Chapter 71: Two Headed Anaconda
Chapter 71: Two Headed Anaconda
"Please! Spare me!"
The young man thrashed, his voice cracking with desperation. Like a pig at the butcher’s block, his fate was already sealed.
Hmph! Dawn only coldly snorted.
His irises burned with an orange glow. A sharp hum cut through the air—then, like a god passing judgment, twin crimson lances erupted from his gaze.
Immediately, a headless body fell to the ground, its limbs twitching for a few seconds before turning into a stream of particles flying into the distance.
...
Dawn turned his gaze to the last survivor. The man flinched, knees buckling under the weight of Dawn’s stare.
"Do you want to live?"
A frantic nod—too fast, too eager.
"Good. Then pick up the crystals."
Dawn’s voice was casual, almost lazy, but there was an edge beneath it. A sick kind of amusement flickered in his eyes.
He was too lazy to pick up the crystals from the ground. Feeling slightly generous, he decided to let the man atone for his sins.
Dawn’s eyes flashed with strangeness. Under the weight of Dawn’s gaze, the man shakily moved all over the place and picked up the crystals lying on the ground one by one.
Finally, after a few minutes, the poor guy gathered all the crystals and walked closer to Dawn.
"Here are all your crystals. I have done what you told me to do... can I go now?"
The look in Dawn’s eyes didn’t change; he just gestured to the man to leave.
Immediately, the man started to retreat with an overjoyed expression.
The moment he turned his back, two searing red lines sliced through the air.
For a second, the man stood frozen—his body still catching up to death.
Then, with a sickening wet sound, his torso slid apart.
"I am no saint or godly being, so my friend, never expect forgiveness from me."
Dawn silently uttered while transferring over fifty crystals to his secret base.
"Jack, neatly arrange all these crystals."
"On it, boss."
Inside the ’Great Universe is within,’ Jack was meditating quietly. Once he heard Dawn’s command, he immediately got to work.
For now, his sole job was to manage the interior of the secret base without asking any questions.
Dawn glanced around with narrowed eyes.
Once he killed the last of his attackers, he felt as if he had become the center of attention; numerous gazes from who knew where converged on his figure.
It appeared numerous people were watching his every move from the shadows.
Hmmmph!
He only coldly snorted and began to ascend upward.
"Just you wait... Flowing Swamp organization..."
With that, he didn’t linger around any longer. A brilliant crimson flame ignited behind his back, accelerating him; in the next moment, Dawn’s figure completely disappeared.
.....
As soon as Dawn disappeared, a figure cloaked in purple energy and radiating a slightly chaotic aura walked out from a shadowy alley; the figure’s facial features were covered with a bull mask.
"How many days has it been, to grow to such an extent? His class must be unique..."
"What a big surprise... Red Caped Demon, not bad."
"I will have to quickly report to the nearest branch."
The bull-masked figure soon disappeared from the alley.
.....
"Let’s go..." Jasmine turned her head away and started to move.
Mira also sighed with relief. Some days ago, when the news of the reward declared by the Flowing Swamp leaders’ organization had started to spread, she had gotten anxious and worried about Dawn’s safety.
Thankfully for her, Dawn had left the battlefield; however, just as she was about to relax, the news of his reappearance caught her off guard.
Just as she was feeling slightly lost, a cold and piercing voice came from ahead.
"Do you really think he needs our help...?"
"If he continues to grow at this speed, you might not even be able..."
Hearing the cold but frank voice, Mira’s large almond-shaped eyes shook; her heart was in turmoil. Unconsciously, she bit on her lips to calm her emotions.
.....
The Flowing Swamp organization leader watched Dawn receding with a slightly ugly face.
Dawn’s performance today had greatly exceeded his expectations.
Especially his sword moves—even though he was watching from the distance, there was something about them that made him stand in fear.
Suddenly, a decisive light flashed in his eyes.
"No, I can’t wait for him to get stronger..."
The leader had a feeling: if he didn’t take any action now, it would be too late.
Maybe he still hadn’t realized it, but it was already too late.
.....
Cold howling wind hit his face like a storm wanting to tear him to shreds.
Dawn’s eyes were completely indifferent with no guilt or remorse in them, as if he was numb to the violence and bloodshed.
Fifteen minutes later, Dawn arrived at the Two-Headed Anaconda area lying to the east of Poisonous Swamp station.
"Two-Headed Anaconda Area... This is my first time fighting them."
Surveying the poisonous swamp bubbling like hot soup and the faintly dangerous aura ahead, Dawn tightened his grip on the Original Wind Sword.
Two-headed anacondas were fierce monsters blessed with Divine strength. With extremely large size, it wasn’t hard to spot twenty-meter-long two-headed anacondas in this area.
The weakest of these monsters was said to be at the Beginner Silver Rank while the adults were mostly at the Peak Gold rank.
It wasn’t like there weren’t any other monsters in this region; in fact, there were more than two hundred different types of abyssal monsters in this region. However, none could compete with these titanic anacondas.
The region was a death trap, but Dawn had no choice.
If he wanted to survive the battles ahead, his Suit of Righteousness and Eternal Valor had to evolve—no matter how much blood it cost.
As from what he had heard from Jack, two-headed anacondas dropped a defensive skill when dying; however, the chances were less than one percent.
This meant Dawn had to kill more than a hundred two-headed anacondas for him to get his hands on the skill.
Dawn was determined to succeed today. No matter what, he was going to level up his defensive skill.
The enemies that he faced were getting stronger and stronger; he wouldn’t feel safe if his protective skill remained at level one.
