Chapter 474: Chapter 272: The Final Battle! The Enemy’s Wails Are Always Worth Celebrating
When Hill emerged from the World Membrane, he saw a row of Legendary Laws standing with their backs to him.
They were poised to block the escape route of the Furnace Artifact, lest the Dwarves fail to break through the Gods’ obstruction and turn back into the world.
As soon as Hill showed his face, the dozen or so legends turned around with smiles, then cast a glance at Fran who stood to one side.
Fran, with a cold expression, stared at Hill who had rushed up to provoke trouble, and unusually, grabbed his collar and pulled him to the side.
Hill obediently followed Fran and stood to the left of the Legendary Mages.
As the most recent among the Legendary Laws, he indeed was the youngest present, although not necessarily the weakest, but for the most part, Hill was outmatched.
Hill stood quietly, mouth shut, not uttering a word.
This was not the time for talk, the battle ahead was fierce!
What if he said the wrong thing and Fran really sent him back?
Hill looked at Fran, slightly ahead of him, body shielding him; he could only blink and take out his fan, with the Crystal Ring on his hand shining brightly and his blue robes shimmering with flowing light.
Fran glanced at the fully armed Hill and finally felt relieved, the Crystal Ball orbiting him in circles.
The occasional spark of light signified the excitement in the heart of the Alchemist Master; he truly wanted to rush forward and secure the Furnace for good.
The Great Furnace was currently being bound by a long silver rope, the other end attached to a massive Silver Wolf.
Next to the Silver Wolf stood a beautiful Goddess, her long moon-white dress trailing across the Starry Sky, her slender hand resting on the rope, and her broad sleeves covering her hand movements. Given that the Silver Wolf looked quite strained, but its back was not taut, it seemed that the main force holding the Furnace must be the Goddess of the Silvermoon.
The Silvermoon Goddess smiled as she watched the battle unfold, the human Deities had already joined forces to block the Dwarf King and his followers in the Starry Sky.
Her position was delicate; several Silver Rings danced around her, but the aim of the rings was not toward the Dwarves.
Hill knew that the Silvermoon Goddess was preparing against the Elf Deity System.
No matter how nicely they spoke, the deities of Teraxil would no longer believe every word of the Elves.
Moreover, the Elf Deity System had not said any kind words.
They just silently observed everything that happened, causing some anxiety among the deities.
The Elven God King was never someone with much brains; no one knew if he might impulsively decide to send both humans and Dwarves to their doom.
And if the Elven God King indeed launched a surprise attack, would Coron really punish his own son for gods that had already fallen?
Even if he would, could the dead be revived?
Even if similar Law Deities were to appear later, the soul would not be the same as before.
It came as no surprise to Hill that Agleya was also there.
She was standing behind the Sun God, gazing over towards Hill’s side from a distance.
Noticing Hill’s gaze, Agleya waved her hand to greet him, then immediately summoned a sky-full of Water Tornados, charging straight at a female Dwarven Goddess.
This was a Dwarf Valkyrie wielding a huge axe and clad in chainmail, with punk-style long hair and braids flying, looking cold and acting with decisive moves.
She swung her axe, cutting through the Tornado rushing towards her, but still got injured by the biting cold wind within it.
Hill was momentarily stunned; was this the Dwarf Evil Goddess who had wanted to kill him? Agleya must really want her dead.
But what was with that outfit?
Moreover, Hill had always felt that the Dwarf Queen was the real culprit behind the scenes, yet this female Evil Goddess stood alone to the side, with other Dwarven Gods engaged in battles with the human deities and none aiding her against Agleya’s assault.
The power of this Evil Goddess was malevolent and elusive, but not as strong as Agleya’s.
"That is the Dwarf Queen," Fran said, noticing Hill’s puzzled look, and explained directly, "That was her before she made her move.
Agleya did not appear at first but later suddenly launched a surprise attack.
I do not know how she was so certain that the Dwarf Queen was the Evil God who attacked you.
But she acted decisively, almost killing the Dwarf Queen on the spot. After being seriously injured, the Queen suddenly revealed her true nature.
She seems to be an enemy that had infiltrated amidst the Dwarves; when the Dwarf King nearly got incinerated by the Sun God, he discovered his Queen was actually the enemy of their master.
It seems she holds a much higher rank than him. So even though he was roaring with rage, he only declared her no longer a part of this Dwarf Deity System.
She is probably a well-known Goddess from the Abyss.
The Princess of the Conquering Axe.
It seems she did not come in her true form; the Dwarf King still wished to return to the Abyss, not wanting to offend her completely. He spoke very politely and did not dare to call her by name, only by title."
Hill recalled briefly, but could not remember who that was.
He only remembered the most powerful among the Dwarf Deity System.
As someone who fancied aesthetics, he had only been interested in the stories of human and elven deities, and as for other deity systems, except for their own, not many cared.
But still, he paid more attention than to things like toads, after all, Dwarves were still a strong humanoid race.
Dwarves, be they kind neutral or evil, are all children of Moradin and Truesilver.
Moreover, they all possess an unusually distinctive ugliness.
The best outcome for a Dwarven Evil God from the Abyss would be expulsion by the Moradin God System; it’s unlikely another Main God would pop up to avenge her.
Besides, whether in front of Moradin’s daughter or granddaughter, the human deities indeed have no way of dealing with her.
At most, they could kill off one of her avatars to weaken her a bit.
So now it’s only Agleya who is butting heads with her.
She’s fighting fervently. Hill watched attentively for a while, and noticed Agleya’s Divine Power had grown considerably over time, and it seemed that her combat with the sea monsters had honed her skills significantly.
Knowing her finesse wasn’t up to par, and having seen too much of Hill effortlessly summoning storms, she decided to prevail by sheer volume, releasing dozens of Ice Tornadoes and Water Tornadoes that spun rapidly around the Dwarven woman.
The female Evil God’s axe-swinging speed clearly couldn’t keep up anymore.
Seeing Agleya gaining the upper hand, Hill felt reassured; the Valkyrie’s martial skills were indeed noteworthy, and this encounter would give Agleya a taste.
Hill glanced back once; the World Membrane was clearly undisturbed, and it seemed William had no intention of stepping out.
The Legendary Laws, who temporarily couldn’t intervene, also seemed puzzled as to why the King of Saral wouldn’t take action again.
"Why hasn’t the King of Saral come out?" a big-bearded Mage asked Draculus, who was standing in the middle, "Isn’t it all over? Those demons shouldn’t need him, right? Even Fran’s grandson has come out!"
"How could he possibly leave the world?" Draculus said impatiently, "Stop talking nonsense! The King of Saral is just one step away from igniting the Divine Fire, all by his own restraint! If he leaves the world, he cannot return!"
"How could I possibly know that? Such things are not common knowledge! Only you always have the most to know!" The big-bearded Mage sneered, "But you don’t tell anyone! Is this some sort of grand secret? Would talking more kill you?
If you didn’t neglect your duties, how could the Mage Association have gotten to where it is today!"
"Are you settling scores with me?" Draculus’s face turned cold, "The Mage Association was something you wanted to build. I just fulfilled your wishes! But it doesn’t mean I have to bother about it!
You’ve got all the power you wanted, so naturally, you should handle the matters!
Do I have to make your meals and feed you? Then clean and tidy up afterwards?
What do you take me for? A housewife?
If you want such nice treatment, you might as well go to the King of Saral; he’s better suited for it."
Hill took a glance; he knew why this person dared to question Draculus.
Despite their poor relationship, he truly was Draculus’s junior brother and also a vice-president of the Mage Association.
They had both once studied under the same Elf Mage and had lived together for several hundred years.
Although Draculus was an extremely aloof person, if it was just verbal offense, he wouldn’t go so far as to kill his own junior brother.
But Draculus, was he venting about something that had happened with William?
After talking about being a housewife, he straight up said William was more fit for it.
"I’ll tell you when we get back." Fran stopped Hill with his eager eyes, preventing any further inquisition.
It seems William has quite offended Draculus!
Fran didn’t even want to discuss it in front of him.
Was this giving Draculus a bit of face?
Yet, Hill really felt like laughing. What a pretense of dignity!
It was not about staying silent, it was about not explaining in front of Draculus.
Was this the highest respect Fran could offer to this ancestor of his sect?
Draculus, unfazed, simply said, "Pay attention! The Demigod is about to come out; that’s our real task!"
Hill looked up; the Sun God and the God of Time and Space, as the main forces, had completely restrained the Dwarf Deity System.
Under the brilliant illumination of the Sun, the Evil Faction inherently had its strength halved.
The Sun God had almost turned into the Light of Illumination; Hill dared not look directly at it, it was too dazzling.
And some of the weaker Dwarf Deities had already lost their lives in the crossfire of the divine battle.
These Dwarven Deities, only becoming deities by holding onto a fraction of the Dwarf King’s Laws, were so weak that a Legendary Mage could kill them with ease.
They couldn’t dodge the spatial cracks that filled the sky, nor could they escape the Rose Sword charged with endless lightning, nor the flying Purple Rose Whip.
Amongst them, a golden feather pen, a parchment that released a spell with every turned page, and a golden wand emitting strange light moved with agility, darting among the Dwarf Deities, whose numbers were dwindling.
All the human deities had appeared.
With every fallen Dwarven Deity, a bit of the essence of the Laws was released, so no matter how tragic their death cries, the observing Legendary Laws could only joyously celebrate:
The world had become a little more complete.
