Chapter 59: On the radar of a mysterious Entity
"What do you mean..."
Jake spoke with a tight frown on his face. Just a moment ago, out of nowhere, the demonic being that he was most wary of had suddenly appeared, catching him by surprise.
Although fearful of Dawn’s sudden appearance, strangely his heart was also filled with a tiny bit of hope.
Jack’s condition was getting miserable with each passing moment, his face pale, resembling the bark of an old tree.
Since appearing in this dreadful place, he hadn’t met or interacted with anyone.
Almost every moment, Jack sat curled against the cold, unforgiving walls, his breath shallow and ragged.
The silence attacked at him. Not even the sound of insects, not a single whisper of life—just the suffocating void pressing down on him.
His fingers dug into his own arms, nails scraping his skin, as if the pain would remind him he was still real.
No. He wasn’t real. He was a ghost trapped in this abyssal nightmare.
Then, like a demon stepping out of the void itself—Dawn appeared.
And the first words he spoke?
"How would you like to die?"
Jack slightly shifted his eyes and examined Dawn’s slightly damaged suit.
’Don’t tell me the leader attacked him... but how did he manage to survive?’
When his line of thought reached this point, Jack felt the chill in his heart deepen.
The foggy walls of the ’Great Universe’ pulsed as if laughing at Jack’s misfortune.
Jack looked at this scene and gritted his teeth. Ever since becoming the vice leader of the Flowing Swamp organization, he had been treated like a king.
So such a situation was very difficult for him to accept.
Dawn’s eyes were slightly dazed; he didn’t pay attention to Jack in front of him.
His focus was on the bunch of windows that had appeared in front of him like an avalanche.
[Myth Resonance Detected.]
[Brave warrior, Your myth shakes the Poisonous Swamp station, the station is now enveloped by your myth.]
[However, your Myth is still too weak—The Abyss does not recognize your dominion.]
[Brave warrior, because you failed to kill your opponent in a single hit, your myth is greatly affected and slightly diminished.]
[Warning! Please be careful in future actions as repeated actions that don’t align with your Mythical glory may result in the end of your path.]
[Under the influence of your Myth, the Awakeners’ ability to kill monsters in a single attack had increased by +0.000012%]
Dawn’s eyes almost narrowed to two slits while reading the notification. Saying that he wasn’t shocked would be an understatement.
Each and every single one of these notifications had sent large waves through his heart.
He didn’t care whether his myth affected the Awakeners, but the fact that his future path might be cut off filled his heart with dread.
Once his thoughts calmed down, Dawn internally mused, "It appears I will have to kill all of my future opponents in a single attack."
Dawn’s surprise and confusion were understandable; after all, he didn’t know much about how these myths worked.
It was the same as expecting a toddler to understand advanced calculus when he didn’t even know basic mathematics.
After a moment, Dawn made a mental note to investigate these so-called Myths in the future.
Because of his ignorance, he might do something that he would regret all his life.
Jack watched the dazed Dawn in front of him nervously, not daring to breathe too loudly.
After thinking for a moment, he had come to a chilling realization: his fate was in the hands of this Demonic being.
Until his soul Power ran out, he had to do everything that he could to please the man in front of him.
Clarity finally returned to Dawn’s eyes, his piercing eyes shifted to focus on Jack.
"Did you truly not understand what I just said, or are you purposefully wasting my time?"
Dawn said with a small smile on his face.
Although Jack couldn’t see the smile on Dawn’s face, the sight of those pale blue eyes seemed to shake his soul in fear.
Gulp! Unconsciously he swallowed his saliva and wailed in his heart. Fucking hell! What sins have I committed to deserve this?
Jack wanted to respond to Dawn’s question but no words came out of his mouth, as if he had lost the ability to speak.
Witnessing Jack’s muted response, the coldness in Dawn’s eyes increased several fold.
"I see... so you don’t want to live anym—"
Just as Dawn was about to announce Jack’s death sentence, the poor guy’s body shook like a leaf and he shakingly spoke.
"I want to live, please spare me... I will do anything you want."
Immediately after those words, the coldness in Dawn’s eyes slightly lessened. Jack noticed this change and sighed in relief, but he still didn’t dare to let his guard down.
Jack was even more careful than before.
"Good. Now tell me everything that you know about the Flowing Swamp organization and the Poisonous Swamp station."
Dawn asked in a plain tone.
Jack didn’t dare to hesitate and hurriedly nodded his head after Dawn finished speaking.
"Thank you for showing mercy..."
"I will tell you everything that I know."
...
Outside the Poisonous Swamp station.
Far beyond mortal perception, nestled between dimensions, a sleeping colossus stirred.
Two vertical eyes—vast as mountains—snapped open, piercing the fabric of reality itself.
For the first time in eons, fear gripped the ancient entity.
"A Mythical Warrior...? Here?" The thought echoed like a dying star’s final whisper.
The skies trembled. The air warped in terror. Even the world seemed to hold its breath.
"It appears this place is also not safe at all."
In the next moment, these eyes seemed to shift directly and looked in the direction of the Poisonous Swamp station.
Just with a glance, the misty haze filling the air parted, revealing a clear view of the station.
Then, as if a veil had been pulled over existence itself—the presence was gone.
"Strange. Why did the aura vanish... could it be a Mythical warrior was just passing by?"
...
Dawn wasn’t aware his actions had attracted the attention of a mysterious entity; even if he knew, he wouldn’t have cared.
After all, such an entity was beyond his understanding.
After a heartwarming chat with Jack, he returned back to reality and digested all the information provided by him.
His emotions had greatly calmed down after returning to reality. Dawn felt as if he was a different person altogether.
He wondered why? Could it be..?
Dawn raised his hand to look at the abyssal mark with a mysterious look in his eyes.
Under his gaze, the numerous runic markings seemed to pulse in a rhythmic fashion.
He felt the mark was somehow responsible for his charged performance in the Eternal battlefield.
