Chapter 45: So what if I tried to control you
Chapter 45: So what if I tried to control you
"Yeah, I tried to control you, but so what..."
Jasmine’s face was stone cold; she said those words while directly looking into his piercing blue eyes.
At such a close distance, Dawn could even hear her heartbeat, however, he was too stunned to say anything.
The cold wind blew gently, caressing the blood-soaked walls of the cavern.
A strange silence suddenly seemed to envelop the surroundings.
Dawn looked at the girl in front of him with an intense look in his eyes.
Jasmine’s messy silver hair lightly fluttered; her cold and almost emotionless eyes remained completely calm.
For a moment, Dawn doubted if he heard correctly. Jasmine was completely unapologetic about her actions and didn’t seem to care about his opinion at all.
Suddenly, he felt slight anger rising in his heart; he couldn’t stop himself from laughing out loud.
"Hahahaha... you are asking me ’so what?’"
"Do you really think I would not kill you?"
After saying those words, he looked deeply into her eyes.
The air around them suddenly seemed to stagnate and freeze.
Even with the intense pressure and the strong sense of bloodlust she felt, Jasmine’s eyes showed no ripple.
Just at this time, Jasmine turned her eyes away and said in an indifferent tone, "Mr. Red Caped-Demon, although you have saved us today, let me remind you if it weren’t for my Unity Awakeners Alliance members working day and night to keep the Nether Wraiths in check..."
After saying these words, she paused and picked up Mira Silverfire from the ground. After throwing Mira’s body over her shoulder, she continued.
"...It was only because of my alliance that you were able to grow stronger and defeat this Nether Wraith king today."
After saying these words, she fell silent and started to walk away in the distance.
Dawn watched her figure slowly moving away with coldness in his eyes; he was once again left speechless by this woman’s logic.
The way Jasmine completely ignored his question didn’t sit well with him. He coldly snorted and spoke in a dangerous tone, "Ms. Jasmine, did I allow you to leave?"
His cold and ruthless words seemed to have fallen on deaf ears, as Jasmine didn’t react and continued walking ahead.
"This is my last warning..."
Just as Dawn was about to continue speaking, his eyes suddenly widened in realization.
Without hesitating, in the next moment, his eyes lit up with a fiery red-orange glow.
And two beams of light were blasted into the distance.
The Nine Abyss Nascent Laser Eyes seemed to travel at light speed and hit the walls of the cavern.
"Boom!"
A loud shockwave erupted, and the walls which the laser hit immediately crumbled into many pieces.
"Fuck..." Dawn cursed under his breath as he watched the smoke come out of the hole blasted by laser eyes.
The figures of Jasmine and Mira were gone; they seemed to have suddenly disappeared into thin air as if the void itself had swallowed them.
*Sigh!* With Jasmine’s disappearance, he understood everything.
Why Jasmine had allowed Mira to escape alone while she faced the Nether Wraith king alone.
If no accidents happened, both of them would have returned to reality as long as they held on for some time.
Once the spiritual power ran out, they would return to reality.
Perfect plan indeed, but the world rarely cares about one’s plan. Jasmine underestimated the Nether Wraith king’s strength and was bound to suffer.
’Anyways.’
Dawn slowly floated towards the place where Jasmine stood a moment ago, his eyes landing on the two stone pouches lying on the ground.
These two pouches were the only evidence of the women’s existence.
Dawn sighed once again and picked up the two pouches from the ground with little to no expectations in his heart.
Given how she had already planned her escape, if there was anything of value, she would have already used it.
Dawn shook the pouch, and a couple of stat crystals fell out of it.
[Iron Rank Soul Power Crystal x13]
He seriously counted and found another ten Silver grade stat crystals; they were somewhat of use to him.
So without hesitating, he thought about placing all of them inside the ’Great Universe is Within,’ and all the crystals in his hand immediately disappeared.
’Neat.’
...
Sometime after Dawn left the battleground, a figure wearing a mysterious mask on his face appeared.
If someone from Unity Awakeners Alliance was here, they would have instantly recognized this guy; this was none other than the Plunderer known as Purple Demon hunting humans in the Nether colony.
Purple Demon’s eyes flashed with a strange color, and he muttered, "Requiem of time."
Immediately following his words, the entire cavern lit up with a purplish light; the glow seemed to have a will of its own as it strangely moved.
Slowly, all the particles gathered in the hand of Purple Demon in the form of an orb. If you looked closely, the orb seemed to be like a television screen displaying the scene of Dawn’s battle with the Nether Wraith king.
Purple Demon gazed at the scene playing about and let out a snicker, "What a marvelous Red Caped-Demon."
After saying those words, he gently placed the orb in his chest pocket and started to move before disappearing into the distance.
His direction was the same in which Dawn had moved some time ago.
...
"Where have all the Nether Wraiths gone?"
Dawn couldn’t stop himself from asking. Although he had killed the Nether Wraith king, that doesn’t mean...
Just as he was about to continue thinking, his figure suddenly stopped in mid-air.
Dawn’s eyes widened in amazement as he stared straight ahead without blinking, as if he blinked, the thing in front of him would disappear.
Some distance away from him stood a giant Ancient gate exuding an otherworldly aura.It was impossibly massive, carved from obsidian-like stone, pulsating with a soft, otherworldly glow. Strange, shifting symbols ran along its surface.
With just a single glance, Dawn identified the gate. It was his ticket to leave this place for good.
Dawn’s breath caught in his throat.
For the first time in what felt like an eternity, hope surged through his veins.
"...I can finally leave!"
With a burst of mana, he shot forward like a meteor, straight toward the gate.
