Chapter 452: Chapter 251 Third-rate Idol Drama, Empress Changed Again
"What happened?"
Hill sat up in confusion, seriously looking at the elf in the sky above the Forest of the Elves.
No matter how sweet the smile, it could not hide the smugness of the final victor.
"I am Trenna Teder, the Elf Princess, designated by His Majesty the Divine King as the next Queen.
Three days from now, at dawn, His Majesty the Divine King will officially crown me.
The decrees of His Majesty the Divine King will also be transmitted by me in the future. Such disgraceful acts will never happen again!
His Majesty’s edict:
Although the name of the Dark Moon Elves resulted from a misunderstanding, it cannot be changed.
As compensation, His Majesty the Divine King allows the Dark Moon Elves freedom to come and go in the Forest of the Elves.
As long as they honor the great Divine King, they must not be obstructed!"
The fighting ceased, including Virginia.
She turned her head to look at her stiff ex-husband, extended her paw again, but still didn’t dare to continue attacking.
The eyes of the Elven God King were definitely watching here now.
If she dared to cause any more trouble, she would likely be struck by lightning!
Virginia circled in the air, then landed, tentatively leading the Dark Moon Elves away.
Sure enough, there was no obstruction.
Although the Dark Moon Elves were confused, they quietly followed behind Virginia.
They silently, secretly trailed behind.
Although it all started with them, at this moment, it had completely nothing to do with them.
Hill, watching the sudden turn of events, was completely baffled, his eyes filled with questions.
Was the result of the three days and nights of fighting that the Elven God King had gotten himself a new wife?
One could only imagine how the confused Dark Moon Elves still in the Forest of the Elves felt.
At least the female priest vying for the position of the Lord of the Dark Moon Elves looked as gray as death.
Her demigod father belonged to the legitimate line of the Elven Royal Family.
In an instant, the support she relied on became a black mountain ready to crush her at any moment.
Originally set to become a deity without any surprises, now her support had suddenly collapsed more than halfway.
Whether her mother could still speak on her behalf in the presence of the Elven God King’s new affection was unknown.
Life was truly full of surprises.
Watching this sudden shift from comedy to workplace drama left Hill too stunned to speak.
He opened his mouth, but only managed a light "ah."
The former elf queen had sat on the throne for a hundred thousand years.
Although she ascended through Karula’s feigned death, she still pleased the Elven God King immensely.
Was all that already a thing of the past?
Although the Elven God King was always somewhat negligent, this was too neglectful!
While the former queen slightly abused the divine orders, her methods of suppressing rivals had been used countless times over the years, causing major events spreading globally more than once or twice.
This time, although it was a bit more over the top, it hadn’t truly affected the Divine King.
At most, it brought some shame to the Forest of the Elves. They had faced even greater losses recently, hadn’t they?
At least the Dark Moon Elves, no matter how angry, hadn’t considered changing their faith.
Or perhaps, they simply didn’t have the guts.
So, was the Elven God King’s decision purely a whim for a new queen?
Did he believe a mere lover’s position was too low for his beloved beauty now?
Hill looked at the next Queen floating mid-air. She was a very beautiful, sweet girl, exuding a pure, innocent charm.
Entirely different from the graceful elegance of the former Queen.
Maybe the harsh beatings the Elven God King had endured these past years made him crave sweet, pure affection?
Hill returned to the deck, feeling quite disinterested.
The Elven God King always had a knack for turning a thrilling drama into a nauseating third-rate romance.
All the conspiracies and upheavals ultimately boiled down to competing for a male lead’s affection, as if nothing else mattered in the world besides that absurd romance.
Though in essence, they were vying for power under the guise of love, the display was all about petty love affairs.
Sporadic viewing could still be entertaining, but too much left Hill feeling despondent, wishing to switch channels.
Sadly, in this world, there were only three channels to watch, and the other two were currently dominated by war news.
Hill prayed earnestly for the new queen and Karula to be like one person, or like mother and daughter.
His instincts told him that this new queen was definitely not here for something simple.
And the suspiciously absent Karula loomed large.
As for whether the Elven God King realized this, Hill had no idea.
After all, if it were just Karula on her own, the Elven God King wouldn’t fear her.
So perhaps he simply didn’t care.
Rose had already been blocked outside the world, not just within the planet, but the entire starry sky no longer allowed deities beyond the world’s capacity.
As long as she couldn’t enter, the Elven God King had nothing to fear. The extravagant prodigal likely had countless divine artifacts!
Only, knowing Karula’s cunning, Hill doubted her target was truly the Elven God King himself.
If the Elven God King believed he could outwit Karula, Hill could only hope she wouldn’t cause too much commotion, ultimately involving humans.
And preferably steer clear of the Earth Bear.
Hill always felt that this world’s World Will was incredibly strong, no weaker than Rose’s world.
Maybe when the Earth was fully restored, and the world’s laws perfected, even the world level would rise.
Hill thought about it, realizing that he might actually live to see that day.
If he wanted to live long enough to witness the beautiful future, he needed to avoid this nauseating drama that would shorten his life span.
Hill opened the Isolation Array and prepared to work on his craft.
His weapon’s rough shape was nearly completed; now it needed constant polishing.
This was delicate work, and Hill patiently proceeded slowly.
Until Adrian flew onto the cloud ship, interrupting him.
He came to return a book.
Hill was a bit surprised. "Uncle Adrian, who did you use that excuse for?"
If he had come to see Hill with an ulterior motive, Hill wouldn’t mind, but coming solely to return a book, was Adrian not busy?
"Too many people at the Lord’s Mansion recently." Adrian said strangely, "Central City is also overcrowded. I came here to escape the commotion."
"Why did they come to you?" Hill laughed.
Adrian was someone no one dared provoke or court for favors anymore.
Most mages still harbored some fear of the original Mages’ Association members. Since Adrian turned against them, likely few mages would visit him.
As for the nobles, with Spencer and Belter of Saral, they wouldn’t approach a mage lord with limited autonomy.
"Draculus is here!" Adrian sneered, "Though he declared the Mages’ Association disbanded, allowing branches in various countries to choose between national integration or remaining academic institutions.
Saral’s Mages’ Association had long been in name only. Their branch leader hadn’t returned for ages, whether he was alive was unknown.
So, the dissolution of the Mages’ Association affected us little; life went on.
And in Saral, thanks to the Temple of Time and Space, no Legendary Mages want to stay, including former Haifas and Cortez mages.
But in other countries, anyone capable of becoming a branch head typically had a Legendary Mage backing them.
All those Legendary Mages who parted ways with Draculus flocked to these countries.
Previously, distances kept Legendary Mages and royalty from clashing over resources, enabling smooth cooperation.
But now, these countries refuse to give mage resources to the Mages’ Association!
Saral produced countless mages over the years! Every city could build arrays and magic towers for national safety.
Other countries want to follow suit! Even if not for citizens’ safety, they’re keen on their own protection.
The students sent to the Mages’ Association mostly died this time. Do you think those nations regret sending their mage apprentices?
They’re clinging to this, refusing to hand over mage-aptitude children to the mages.
If they want to train mages, it must be in specialized academies, and they can’t just take apprentices!
They need the students’ consent and must allow others to compete.
These mages loathe losing control over their apprentices.
Yet, they dare not act against a country’s king and nobility; aside from World Will’s punishment, all the churches are watching!
Divine Descent wasn’t created solely for combating demons.
So, many have come seeking Draculus for solutions."
Hill glanced at Adrian in confusion. Wasn’t the Mages’ Association outside the city? William even ceded the area to various organizations, so how could this affect Adrian?
"Do you think they’d dare stay near the Sun God Temple?" Adrian laughed, "Though Draculus’s disciple built the Magic Tower as far as possible, it’s still within range.
The influence isn’t as severe now; mages no longer suddenly repent.
However, those aligned with evil might feel restless.
These mages struggling for power with royalty qualify as neutral-leaning-evil at best.
Some can’t stay in Central City, seeking outlying land ownership, too ambitious!
You can’t stake claims in this Triangle Zone without His Majesty’s permission!
But some can stay in the city; mages dislike living too closely together, so inns are full."
Hill paused. The area surrounding Central City meant William had allocated ample land to these forces, dividing a pie.
And Draculus had claimed the mages’ share.
Those arriving late got nothing.
