Medeia let out a sigh of relief as her C-point was surpassed 500 again. That way, she didn’t have to worry about her dying because she used foul language.

"Why is the base so quiet?" wondered Matilda.

Medeia sharpened her ears, but she didn’t hear anything from the battlefield. There was no lighting or storm, the sky was so clear that the sunlight dazzled her eyes.

She lifted the corner of her mouth. "I guess we can spend another night here in peace."

Tilly snapped at her, "What do you mean we don’t have to leave soon?! The hunters will throw us to the bunker again if they catch us!"

"What hunter?" Medeia raised an eyebrow. "Do you see a hunter here? I don’t think so."

"W-what actually happened?" asked Penelope hesitantly.

Medeia didn’t answer her question and walked toward the front base. The women followed her around because they also wanted to know the situation in the base. But they immediately regretted their decision as they witnessed the grotesque in the front base.

The bodies of Stormclad hunters lay scattered across the rocky ground, their weapons had been destroyed into pieces. They used to act arrogant and mighty in front of the women, but now there were no more than lifeless bodies.

"This ... what is this?"

A woman vomited because the sight before her was too horrifying and disgusting at the same time. Another one decided to stay away, while others did not dare to see the bloody scene in front of them any longer.

But Medeia did the opposite. She walked through the field of bodies. The stench of blood menyebar in the air, but her focus remained at Lucian.

He was standing alone in the middle of ruins. Crimson red smeared across his face and arms.

Her gaze drifted past him to James. His hands and legs were bound tightly, pinned to the ground by Lucian’s telekinetic grip.

The mask on his face had come off, so Medeia could see half of his ruined face.

He writhed and cursed repeatedly. "I’ll kill you! I’ll fucking kill you like I killed your father!"

Lucian didn’t look angry or annoyed by his words. His eyes looked so cold and empty, as if he had lost all of his emotion.

"How? You can’t even touch me." The invisible power forced James to bow down. "You are pathetic, James."

The stormclad leader gritted his teeth because Lucian made him unable to open his mouth anymore.

Medeia slowed her pace as she approached him. "Lucian," she called softly and touched his shoulder from behind.

Lucian showed no emotion, but Medeia could see a hint of pain and misery on his face. He had suffered in silence for so long, and when he couldn’t hold it in any longer, the suffering turned to anger before it turned to numbness.

But as soon as Lucian saw Medeia, the light in his eyes returned again. The tension in his shoulders immediately dispersed when Medeia touched his cheek. She asked, "Are you alright?"

Lucian’s eyes widened as he was able to clear his mind. He dismissed her hand and turned his face away. "I’m sorry, you shouldn’t see me like this," he tried to wipe the blood from his face, but it wouldn’t go away because his hands were also stained with blood.

"Lucian," Medeia called his name, but Lucian was to scare to faced her.

Medeia realized the reason Lucian held back his abilities whenever she was around, probably not because he couldn’t control them, but because he was afraid of what she might think of him.

He was afraid Medeia would see him as a monster, a killing weapon that was able to take hundreds of lives.

However, it was only a 1% part of him.

The system might have trouble recognizing his skills, because Lucian’s abilities exceeded the system’s detection capabilities, but Medeia was sure it wasn’t miscounting his kindness points.

His one percent was destructive, but it didn’t change the fact that he was a kind, warm, and lovable man.

"I can’t stop ... I tried to stop, but I ... I can’t—"

Lucian lost his words once Medeia hugged him from behind. She put her head on his shoulder and whispered, "That’s okay." He wanted to get away from her, but Medeia hugged him tighter. "I’m not afraid of you, Lucian."

He paused for a moment, not knowing what to say. The only thing he did was hold Medeia’s hand for several minutes.

"No matter how bad I want to hug you longer, I think you need to take care of that half-dead man before he regains his strength." Medeia broke the silence. "And people are staring at us now."

Lucian lifted his head and looked at the many women standing in the distance. Some of them still felt queasy, but they couldn’t resist the urge to watch a drama between a couple.

"I’m sorry!" Lucian had finally regained his composure. He took a deep breath before turning around to face Medeia. "Are you really not afraid of me? I killed many people and I did a lot of bad things."

Medeia wanted to say ’so do I’, but she decided to answer with, "Not at all." She smiled. "Besides, those jerks deserve to die in a painful way."

Lucian lifted the corner of his mouth. He felt relief by her words. "What do you think I should do to him?"

James was the leader of Stormclad and killing him was equal to taking over the alliance.

However, Lucian and Medeia had killed so many Stormclad hunters and some of them had run away from the base.

They would build the alliance from scratch if they took it over. It sounded like hard work, but they could take over the springs in the canyon in return.

"I don’t think he has much use for us, so maybe ... kill him?"
