Surviving the Apocalypse: All I Want Is to Find a Husband -
Chapter 38: Hot Spring (2)
Chapter 38: Hot Spring (2)
The sound of rippling water filled the air as Medeia leaned back against the edge of the hot spring. The warmth seeped into her muscles, washing away her fatigue.
On the other side, she could hear the faint splash as Lucian got into the water. They were so close, but couldn’t see each other because of the wall.
That damn wall.
Should she break it down so she could see Lucian’s muscles under his clothes?
Her thoughts scattered as she received the system message.
[Achievement (R-18 Edition) Unlocked: Bath with Lucian!]
[Reward: +500 XP, +200 C Points].
Medeia opened her mouth wide when she saw the reward.
She had gained even more points than killing a monster!
If just bathing together could get her that many points, how many points would she get if they had sex or did something kinky?
’If you tell me that such a thing exists, I will seduce Lucian from the beginning!’
[You can’t use your seduction power to lure him, Host.]
[Everything must come naturally, and he must do it willingly, not by force.]
[If Host forces him to do something bad, Host’s C-point will be set to zero.]
’What do you think I am? Of course I will never force him to have sex with me!’
’What about kissing? If I kiss him first, can I get rewards?’
[Host deserves a slap in the face and a C-point reduction to zero.]
’It’s just a kiss! Even babies kiss their mothers!’
[Remember Host, if you want pure love, you must also have a pure mind!]
Medeia rolled her eyes as the system began to sound like a granny.
"Is the water temperature comfortable there?" Lucian’s voice pushed her filthy thoughts away.
Medeia, "It’s fine, thank you."
There was a long silence between them, because they couldn’t find the right topic, or maybe because the situation was too uncomfortable for them.
"This is strange. I can’t talk to anyone without looking at their face." Medeia tried to find an excuse. "You know... maybe we can talk more if you get rid of the wall between us. I don’t mind seeing you naked."
Lucian laughed softly. "But I do mind seeing you without clothes," he continued, "I’m still a man, Medeia."
"Why? Does seeing me naked make you... hard?" Lucian made no sound, so Medeia spoke again, "Does the mere thought of me naked make you hard?"
Lucian cleared his throat. His voice sounded slightly trembling as he said, "Can we talk about something else, please?"
Medeia laughed at him. "Oh, don’t be shy. All men get bones when they see a beautiful woman like me naked."
"Where is the shy girl I just met?" she asked him.
Not long ago, she had been easily flustered and embarrassed whenever Lucian flirted with her. But that shyness suddenly evaporated like hot steam.
Medeia even questioned the same thing Lucian did in her mind. She wondered why she had felt shy before.
Her eyes shifted to the wall and she finally got her answer.
It looked like, as long as she didn’t see his face, her heart wouldn’t be so weak and fragile.
Luckily, Lucian didn’t know that.
Creak!
The wall between them suddenly moved down, and Medeia reflexively sank her body to her chin. "What are you doing?!"
She thought Lucian was truly going to remove the wall between them, but he stopped halfway. The only thing Medeia could see was Lucian’s face, smiling at her.
"I see," Lucian said, "You get shy when you face me."
Medeia sulked. Heat rose to her cheeks, but not from the hot spring. "What are you talking about? I could stand up right now if I wanted to!"
"Then go ahead." Lucian’s grin widened as he rested his arms on the lowered wall, completely at ease.
Medeia hesitated, sinking deeper into the water. "No ... the water feels too good, so I won’t get up."
Lucian chuckled. "Relax," he said, his voice softer now. "The wall stays where it is. I’m just teasing you."
"Good," Medeia muttered, though her lips formed a relieved smile.
Lucian tilted his head, his damp hair falling slightly over his forehead. For all his teasing, Medeia noticed that he hadn’t turned his head to her at all, hadn’t even glanced at her.
Was it even possible for a man to ignore a naked woman?
It was strange, but also nice to have a man who respected her so much.
To break the awkwardness between them, Medeia asked, "Do you think the villagers will agree to move to this place?"
"I think they will feel reluctant at first, but I don’t think they will oppose your idea either." Lucian said, "Because everyone adores you, even I adore you."
Medeia was taken aback by his last words. "How so? Aren’t I just your burden?"
"I never saw you as a burden, Medeia." He continued, "I see you as someone who reminds me of home."
Lucian had lived nomadically for many years. He never had a fixed abode and refused to stay in one place for long.
However, when Medeia asked him to stay longer in the village, he somehow couldn’t refuse her offer.
"It just ... you make me feel comfortable."
"Comfortable?" she repeated, her voice barely heard.
"I don’t know how to explain it, but being near you makes me feel ... safe. Like I don’t have to run all the time." He began to ramble, thinking that his words sounded strange. "I didn’t mean to make things awkward. I ... I just want you to know that."
What the hell was that?
Was that a confession?
Love confession?! Or just a friendship confession?!
Should she ask him? But why did her mouth suddenly feel numb!
Before she could say something, Lucian said, "I want to get out now and build tents for us." He raised the wall again, so Medeia couldn’t see him. "You can enjoy your bath."
Medeia slapped her mouth a few times and gathered her strength to open it. "I feel the same way you do!" She said, "So let’s stay together for a long time and become each other’s home."
Lucian kept quiet for a moment before he spoke in a gentle tone. "That sounds like a nice plan."
