Chapter 56: Dangerous situation

The dark hallway of the hotel room was lit up by flashes of multicolored light flying into the distance.

With a tinkling sound, many crystals fell to the ground one after the other.

The hall had fallen completely silent; all fifty-plus Flowing Swamp Awakeners were sent to the shadow realm by Dawn.

Huff!

Dawn gasped for air, his lungs burning, his arms heavy as lead. His body screamed in protest, but he forced himself to stand tall.

"Damn it..." He wiped the blood off his lips, spitting to the side.

"So fucking tiring..."

Even as a Silver-ranker, cutting through fifty enemies alone had drained him. He wasn’t weak, but he wasn’t strong enough either.

Although the battle had been a short one, it allowed him to understand his own abilities a bit better.

Because he didn’t have any skill for crowd control, Dawn had to use Nine Abyss Nascent Laser Eyes many times in succession, putting his soul under heavy pressure.

But using Nine Abyss Nascent Laser Eyes on these people was like using a hammer to smash an ant to death.

Dawn clenched his fists, frustration simmering beneath the surface.

He was strong, but not strong enough. Fifty Iron rankers shouldn’t have pushed him this hard. Not if he wanted to survive in this place.

His skills were too direct, too singular. He needed versatility—he needed control.

No more wasted energy. No more drawn-out fights. Next time, they would die in an instant

This only meant he wasn’t strong enough. If he was, no matter how large the number of his enemies, all of them would have died in the blink of an eye.

Dawn didn’t want a situation like this to happen ever again.

While Dawn was analyzing the battle in his head, the managers and the other guests didn’t dare to breathe loudly.

The bloodshed they had just witnessed was too bone-chilling and horrifying.

...

Andrew and the leader of Flowing Swamp organization were just about to enter the hotel when the leader’s face suddenly contorted in rage.

"How dare he..."

Before Andrew could react, the leader vanished—a golden blur ripping through space itself.

A gust of wind slammed into him a moment later, his hairs whipping violently as the pressure in the air skyrocketed.

Following this, Andrew also felt the disturbance in the air, and his face changed; the unease that he was feeling suddenly multiplied many-fold.

"Could it be..." Suddenly an ominous thought popped up in Andrew’s head; however, he immediately shook his head and didn’t dare to continue thinking.

There was no way a newbie who had arrived in the Eternal battlefield a few days ago could threaten the life of a proud Gold ranker, could he?

Such a thing was almost impossible.

The gap between an Iron ranker and Silver ranker was huge, but the gap between a Silver ranker and Gold was insurmountable!

.....

Some distance away from the hotel raided by the Flowing Swamp organization, on a rooftop, stood Kane Hemsworth and Mrs. Jenkins.

Dressed in a flowing white gown that hugged her body tightly, she looked very mesmerizing.

Mrs. Jenkins peered into the distance with a slightly dazed look in her eyes.

Her gaze seemed to cross the distance of hundreds upon hundreds of meters, and the scene from inside the hotel appeared on her retina, like a movie playing in a cinema hall.

With just one look, Mrs. Jenkins’ heart shook as if thousands of horses were galloping at the same time; the scene inside the hotel hallway was too brutal.

Flowers of death bloomed and rivers of blood flowed wantonly, dyeing the hallway red.

....!

Red-Caped Demon, what an apt name—he was truly brutal.

Beside her, Kane Hemsworth stood with a slightly tensed expression.

During these past few days, Kane had shown extraordinary nature; unlike those arrogant Awakeners who managed to get class, he didn’t immediately rush to fight the monsters but patiently absorbed all the knowledge that he could get his hands on.

This allowed him to better understand the inner workings of the settlement.

Just at that time, Mrs. Jenkins’ eyes narrowed, as the situation inside suddenly changed.

"Tch! This bastard finally took action. I guess this is how this farce is gonna end."

.....

Dawn’s eyes suddenly twitched; a strong sense of danger suddenly enveloped his heart.

"Huh?"

Before he could understand where the strong feeling of danger was coming from, suddenly a voice filled with boundless rage echoed in the surroundings.

"You puny insects, what gave you the guts?"

The air suddenly vibrated, and a golden blur moving at unimaginable speed suddenly appeared in the room.

Dawn’s heart immediately chilled, and the next moment the air around him froze.

By the time Dawn realized something was amiss, a man dressed in golden armor had already appeared behind him.

"Leader of Flowing Swamp organization." A name appeared in Dawn’s mind.

Without uttering a single word of nonsense, the Flowing Swamp organization leader’s fist came crashing down like a meteor.

The terrifying force exploded upon contact with Dawn’s body.

The bones seemed to cry out under the unbearable load, nearly shattering.

Dawn’s face turned ugly; the amount of force generated by the impact vastly exceeded his suit’s limits, His ribs screamed in agony as the force nearly shattered them, his body folding around the impact before being launched like a bullet.

Walls blurred past as he crashed through the air, the world spinning

Ripping flesh asunder, splashing blood everywhere!

After one last forceful smash against the wall, his body finally halted.

"What gave you the courage to lay a hand on my men?"

A wrathful voice emanated from the Leader of Flowing Swamp organization.

The fatty manager inside the hotel was terrified, silent as a cicada in winter, a chill enveloping his entire body.

"Cough, cough..."

From within the broken debris, Dawn staggered to his feet. Half his suit was torn open and soaked in blood, with blood pearls continuously dripping, dyeing the ground red.

For the first time since his birth, Dawn had been injured.

However, Dawn’s eyes were devoid of emotions as if it wasn’t his own body in this miserable state.

After his fight with the Nether Wraiths king, Dawn didn’t really fear Gold rankers, but only now did he realize just how stupid he had been.

He won against the Nether Wraiths king because of Nine Abyss Nascent Laser Eyes, this skill was the nemesis of beings like Nether Wraiths.

With the eyes of a silent spectator, Dawn scanned the figure of the Flowing Swamp organization leader.

There was no need for him to say anything.

So what if he wasn’t the Flowing Swamp organization leader’s match today?

Dawn admitted his own weakness; he might have lost the battle today, but the outcome of the war was still undecided.
