Surviving The Fourth Calamity -
Chapter 415 - 214: Rose Maid, Elf Queen!
Chapter 415: Chapter 214: Rose Maid, Elf Queen!
Hill opened his eyes in surprise. How could this be related to the Elven God King?
He glanced slightly distracted at Lady Karula.
The female elf before him was truly beautiful.
She wore the traditional tight elven short robe, holding a thin sword. She was tall and graceful, with long limbs and a very slim waist. Her long blue hair gently flowed behind her, brushing over her pointed ears and resting on her perky hips.
On her delicate, deep-set face, a small, pert nose sat above thin, smiling lips.
Karula stood silently in mid-air, like a beautiful landscape.
Her eyes were like autumn waters, ethereal and fluttering.
But this unusual beauty sent a chill down Hill’s spine.
Fran frowned, glancing upstairs where the unexpected guest had angrily thrown something.
Although he remained silent, he rolled his eyes unceremoniously.
Hill could only smile bitterly inside.
He had become accustomed to disguising his feelings; otherwise, he, too, would have shown a look of shock.
Anyone with common knowledge about Rose would think of a peculiar demon.
"Carol! So it’s you!" the Elven God King shouted, "You’re not dead!"
Though the starry sky shook, no one made a sound.
Hill sensed that even Draculus and the God of Smithing, who were battling intensely, had slowed down, fearful of missing any words.
Hill had long noticed that this God of Smithing had a penchant for gossip.
He wondered if it was because the Divine Kingdom was too dull and the god could not resist any bit of amusement he came across.
"The second queen of the Forest of the Elves was named Carol, a demigod," Fran suddenly said, "But she couldn’t bear the Elven God King’s child and eventually died in sorrow ten thousand years ago."
Was it because the mischief had almost been completed, and the traps set, that it was time to find new amusement in this world?
The Mage Association is indeed a good place, with a high vantage point and long life spans.
Though Karula was known as a young Legendary Mage, she had actually joined the Mage Association several thousand years ago.
The Forest of the Elves’ first queen was the fallen Lord of the Moon Elves. After she ascended to the starry sky, the Elven God King appointed one of his lovers as the elf queen.
The Elven God King had many lovers, several of whom bore children. But in the end, he chose Carol, who had no children but had been with him the longest, as queen.
Hill recalled the Elven God King’s words when he crowned Carol: Since I can’t choose the most suitable one, I’ll choose the most beautiful.
From then on, Queen Carol was known as the most beautiful woman on the continent.
Her death caused much lament in the human world.
She was Hunter Goddess’s longest companion and also the Elven God King’s lover, holding a very high status.
Though she stood in a maid’s position, she was also a fruit borne from the same tree as the Hunter Goddess!
The Moon Elves listened to the Hunter Goddess because she was the strongest deity and their elder sister.
They were entirely different from those who followed.
Before she had to ascend to the starlit sky after giving birth to her daughter, the Lord of the Moon Elves always held the position of Elf Queen.
If it hadn’t been for the Elven God King insisting on an heir recognized by both Moon Elves and elves, her life would have been quite easy.
If not for her daughter, the Lord of the Moon Elves balanced on a tightrope quite well and never thoroughly sided with the elves.
The Elven God King probably thought having a child to tie the Moon Elf Goddess to his side was a good idea!
However, for her child’s sake, the Lord of the Moon Elves was unlikely to continue helping the Elven God King win over the Hunter Goddess.
If the Hunter Goddess’s feelings for the Elven God King deepened, who knew what irrational actions this eternally problematic woman might take!
What if this woman’s mind became inflated again and she happened to dislike her child?
Or if the Hunter Goddess abandoned her pursuit of the Moon Goddess and decided to bear a child for the Elven God King herself, wouldn’t the Lord of the Moon Elves’ daughter be doomed?
She could serve as the Hunter Goddess’s maid, a result of an innate difference in power.
But as a daughter of both a goddess and an Elven Lord, could she let her daughter continue as a maid and follower?
The Lord of the Moon Elves was clearly a woman with her own thoughts and would have considered all this.
From then on, even if the Hunter Goddess still believed she deeply loved the Elven God King, it was clear she was now wholly driven towards power.
Hill pressed his lips, suspecting the identity of those stirring the Hunter Goddess’s pursuit of the Moon Goddess was also found.
But he really hoped for another choice.
Regardless of being an enemy of the elves, this was still one of the Elven God King’s lovers!
At this moment, his mood was just like Fran’s muttering: "What kind of fool listens to the instigations of a rival?"
Hill suddenly felt that the Earth Bear’s bloodline was quite good.
Really quite good.
He saw that Fran’s gaze upon him revealed Fran’s true feelings as well.
Thankfully, it was not like the Moon Elves’ intelligence!
"Ah! Fool! Did you really think anyone would love you so much as to die heartbroken?" Karula’s thin lips curved into a cold smile. "Even the foolish Hunter Goddess chose power over a pretty face!"
Her eyes were filled with malice: "Because of you lot, I must reveal this face. Many plans can no longer be used! Human! Go die!"
Fran furrowed his brows, and the crystal ball instantly soared into the sky, thousands of different spells directly attacking the incoming Karula with her sharp sword.
In the guise of an elf, her power even exceeded that of a demigod.
Neither water, fire, nor thunder spells had any effect on her when they landed on her.
Her physical defense was also formidable.
Fortunately, Fran’s defensive magic blocked Karula’s myriad of sword strikes.
Hill glanced at Fran, using his eyes to ask if he should intervene. Fran shook his head, indicating he could still manage.
Fran’s crystal ball emitted light once more. This time, the spells were sharp golden arrows, space cuts, and wind blades.
This time, Karula had a harder time defending.
She didn’t even have the chance to strike back.
But Fran also had no way to deal with her.
It was his first time meeting someone immune to so many types of magic.
However, Fran’s goal was merely to stall Karula, not to fight to the death with her, so he stood his ground firmly.
But Karula’s hand reached toward the blue crystal pendant on her waist a few times.
Fran also noticed her movements and intensified his spellcasting.
Hill gritted his teeth, his fingers gently flicking.
With several roars, figures of more than ten Element Lords appeared by the deep pit.
In such a dangerous situation, even his Element Lords from this world Hill summoned as projections.
Though a projection only had two-thirds of the lord’s power, sheer numbers could compensate for a lack of strength!
These Element Lords had been arguing for a long time and were eager to join the fray.
This included several Wood Element Lords who had long ignored the material world’s affairs, yet this terrifying explosion had startled them.
Even though they had connected with other worlds’ Elemental Realms, they were, after all, born from this world.
They feared the complete destruction of this world, rendering them rootless elements.
So they almost all found Hill’s Earth Elemental Lord, wanting to come down and have a look.
Hill had to soothe them for a long time before they agreed to wait for the right moment to answer Hill’s elemental call.
Now was the perfect time; the demon’s hands were probably played out.
Even Rose’s maid had been summoned.
"Hill!" Fran exclaimed in surprise, "Your mana!"
Hill waved his hand, using the last of his strength to cast another Water of Tranquility.
"You can use it twice?" Fran was unusually shocked.
"Yes, but there’s a time penalty," Hill replied succinctly.
Of course, Fran wouldn’t ask how long it took to reuse it here. He was just pleased to restore his mana and spiritual power.
"Damn it!" Realizing the enemy’s power had only grown stronger, Karula finally became utterly furious.
"My lord! Forgive my incompetence!" she screamed, flinging away the blue crystal pendant in her hand.
As soon as the blue crystal left her body, Karula’s skin tore apart, instantly transforming into a demon with the upper body of a woman and the lower body of a spider.
The crystal seemed to be the treasure helping her stay in the Neutral Faction. Once it left her, her aura immediately became malevolent and venomous.
Her face remained beautiful, but the ethereal and otherworldly feeling was completely gone, replaced by a deadly allure, evil and bizarre.
"Rose!" the Elven God King growled again from the starry sky.
Hill, who had thought he was just a helpless rage, suddenly turned to the south.
In the direction of the Forest of the Elves, several demigod figures rushed out.
It seemed the Elven God King, having confirmed what he had bedded with, no longer cared about anyone or anything.
"What is that thing?" Fran said with a peculiar look.
The pendant spun in the air, its blue crystal radiating an evil black light, sweeping across the entire area.
However, Fran and Hill were entirely unperturbed.
A silver light soared into the sky, blocking the spread of the black light.
"If Rose had come, I would have to retreat, even flee without looking back," a lazy voice came from the second floor of the cloud ship, "But just a bit of Rose’s maid’s power is not enough to make me back down."
"Damn it!" a peculiar and seductive voice issued from the spider demon’s mouth.
"To be honest, I’ve heard of the Wax Melt Demon’s existence but this is my first time seeing one!" William slowly walked towards the deck, "May I see your true form, to disgust your predecessor?"
Karula let out a sharp laugh, her eight legs flexing in the air: "To us, our lord-given true form is the most beautiful and powerful existence, don’t use human thinking to speculate. Our lord’s preference is our pursuit! King of Saral! You are indeed here."
