Superhero Class: Finding Meaning of Life in another world -
Chapter 52: Silver Rank
Chapter 52: Silver Rank
The room was filled with a misty atmosphere; droplets of liquid mana condensed together and fell to the ground like dewdrops, filling the room with an ethereal air.
In the center of the room, a white egg-like object was silently placed.
The mana present in the room stirred as if stimulated by an invisible gust of wind.
A suffocating pressure descended, causing the air present in the room to howl.
Crack!
A thin fracture formed on the surface of the egg-like cocoon, light escaping through its twisted lines.
A second crack followed, then another, until a fine network of glowing fissures spread across the smooth shell.
Then—
BOOM!
The shell collapsed in an explosion of shimmering fragments, dissolving into raw mana before they could hit the ground.
In the center stood Dawn.
His body was curled up, drenched in residual energy, steam rising from his skin like mist over a battlefield.
The Suit of Righteousness and Eternal Valor covering his body had disappeared at some point; he was now completely naked.
Even though there were no obvious sources of light present in the room, Dawn’s body emitted a silvery light; he was as dazzling as the moon.
With a dazed look in his eyes, Dawn pushed the remaining eggshells and walked out.
Crash!
Just with a slight touch, the eggshells which seemed to be made of steel crumbled and fell to the ground like glass.
With another step that he took, light flashed and the Suit of Righteousness and Eternal Valor once again appeared like a loyal bodyguard and quickly covered his body.
Dawn clenched and unclenched his fist; immediately the loud popping sound of two pieces of solid iron sliding against each other filled the room.
Boundless surging strength that he had never felt in his life seemed to be flowing through his veins like a torrential river. Dawn had a feeling if he were to fight with the Nether Wraith king now, the poor thing might not be able to take even one of his punches.
"This is it? That’s what I want." Dawn grinned; he seemed to have understood what he was going to pursue in the future.
After achieving breakthrough, Dawn felt a joy that he had never experienced in his two lifetimes.
His heart was filled with unbound joy; the feeling was just indescribable.
As if responding to his thoughts, the fiery red cape around him fluttered wildly in excitement, the violent fluttering raising the temperature in the room by a few degrees.
Noticing the fiery temperatures, Dawn brought his hands closer to examine the suit closely.
"Such intricate designs of runic patterns!"
Even though his class skill, Suit of Righteousness and Eternal Valor, hadn’t leveled up, he could easily notice some obvious changes in his suit.
Faint flickering runes came to form mysterious patterns that seemed to have no inherent meaning of their own, but when joined with other patterns, they seemed to bring about a completely brand new meaning of force, something that seemed to have never existed in the past.
Dawn’s understanding of these patterns was low, so he wasn’t exactly sure what they entailed.
Well, if he had attended some prestigious school like Flying Sword Royal Academy before entering the Eternal Battlefield, the situation might have been slightly different.
Anyway...
Dawn ignored the changes for now, but he made a mental note to study them in the future.
Just as he was musing, he heard a voice coming from the ’Great Universe is Within.’
"Please let me out! The Flowing Swamp Headmaster must be looking for me desperately. Please, let me out now; we can talk things out before they turn even more messy..."
Hearing the tone, Dawn coldly snorted and ignored the voice for the time being.
Now it was time to return to reality.
At this thought, a relaxed smile appeared on his face.
Slowly, in no time, his body started to disappear.
...
The crooked man from the Flowing Swamp organization looked at the pulsing foggy walls with a dark look in his eyes and muttered, "Could it be I was wrong?"
Just as the crooked man thought he was dead under the filthy midget’s attack, he suddenly appeared in this strange place with nothing but pulsating fogs surrounding him from all sides.
The crooked man’s name was Jack; he was one of the vice heads of the Flowing Swamp organization.
Never in his life had Jack imagined he would encounter such a situation while bullying a noob.
"That masked guy is very weird..." Jack muttered with a solemn look.
Just as in the few moments before his death, he felt as if his opponent was not human but a cold demonic monster who had killed countless living beings; those cold and uncaring blue eyes sent a chill running down his spine.
Not even the leader of the Flowing Swamp organization could make him feel this way.
Suddenly, just as he was walking on the foggy floor, Jack’s feet seemed to have landed on something familiar.
"A stats crystal..." Jack muttered in an unsure tone; however, just as he was about to crouch down, he suddenly stopped and acted naturally as if he hadn’t noticed the stats crystal at all. He slowly lifted his foot and walked away while muttering something incomprehensible.
Jack had a very keen feeling in his heart; this place or this prison had something to do with that midget.
From time to time, he even felt as if someone was spying upon him, watching his every move.
...
"This guy is better than I expected," Dawn commented while turning his gaze away from the Great Universe is Within, where Jack was walking sulkily.
Dawn didn’t directly kill this guy because he had some different plans for him.
Some very interesting plans!
After which he got up from his meditative position and prepared to walk out of the room.
Creek!
Just at this time, the gate of the room creaked open and Fiona walked inside.
"Young master, have you decided what you are going to wear for the welcoming ceremony?"
Dawn didn’t respond to her words but walked towards the window of his room to take a look outside.
Immediately a cold, almost biting gust of wind hit his face.
His expression, however, didn’t change, his eyes scanning the paved stone walkway covered with a golden carpet.
Servants of the family carrying large heavy objects in their hands moved to and fro with a look of solemnity on their faces.
The preparation for the welcoming ceremony was in full swing as the Envoy from the Empire could arrive anytime.
After taking a look, Dawn turned his gaze forty-five degrees and muttered,
"Why is the temperature starting to drop suddenly?"
Dawn’s fingers tightened around the windowsill as a chill ran down his spine.
Something was coming.
The sky, once a twisted mess, now carried an unnatural weight, as if the heavens themselves were holding their breath.
A cold gust of wind swept through the courtyard, but it wasn’t the cold that unsettled him.
It was the silence that followed.
No birds. No distant chatter. Nothing but the whisper of the wind, carrying an unseen omen.
Dawn exhaled slowly, his grip loosening. He didn’t know what was coming.
But he knew it was meant for him.
