Chapter 202: Chapter 36 The Beauty Trap Hill Couldn’t Look Straight At
Since Fran didn’t consider the spy from the Noble Temple to be of much importance, Adrian kept his head down in the laboratory, working on his box.
He had already told Hensley that he wanted to follow Miller’s Legend on a voyage to the deep sea and asked for Miller’s permission.
Miller’s Legend was always willing to do such favors with a mere gesture of his hand.
Moreover, the Deep Sea Demigods always liked to provide passage certificates to those they traded with. Since Adrian dared to go, he certainly had one.
Even for a legend, the deep sea was very dangerous, as sea monsters acted on a whim.
The same day he spoke with Hensley, Miller’s Legend contacted Adrian directly, granting him permission in a very friendly tone.
Adrian looked at the box in his hands and, following Hill’s advice, the more splendid the better, glittering with gold, bright in color, and the best if it could reflect light under the sun.
At this time, List also reported the matter to Hill, who was engrossed in making the box.
Hill sighed, but there was nothing more he could do; having done all he could and with a clear conscience, he decided not to meddle further.
Upon hearing List mention the person from the Noble Temple, Hill frowned.
Did the Noble Temple come here to deal with William? Hill didn’t think there was anything in his territory that would attract the attention of those in the Starry Sky.
Could it be that Fran was hiding other affairs?
Or were they after the Space Crystals in their possession?
After some thought, he instructed List to pay close attention to the security of the Purification Array. If there were any places near Saral where High-level Demons might appear, Hill actually suspected it would be in his own territory.
Now there were still few mages who had fallen, but eventually, they would realize that once turned into demons, they would advance a tier innately.
The concept of good and evil for mages was already very indifferent. Hill had no doubt that for the sake of advancement, many would embrace evil without hesitation.
Hill silently sighed. He suspected that William insisted on establishing the research association with Fran precisely to provoke an incident, thereby legitimately prohibiting all demon-related items from circulation.
And to handle those items, aside from the Temple, where else in the human world would be more suitable than Hill’s territory?
Why would most mages be willing to go to the Temple?
Probably considering these reasons, Fran had agreed to arrange for this matter to be handled by Hill.
As for who else the Noble Temple might send in the future, Hill didn’t care. He didn’t know what the Noble Temple had in mind.
Even if they could hide their Demonic Aura with some special method, at most they could be sent to William’s side or to provoke trouble within Saral’s territory.
But Hill wouldn’t forget that the Undead Tribe’s bodies were composed of the Divine Power of the God of Time and Space! What better identifier of friend or foe could there be?
Unless with no ill will, the Undead running rampant would definitely tell them what a red name warning meant.
Red name equaled monster, not just an adjective; its origin was associated with bloodshed and violence.
Hill thought that if he could think of these things, then the much more cunning William surely had them accounted for and there was no need for him to worry.
And in his own territory, unless a Legendary had fallen, Hill had nothing to fear.
On the day Adrian was to depart to meet with Miller’s Legend by the sea, the people from the Noble Temple arrived.
Hill straightforwardly sent away an apprehensive Adrian, assuring him that he would certainly not appear in town for the time being, and there was even less to worry about at his grandfather’s.
Hill let the people of Snow Cloud Peak take charge of receiving these foreign guests.
For the ill-intentioned visitors, Hill didn’t care how many strange looks they received.
When Hill went to Fran’s room, the Alchemist Master was also staring angrily out the window.
The dozen or so flamboyant Female Mages downstairs were the cause of Fran’s fury.
"Has the Noble Temple really no shame?" Fran asked in dismay, directly addressing the Noble Temple by its full name for the first time.
"Grandfather, you don’t need to mind them," said Hill, feeling indifferent, "Whatever their reason for coming, just let the Undead take care of them."
"Those few are probably for you," Fran pointed out several modestly dressed, young and pretty, innocently-looking Female Mages.
"But I don’t find them attractive?" Hill peered out of the window for a closer look, truly feeling nothing.
"You’re not interested in the infamous Cassel’s seductresses," Fran said coldly. "It’s obvious you also have no particular fondness for your kin, that Female Priest. The moment your Nature Warlock identity is revealed, I bet many will assume you only favor pure, innocent girls.
Your identity has probably been thoroughly researched. They know you haven’t had much contact with people, and you’re so young. There will always be some who think it’s worth a try, just in case they succeed!"
Hill really didn’t know what to say; it seemed people always believed that young men who hadn’t seen many women were especially susceptible to female seduction.
After some consideration, Hill thought that the beauty trap was something he might indeed be uncertain about if he didn’t have Natural Consciousness.
