speak, the three others present could understand the meaning behind his contemptuous smile: Enniaris truly was an Elf with great restraint!
Druciya quickly pulled away her brother who was about to rush forward: "Don’t be impulsive, he might be a Saral!"
Enniaris snorted coldly, "You’re so arrogant; I guess you can teleport directly in this Royal Palace, can’t you? That’s why you dare provoke a Demigod! But you should know, I have the ability to kill you before you can cast your Teleportation Spell!"
Hill casually crossed his legs, resting his arms atop his knees, "I really do hope you’d try. It seems, compared to your reputation, your dear sister is more keen on securing the status she desires!
Looks like you two aren’t that close after all!
Then why follow her out here? Let the Undead recognize your face.
If it weren’t for you, no one from the Undead Tribe would bother checking out the Elven entourage entering the city. Is the Forest of the Elves trying to attract attention by sending out someone like you, known by everyone?"
Hill must give face to William, who invited him as a guest, and therefore cannot initiate the fight.
Unfortunately, no matter what he said and which weaknesses he exposed, the two Elves opposite him remained fiercely angry but immobile, much to his disappointment.
Could it be because Hill had mentioned William’s name, that they were a bit wary?
It seems the Princess is quite confident in herself! She doesn’t even want to risk being directly thrown out of the Royal Palace.
Hill looked at the two Elves with interest, wondering why they still wouldn’t leave if they didn’t dare to fight?
Some from the Undead Tribe had heard the conversation and were coming over. Although holding huge trays, their faces, full of curiosity, were telling the people and Elves here to either fight or disperse.
Anyone slightly familiar with the practices of the Undead Tribe would know she definitely had her tablet raised.
Druciya glanced at the maid; the Undead girl showed no awareness and happily threw her a coquette’s wink.
She bit her lip in frustration, then turned to Hill, "Sometimes, you should think carefully about whether you can afford to do something unnecessary. Don’t let the day come when you find yourself unwelcome in Saral!"
Enniaris, pulled by his sister, left the scene, giving Hill sitting steadily a few backward glares before departing.
The Undead girl, unable to let go, paced back and forth several times, and finding that the fight was indeed completely over, mumbled to herself as she walked away. Hill faintly heard her cursing the Elves – even with so many of them, none dared to make a move, such complete waste. It was just a Junior Mage, and yet, being Demigods, they didn’t even dare to strike a blow. The reputation of being cowardly turtles was well-deserved.
Hill didn’t know whether to be happy or not.
Even though Enniaris had lost face, Hill wasn’t eager for people to speculate why he hadn’t been hit.
He couldn’t help but sigh and with a wave of his hand, he released an isolation Spell in front of him.
After all, he still had many questions for the person beside him.
"So tell me, what makes this Princess think that just having contact with her makes one fall in love with her?" Hill spoke as he mentioned William’s name, and the King, brimming with curiosity, quietly appeared behind the curtains.
Hill really wanted to knock Enniaris right in front of William, but alas, the Half-Elf Demigod indeed had great restraint. The Undead girl wasn’t wrong – he was more of a cowardly turtle than the Ninja Turtles themselves.
"Perhaps it’s a treasure brought from another realm, with a bit stronger mesmerizing power? The Elven God King, that fellow, he has plenty of good stuff!" William tapped Hill on the shoulder, "Where’s my chair?"
Hill reluctantly brought out another sofa and placed it on the other side of the round table.
He also poured William a glass of fruit wine and set out two plates of snacks on the table.
"You really do enjoy eating," William commented with satisfaction after sampling each one, "No wonder the Undead Tribe says that your domain must be the one that gives out the most recipes."
Hill gave a cold smile, "It seems His Majesty the King isn’t worried about the princess’s tricks at all, is he?"
"No, I am worried!" William sighed, "Their world has quite a few things that can affect deities. No wonder that Druciya is so confident; she must have some connections with the Elven God King. After all, only he could have given her such a thing."
"It must have been given knowing she would be sent to Saral!" Hill didn’t believe that the god king had such a big heart that something useful against William wouldn’t be useful against him as well.
This ambitious princess, it seemed, might not hesitate to test her drugs on her own Main God.
"But at the very least, it proves that they can contact each other directly. Alas! What is the Elven God King thinking? Sending me one of his mistresses? Does he think I would be grateful to him?
If I really fell for it, I would definitely consider him an enemy not to be shared under the same sky," William took a big gulp of the fruit wine, "Hill, if you’re going to be away from your domain for a long time, why don’t you sell me all the fruit wine of these past few years? I’ll send someone to buy it myself!"
"Your Majesty! Thanks to you, the storerooms in my Magic Tower are all preservation-grade." Vacuum-sealed storage rooms, filled with negative ions no less!
"But there’s no need to store so much," William said unapologetically, "Adrian already told me that you hardly drink alcohol and very rarely drink fruit wine."
In the end, Hill agreed. After all, if he didn’t relent, William would not talk about the elves.
William happily took some stock from Hill, and put it directly into his Space Ring, "There are fewer and fewer things I can eat and drink these days. Each one is to be cherished."
Hill knew, William was now in the most painful stage, his body was slowly transforming into a divine body, and many mundane foods were gradually losing their flavor.
On the other hand, once he had fully transformed, he could suppress his own Divine Power reactions and eat anything he wanted without issue.
The fruit trees in Hill’s Domain could almost be considered the purest fruits of the elements, not even the Forest of the Elves necessarily had better fruits than his.
After all, apart from the everlasting blessings of the Natural Consciousness, there was also the Holy Water and Purification Power that Agleya, the Water Deity, had fully activated upon her ascension to divinity.
The fruits near the fountain in Hill Valley, their functions were almost as good as that of Holy Water, and Hill was reluctant to use them for anything else.
Hill had stored many of them in his pendant. These fruits had the most gentle healing, detoxifying, and purifying effects, making them rare treats that anyone could eat, even newborns could benefit greatly from them.
William looked out at the great hall with an indifferent expression, "This banquet means nothing to me other than adding some wealth to the families of Saral.
Just because I’ve allowed these princesses into Saral, does it mean those kingdoms will no longer be wary of me taking action against them?
The significance of this is only to give the common folk, who are satisfied with the illusion of friendship, a false sense of peace.
However, I truly have no interest in other countries for now, as long as no one angers me.
No matter who is behind those countries, if they make the first foolish move, no deity will stand up for them, and the only limit is probably not to annihilate their nations.
There’s such a vast wilderness to the north of Saral! I have no interest in moving south, but that doesn’t mean I’m not willing to profit from a war.
Hill, you know how poor I am right now, don’t you?
Time and space will not always agree to help!
I won’t make the first move anyway, I’ll just watch to see if they can stay stable under my pressure.
As for the elves, I am on guard every second they are around.
Space magic constantly surrounds me, they wouldn’t dare attack me directly, that would be suicide.
If they tried to use drugs, whatever it was, it would be directly consumed by spatial rifts.
My power is still not enough, otherwise I would definitely open rifts right on the borders of the Elf God’s Divine Kingdom!
How could I possibly believe that the elves, who have had the upper hand in this world for hundreds of thousands of years, would just give up the struggle for it?
They might give up harming the land, but they certainly wouldn’t give up the struggle for secular power, it has just become more secretive.
If the princesses hadn’t shown up, I would have believed that the Forest of the Elves might need to recuperate temporarily."
Hill nodded silently, and then suddenly clasped his hands together, pressing them against his forehead, "I hope the rift His Majesty mentioned opens right at the doorstep of the Elven God King’s Divine Kingdom."
