Chapter 423 - 423 2 Midnight Snack Rhapsody Part 2_2
423: Chapter 2: Midnight Snack Rhapsody (Part 2)_2 423: Chapter 2: Midnight Snack Rhapsody (Part 2)_2 It was already very embarrassing!
With anxious hearts, the two watched Mr.
Gongsun’s pocket watch.
Time ticked by, and to dispel the boss’s suspicions, they had to order two more plates of sushi, pushing the price over the 4000 mark.
Nine minutes later, Mr.
Gongsun set down his chopsticks.
“Go ahead, Ling.”
“So, this is the only way, huh…”
Shiyu Ling’s voice was full of realization, her movements bearing the desolation of a defeated combatant as she prepared to stand up from her chair…
just then!
“Hey, someone’s coming!” Shiyu Ling whispered excitedly.
A shadow appeared at the entrance of Big Belly Hall—a new guest was arriving!
Both of their eyes lit up; this would finally solve everything perfectly.
The shadow approached the door, and from its outline, it seemed to be a burly figure.
Shiyu Ling nudged her partner with her elbow: “Do you have the confidence to ask a sumo wrestler for a loan?”
The young man with gray hair scoffed: “Don’t underestimate Mr.
Gongsun’s social skills.
I can strike up a conversation with the familiarity of five years, even if I’ve only met them five minutes ago.”
“You’re so proud even though you’re just a chatterbox.”
“Being good at chatting is also a special skill, okay.”
With a relaxed attitude as if the crisis had been averted, the two chatted cheerfully.
They both looked towards the sushi restaurant’s main entrance, and the new guest finally came in.
And indeed, it was a massive guest!
He entered, filling the especially wide door of the sushi restaurant to the brim as if squeezing through; his steps made the small shop seem like it was trembling, and his movements stirred a breeze inside.
He had messy hair and a face full of scars, his piercing gaze as sharp as a blade—it was clear he was no ordinary person.
…Somehow, this person looked a bit familiar.
Mr.
Gongsun became increasingly convinced he had seen this burly man before, he looked very much like…
(Isn’t this Crush-san!!)
(What a joke!!!)
The two agents wailed in their hearts.
A man dressed in black and white who followed behind the giant only highlighted the cruel truth.
This unlucky fellow with his right arm in a cast was indeed Crush-san, no doubt attracted firepower to himself until he was nearly crippled!
“Angry…”
Noticing the two’s twisted expressions, the huge ninja turned his face towards them.
In desperation, Mr.
Gongsun raised a hand and bowed slightly: “domo!”
“…domo.” Crush’s deep voice resonated through the restaurant.
He pressed his hands together, returning the greeting with a simple bow.
Then, the giant ninja, along with a partner who seemed hesitant to speak, walked to the opposite side of the U-shaped table.
The owner was busy bringing out a special chair from the storage.
“Long time no see, Mr.
Goro!” The owner laughed familiarly, his expression much more relaxed than when he faced Mr.
Gongsun and the others, clearly relaxed in the presence of an acquaintance.
“The usual today?”
“Yes.”
“A special large and a medium portion, please!” Crush smiled as he ordered for his boss.
The giant ninja sat silently in the chair, resting with his eyes closed.
Crush gave a sheepish smile towards the two across him, without saying much more.
Unlike the ninjas, the two agents started conversing quickly using paper and pen.
“Come on, show off your ability to chat up the wrestler.”
“What are you talking about?
This would be a tough challenge even for a foreign minister that could go in memoirs!”
“But aren’t all of you Silent Phase Mages?”
“Be reasonable, look at that intimidating aura!
I wasn’t even this introverted as a kid.”
“Nonsense, you were much worse as a kid.”
Should they really ask the giant ninja for money?
No matter what, this was a challenge facing a superior!
Mr.
Gongsun pondered how to start the conversation; using the previous fight as a topic seemed like picking a fight…
and speaking about the recent Dragon Disaster was too grave of a topic…
What should he say?
While debating, he saw the owner walking out of the kitchen with a peculiar dish in hand.
The dish captured Mr.
Gongsun’s attention, making him, who was already half full, ask subconsciously: “What’s that?”
What the owner brought out was an overwhelmingly appealing dish both in size and quality.
Because of the large amount of food, the container had to be switched from a bowl to a wooden basin; a glance from the side would immediately draw attention to the vibrant colors of the dish: a third of the wooden basin was occupied with colorful sashimi and crab meat; another third was a duo of grilled eel and beef; and the final part was…
oh!
Covered with a special sauce freshly poured over tempura—oh the aroma!
Why order a rice bowl in a sushi restaurant?
That no longer mattered.
The unconscious swallow of saliva revealed the young man’s true feelings at the moment—this thing… looked super delicious!
The owner hurried back into the kitchen, seemingly not hearing his question.
Crush explained with a smile: “This is the owner’s special rice bowl, actually quite troublesome to make, hence not on the menu.”
“I see.” Mr.
Gongsun nodded slightly.
He eyed his partner from the corner of his eye, gauging from the subtle changes in expression that a certain hunter was also quite interested.
But how should they eat this?
If it was to be divided into three parts, was it supposed to be eaten like a combination meal separately?
While thinking this, they saw the giant man pick up a special spoon.
Thud!
The large spoon came down, stirring up the contents in the basin.
Whether it was the sashimi, the eel, or the tempura, everything was ruthlessly diced and mixed together!
