Chapter 83: Confession

Medeia’s hands trembled as she touched Lucian’s chest and felt his heartbeat was getting faster. It turned out she wasn’t the only one who was overwhelmed by the kisses.

Lucian wasn’t the first man she’d kissed, but he was the first one who could make her heart and mind go crazy.

His kisses felt so gentle and warm, unlike the cold and rough ones she had experienced before.

Medeia immediately opened her eyelids to look directly into those emerald eyes. "No, I like it!" She bit her lower lip and whispered hesitantly. "But why ... Why did you kiss me?"

Lucian was momentarily stunned by her question. "Is that even a question?" he tilted his head, cradling her cheeks. "I kissed you because I like you, no ... it’s more than that."

Medeia’s heart skipped a beat, her breath caught in her throat as Lucian leaned closer, his emerald eyes filled with emotions she hadn’t dared to name.

"I kissed you," he continued, "because I adore you, Medeia. I love your smile, your laugh, even when you become something you don’t like."

"I have fallen in love with every part of you, and you have no idea how much it hurts me to hold back my feelings every time you sleep beside me." Lucian smiled, his fingers brushing her lips. "I’m not saying this to burden you. If you—"

"I’ve fallen with you, too!" Medeia opened her eyes wide, her heart racing as the words slipped from her lips before she even had a chance to think. "I’ve liked you since the first time we met! But ... but I was afraid that you wouldn’t like someone like me!"

That was the worst confession Medeia had ever heard, and ironically, it came from her own mouth.

What had she meant when she said that she had liked him since the first time they met?

Didn’t it sound like she had some kind of rescue romance syndrome?

Medeia felt the heat rise in her cheeks. She stared at Lucian, not knowing how to explain herself. Had she made things awkward?

But instead of worrying about what Medeia was afraid of, Lucian was more concerned about the last sentence that came out of her mouth. "What do you mean I won’t like someone like you? You’re perfect, Medeia."

If he continued to utter such words, Medeia might have a heart attack!

"Let’s get out of here." Lucian got up from the chair, holding Medeia’s hand so they wouldn’t get separated in the darkness.

"Lucian," Medeia pulled his hand and kissed him again. "This is the best day of my life."

Luckily Medeia had night vision or she wouldn’t have been able to capture such a beautiful smile on Lucian’s face.

How could someone be as perfect as him?
