Surviving the Apocalypse: All I Want Is to Find a Husband -
Chapter 44: Medeia’s Impulsive Thought
Chapter 44: Medeia’s Impulsive Thought
When Medeia stepped back into the room, she saw Lucian already lying on the thin mats, his jacket folded under his head like a pillow. Despite the discomfort, he looked completely at ease, as if sleeping on the hard floor was second nature to him.
Medeia tiptoed across the room, grabbed a spare blanket, and draped it over him. For a moment she watched his handsome face in the dim light.
How comfortable it would be if I could sleep in his arms ...
It was just a bold, impulsive idea, but it was enough to make her heart race.
Why not? It’s just for a moment ...
[Host, you can’t do something unholy to him.]
’What unholy?! I just want to lie down beside him, that’s all!’
The system didn’t interrupt her any more, so Medeia decided to lie down on the floor next to him, keeping a small distance between them. The floor was as hard as a rock, but Medeia found it more comfortable than a bed.
There was no wall or Bear between them, so she could clearly hear his soft breathing and feel his warm skin.
She looked at his face, ensuring that Lucian had fallen into a deep sleep.
Before she could stop herself, Medeia moved closer. Carefully, she slipped her arm around his and rested her head lightly on his shoulder.
His body was so warm that Medeia did not want to move away.
Just for another minute, she thought.
But another minute became another hour until Medeia accidentally fall asleep.
When the flame in the candle suddenly went out, Lucian opened his eyelids. His fingers gently tucked the stray hair behind her ear.
His soft voice echoed through the room, "Night night."

Medeia jumped out of bed as soon as she realized that she hadn’t woken up on the floor.
"What? How? Didn’t I sleep on the floor last night?" Medeia looked around the room, trying to find Lucian, but he wasn’t there anymore.
His neatly folded jacket and blanket lay on the table. Next to them was a bowl of warm soup with a note.
’Eat first before you go out.’
Medeia crouched down and ruffled her hair in frustration. She said to herself, "Stupid, you are so stupid!"
She had planned to wake up before Lucian, but why did she oversleep?!
Medeia really wanted to bury herself alive right now and then.
Lucian would probably think she was a creep for holding him all night, or worse, he would probably try to run away from her.
’My love life is over before it even begins.’

Medeia then checked on her status panel.

[CLOSE PANEL]
Her attributes had improved so much compared to when she first came to Arcion. No wonder her hands no longer hurt when she picked up a weapon.
But that wasn’t enough. She needed to become stronger and faster so she wouldn’t have to rely on Lucian every time she was in danger.
After checking her status panel, Medeia ate her breakfast and took a quick bath. There were many things she needed to do that day, but she was afraid to leave the room.
What should she do when she faced Lucian?
Should she apologize? Or pretend not to remember what happened last night?
She thought about all of that so much that she accidentally bumped into someone on her way out of the factory.
Medeia clicked her tongue. "Watch your—oh, Naomi!" She felt as if she had found her savior. "What are you doing here? Are you busy today?"
"Actually, I came to see you. It’s about the seed—"
Before Naomi could finish her words, Medeia had pulled her hands away. "All right, let’s talk about it while walking."
Naomi didn’t understand why Medeia seemed so happy to walk with her, but she followed her anyway.
Besides, it was nice to have another girl to talk to.
Naomi, "I planted all the seeds you gave me, so if we are going to build a new farm in the red canyon, I need the new packets of seeds."
Medeia groaned in her heart as she realized why the system was suddenly generous enough to give her so many gold coins.
It turned out that the system knew she would spend all the gold coins again to buy new seeds.
She knew the system was a psycho from the beginning!
No, she wouldn’t let the system toyed her that easily.
"Can we use the remaining plants instead of seeds?" asked Medeia.
Medeia had never grown vegetables in Hell, so she didn’t know anything about it.
"Well, we can wait for the plants to rot a bit and grow buds." Naomi said, "But it will take a week or two for the plants to rot."
It wasn’t efficient at all.
Besides, they would have extra people to feed at the base.
The pregnant women also needed a lot of nutrients from the vegetables, so they couldn’t wait that long.
"Can the plants rot faster if they are stored in a warmer place?" asked Medeia.
She had read that information in one of her romance novels.
"I’ve never done that, but yes! I think we can do that!" said Naomi excitedly.
Medeia, "Good. I’ll put the farms in your hands."
At first, Medeia only asked Naomi to activate the fertility stones, but she didn’t expect that Naomi would also take care of the farms.
It wasn’t a bad thing, but why would someone volunteer to do that without being asked?
Didn’t it count as a free labor?
Humans were definitely strange.
"That’s not a problem." Naomi stopped walking and said, "All right, I think I should go now."
Naomi wanted to leave, but Medeia held her arm when she saw Lucian and Harry near the well.
It looked like they were planning to harvest the plants and divide them for supplies in the village and at the base.
Medeia hoped Lucian wouldn’t see her, but Harry had crushed her hopes as soon as he spoke to her. "Oh, Medeia, are you going to fill the water supplies?"
Instead of answering his question, Medeia hid behind Naomi. "Naomi, I need you to stay with me today."
