Chapter 470: Chapter 268: Revenge! The same moves are just courting death!
In front of Hill appeared a city atop a mountain peak. Or rather, a city atop a grand volcano.
The rim of the volcano served as their defensive wall, its steel exterior shimmering with a cold, hard glow.
Hill could feel that the dwarves controlled not just half of the Metal System, but also a part of the Fire Element.
This was probably why no deity of the fire element had ever been born in this world.
King William’s ship finally stopped directly in front of Dwarf King City.
Though it was hovering in mid-air, the ship was almost touching the city’s walls.
A Grand Knight could jump the roughly 100 meters between them.
Hill pondered for a moment, then raised his cloud ship above the clouds.
Ensuring that the stern of William’s ship was still within the radiation range of the demi-god artifact was sufficient.
The dwarven city walls were lined with cannons.
Behind them stood fully armed dwarves, all hidden in their bunkers.
At the foot of the mountain was a continuous line of the Undead Tribe, climbing quickly.
Apparently understanding the danger of the ascent, the undead had neither ridden horses nor brought their magical beast companions.
After all, they didn’t feel tiredness, only the lower limit of physical depletion.
When their stamina was depleted, nibbling on a couple of pieces of bread and taking a sip of water would suffice to continue climbing.
As the vanguard reached tens of thousands, a roar emanated from the dwarves on the wall, "Ready! Fire!"
Most of the undead vanguard were knights, who promptly raised their giant shields when the dwarves shouted "ready."
Mages in the rear, within range of the cannons, took off and added a layer of protective shields to them.
And the priests had already begun casting healing spells.
There was no movement on King William’s ship; he had no intention of shielding the undead below from the cannon damage.
Hill understood well why William did not intervene.
The undead actually killed by this seemingly fierce cannon fire were few.
The Sky Knights’ shield wall was extremely strong; the brutal cannon fire indeed took away half of their health bars, but the priests standing behind nearly immediately replenished it following the cannon fire.
The Undead Tribe essentially did not suffer from dismemberment, so there couldn’t be non-fatal reductions in their numbers.
Unless the dwarves could kill them outright, such cannon fire would at most provide training for the undead’s coordination and cooperation.
The dwarven cannon fire didn’t last many rounds before the undead vanguard reached the base of their walls.
The cannons were now completely ineffective.
Dwarves in heavy armor stood up behind the cannons, shields in hand.
Both sides understood that once the walls were breached and the undead mages could fly overhead, holding Dwarf King City would be impossible.
The war erupted almost instantly.
The dwarves still didn’t understand that for the Undead Tribe, what truly mattered wasn’t the mages flying in the sky, but the cautiously careful priests on the ground.
The moment their cannon fire targeted the following mages, it marked the beginning of the walls’ breach.
The undead Sky Knights abruptly leapt up, buoyed by the continuous healing spells cast by the priests.
Indeed, many mages fell, but those dead undead were instantly resurrected on King William’s ship, now even closer to the walls.
When the undead Sky Knights surged onto the wall, tying up all the dwarf warriors, platforms rose beneath the priests’ feet, brought up by the Earth Mages to level with the top of the wall.
Hill gently waved his hand, and on those platforms, summoned a Forest Array for each.
He smelled the scent of evil.
A black light swiftly pierced in from outside the cloud ship, and Hill, who had already activated the defensive magic array, found it as feeble as a white paper easily torn apart before this black light.
Although the light flickered, it was utterly ineffective.
The protective magic halo around Hill also failed to work, shattering instantly.
Was this a Demon-Slaying Dagger?
Hill smiled indifferently, his shield formed by the Water Law blocking this terrifying strike.
Caught her!
The crystal fan he had always been holding in his left hand suddenly enlarged, with twelve tornadoes along with twelve streaks of black light rushing toward the left side of King William’s ship.
The ship immediately lit up with a silvery light, spatial cracks gaping open along the ship’s sides as hundreds of Space-Time Dragons roared past.
The Demon-Slaying Dagger didn’t return to its owner’s hand; instead, ferocious vines sprawling over the cloud ship’s railings formed a net, trapping it within.
Windmill Jasmine and Lily of the Valley were indeed magical plants Hill often carried with him, but that did not mean they were the only ones existing in his valley.
They merely liked to come out and see the outside scenery.
This vine was the truly terrifying type.
It usually camouflaged itself, blending into the surrounding environment and only forming a net to instantly trap prey when it encountered them. The strength of this net exceeded that of many legendary powers.
Even Hill had to exert great effort to tear it open.
This time, Hill had found this demigod vine in his valley and asked for this branch to hang directly on the ship’s railing.
The purpose was to control this divine artifact.
He watched as the dwarf woman forced out by his and William’s combined efforts fluttered her fan, sending twelve thin swords into the air.
Subjected to the legendary-level twelve-fold Gravity Spell, the dwarf woman could no longer stand in mid-air and was directly pulled to the ground.
Hill revealed a cold smile, thinking if she wanted to stab him through, he would return the favor with Ten Thousand Arrows Pierce Heart!
It seemed that the World Will had also received Hill’s wish, as the spells attached to the twelve thin swords were mostly Light Feather Arrow Spells, each directly summoning one hundred eighty long arrows ablaze with Sunfire.
The rest were various debuff spells, such as Slow and Bind.
"Damn it! You poisoned me!" the dwarf woman shouted angrily, "You call yourself part of the Kind Alignment?"
Hill merely sneered, saying nothing; Hill’s wood magic was not known for its attack power, but as one who could control the Wood Law, he could directly utilize the law to blend various plant toxins.
Who told her that a Nature Warlock wouldn’t use poison? Nature is never short of poisonous flora and fauna.
Kind Alignment, whether to kill depends on whom you kill, not how you kill.
Hill watched expressionlessly as the dwarf, paralyzed by the toxins and unable to move, could only watch helplessly as she was struck by Ten Thousand Arrows Pierce Heart.
What of a demigod then?
A Legendary Mage only hesitated a moment before those who could control the laws of deities, but it wasn’t that he couldn’t fight desperately.
And a demigod is only a bit stronger than a normal legendary.
No Legendary Mage capable of controlling multiple laws would fear a demigod.
What Hill feared was only the Divine Artifact in her hand, what he worried about was merely not capturing her.
Had she thought herself invincible under William’s watch and become arrogant?
She really dared to come!
A Legendary Mage fully prepared was not easy to deal with.
In Hill’s room on the Cloud Ship, a small Wood Element Lord was continuously casting Nature’s Blessing to help the vines recover from being wounded by the Divine Artifact Dagger.
No matter how fiercely that dagger struggled, it could not break through the large net trapping it.
Hill couldn’t help but laugh for a moment, causing the dwarf woman to halt her breathing, while the Divine Artifact Dagger was still struggling, really thinking he was a fool who knew nothing?
Hill directly activated the Demi-God Artifact Painting, and the power of the Sun God ungrudgingly shot straight at the corpse.
"Ah! Damn it!" a sharp female voice suddenly erupted as a wisp of black smoke rose from the small corpse.
Indeed, it was an avatar of the Evil God.
The power of the Sun God suddenly intensified, and under the light, the fleeing black smoke completely turned into nothingness.
Hill glanced back, a guest seemed to have appeared in the room upstairs where the painting was kept.
But since the guest chose to appear silently, Hill also simply refrained from showing any gratitude.
Was the trouble with the dwarves getting so out of hand that even William alone couldn’t handle it?
Hill wrapped his hands in vine leaves and picked up the Divine Artifact Dagger that had fallen motionlessly to the ground.
He first placed it inside a ring, then put the ring in a shell, around which he wrapped the hardest stone, enfolding it further with grey chromium silver, before finally placing it in a Mithril box.
Although its owner seemed already dead, Hill didn’t know if this Divine Artifact Dagger was controlled by that soul fragment or by a deity of the starry sky.
However, Hill was distinctly aware that the soul within the body of the dwarf woman belonged to the Evil God.
He looked up at the starry sky; the Dwarf Deity System, although more aligned to evil, was still really situated in the location of the Neutral Faction.
Hill would not mistake that line.
As Hill pondered, the battle for the city walls below had come to a close.
The defending dwarves were annihilated.
The Undead Tribe’s mages were already flying in the sky, dismantling the city walls.
The rumbling sound awakened Hill.
The result of millions of magisters casting spells concurrently was definitely not something any Defensive Magic Array could withstand.
Hill watched as the Undead Tribe soared into the sky, his lips twitching slightly.
The decision on the magnitude of the wall dismantling wasn’t dependent on the number of mages, but on the fact that the sky was already too crowded, and from afar, the casting distance wasn’t sufficient.
The wall was dismantled rapidly, and in the dust of complete destruction, an arrow rain emerged.
The mages were prepared, or rather, when they dismantled the wall, they were always protected by colorful eggshell-like shields.
But the arrows used by the dwarves likely had demonslaying capabilities. Even though the priests on the platform were healing fiercely, many mages were still shot dead.
Fortunately, as the mages dismantled the walls, the knights had already tightly surrounded the platform where the priests were.
Around the outer periphery of the Forest Array on the platform, the inner three circles and outer three circles were occupied by the strongest Shield Knights.
Before the complete destruction of the city walls, they had all set up a Shield Wall.
Thus, even though they faced an arrow rain no less than that faced by the mages, the casualties among the priests were minuscule.
To the Undead Tribe, it didn’t matter how many knights, mages, or sorcerers died.
After all, there were always people ready to fill any gaps.
As long as the priests remained sturdy, they feared nothing.
After the arrow rain, the dwarves appeared in tight formation, ready to battle the Undead Tribe.
