Surprise Marriage to a Billionaire -
Chapter 429: So Perfect
Chapter 429: So Perfect
Suddenly, the television shut off. It was Alexander who had turned it off.
"You shouldn’t watch the news. I don’t want you thinking about Carla at all. It won’t be good for our baby," Alexander said as he joined her on the bed, pulling her closer.
They were staying in a hotel within walking distance of her mother’s hospital. Rain wanted to stay and help relieve her father, who was still sleep-deprived from taking care of her mother.
They had been taking turns watching over her, and tomorrow it was her turn. Alexander refused to leave her alone, insisting on staying with her instead of returning with her father-in-law and Aunt Vernice the day before.
"I feel bad that we’re leaving everything to William," Rain murmured with a sigh. They should be handling things directly, especially when it came to Carla and Tim, but for now, everything had been left to William.
Alexander chuckled. "It’s fine. Carla is in a coma, so the trial will be delayed anyway. There’s no urgency for us to go back yet."
His grin widened as he added, "Besides, William is actually excited about it. He even said he’ll make sure everything is handled and that soon, we’ll see news of Tim getting caught. For now, all we need to do is stay here, take care of my mother-in-law, and monitor her recovery. And, of course, I need to stay to make sure my wife and our baby are well taken care of."
Rain chuckled and turned to face Alexander, who was holding her protectively. "You’re so clingy for someone who still has amnesia about me," she teased.
Alexander leaned in, kissing her nose before teasing back, "But I still fell head over heels for my wife in the end. I’m totally smitten and bewitched."
Rain narrowed her eyes playfully but then buried her face in Alexander’s neck. "Everything still feels like a dream, to be honest. When I found out I wasn’t Tim’s real daughter, I felt so relieved. And to be honest... I want to know who my real parents are. Since Kayla isn’t my real mother either, I have no idea where I came from. I’ve heard a lot of bad things about Kayla, but I don’t look down on her."
She paused before adding softly, "I really don’t expect anything from my real parents, but deep inside, I hope they’re people who would accept and love me... though I doubt it. If they truly wanted me, why did I end up being raised under Tim? Sometimes, I feel like I was just some abandoned baby in the hospital that Tim happened to take in..."
"But now we know the truth. Your parents are good people, and they definitely wanted you," Alexander said firmly. His voice darkened as he added, "But Tim practically kidnapped you and kept you hostage. That man will pay for what he’s done."
Rain could feel the anger radiating from him. She lifted her head to look at him, and there it was, the storm brewing in his darkened expression.
Without a word, she leaned in and kissed him.
The kiss deepened, and Rain could feel the raw need in him. It had been a while since they had been intimate, both too exhausted and busy with everything happening around them.
But tonight... tonight, she wanted him. Not just for the pleasure of it, but because she craved the connection, the way he made her feel completely his.
Shifting, she rolled on top of him. Alexander’s hands immediately found her bare hips, fingers sliding beneath the hem of her sleepwear, pushing it up. She pulled away from his lips, sitting up as she peeled the thin fabric over her head, revealing herself to him.
His gaze dropped to her stomach, and with a soft, reverent touch, he caressed her belly. His voice was warm, filled with quiet wonder.
"I can’t wait to see the bump in your belly... How come it’s still flat?"
Rain chuckled as he continued, smirking, "I think I should feed you more."
Rain laughed softly, leaning down to press a lingering kiss on his lips. "Are you saying I’m not eating enough?" she teased, her breath warm against his skin.
Alexander’s hands trailed up her sides, his touch both possessive and tender. "I’m saying our baby deserves a well-fed mother," he murmured, flipping them over in one swift movement. Rain gasped, finding herself beneath him, her body caged between his strong arms.
She gazed up at him, her heart pounding. His eyes were filled with hunger but not just for her body. There was something deeper, something raw and unspoken.
Alexander lowered his head, his lips brushing against her neck. "You have no idea how much I missed this," he whispered against her skin. His fingers traced slow, deliberate patterns over her exposed flesh, making her shiver.
Rain exhaled a shaky breath, threading her fingers through his hair. "Then show me," she dared, arching into him.
A deep growl rumbled from his chest as he obeyed, claiming her in the way only he could thoroughly, completely, as if proving to her, to the world, that she was his and always would be.
Tonight, there were no past ghosts, no looming threats... only the two of them, lost in the moment, tangled in love and passion.
As she lay in Alexander’s arms, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath her cheek, Rain let out a contented sigh. Everything in her life now felt so perfect that she could no longer ask for more.
She had a husband who adored her, a child growing within her, and a family that truly accepted her. The pain of the past, the loneliness, the uncertainty, felt like a distant memory.
But deep inside, she knew that happiness was fragile.
Her fingers lightly traced patterns over Alexander’s chest as she whispered to herself, ’I will do anything to keep this... to protect what’s mine.’
No matter what challenges lay ahead, Rain was ready. She would fight for her family, for their peace, for the life she had finally built.
And nothing... no one... would take it away from her.
