Chapter 871: Chapter 881: Captain! (Four more)
The old man became anxious in an instant, looking as though he was about to cry. His face was full of pain as he quickly waved his hands at Tang Zhong, saying, "No, no, that’s not allowed! Those crew members won’t let North Sea fishermen like us take the seats!"
"I tried before, and they beat me up. They even said if I made this dirty again, they wouldn’t let me on the ship anymore. This is a ship from the Lucao Kingdom!" the old man said anxiously.
"So you’d better get Xiao Jiu down now!"
"But Xiao Jiu is already asleep!" Tang Zhong replied.
"Ah!" The old man let out a deep sigh.
"I’ll tell them she’s my sister; it’ll be fine!" Tang Zhong said.
The old man was visibly moved when he heard this. "Thank you... This little girl has been on many boats but has never sat on one of these seats. Thank you so much!"
Tang Zhong could tell that the old man was a kind-hearted fisherman.
"You should come sit here too!" Tang Zhong said. "I’ll just say you’re my grandfather!"
Then, Tang Zhong gave a bright smile.
He refused to believe that these Lucao Kingdom crew members would dare to behave the same way after this.
"Really?" the old man asked excitedly.
He was tired, his legs shaking as he stood there.
"I think I’ll pass. Look at these rags I’m wearing!" The old man hesitated, still reluctant to sit down.
"It doesn’t matter!" Tang Zhong murmured. "Come on!"
Tang Zhong pointed to the seat next to him.
The old man still resisted, but Tang Zhong gently pulled him to the seat beside him, and in the end, he sat down.
"This feels good!" The old man exhaled a long, relieved breath.
"If it’s comfortable, just sit tight then!" Tang Zhong said.
The North Sea was also part of Xuan Country’s territory. But on the small islands in the North Sea, there were only fishermen. Whenever they wanted to travel from the islands to Yun City, they had to stand the entire way. As for the people from the Lucao Kingdom, they were probably doing this on purpose.
Since when did people from the Lucao Kingdom dare to look down on people from Xuan Country like this?
At that moment, a few uniformed crew members emerged from the distant cabin and began patrolling the area.
They seemed to be employees on this ship, supposedly conducting safety inspections.
Some seats were occupied by people who simply boarded the ship, took off their shoes, and sprawled across the seats. They appeared to be Lucao Kingdom citizens.
But the crew members didn’t even glance at them, walking right past.
Meanwhile, the crew members noticed Xiao Jiu and the old man sitting next to Tang Zhong, and they came over immediately.
Two crew members, one fat and one thin, dressed in Lucao Kingdom uniforms, glared at Xiao Jiu and bellowed, "You fishermen! Didn’t I warn you that you’re not allowed to sit in the seats? You can only stand outside! What’s going on here?"
The fat crew member stepped forward, raising his hand to slap Xiao Jiu.
Xiao Jiu was still asleep, but the old man, who had woken up by then, stood up in fright upon seeing the crew members. "We... we didn’t mean to sit in the seats!"
When he saw the man about to hit his granddaughter, he shouted desperately, "You can’t hit her!"
"Oh, I can, and I will!" replied the fat Lucao Kingdom crew member.
Just as his palm was about to strike Xiao Jiu’s face, Tang Zhong acted.
With a sharp slap, Tang Zhong struck the fat crew member’s arm.
A scream rang out as the fat crew member was sent flying, landing on the ground with his face twitching in pain.
The other crew member hadn’t expected this scene at all. His face darkened instantly as his gaze shifted from the old man and Xiao Jiu to Tang Zhong. He then pointed at Tang Zhong and shouted, "You... you actually dare to hit someone?! Are you tired of living?!"
The old man was terrified, unable to believe that Tang Zhong had dared to hit someone.
At that moment, because of the disturbance, the surrounding passengers were all drawn to the commotion, turning their gazes in this direction.
There were only a few Xuan Country citizens among them. The majority were from the Lucao Kingdom!
As the group gathered around, they started criticizing Tang Zhong.
"That’s someone from Xuan Country, isn’t it?"
"How rude!"
"Yeah, he even dared to hit one of our Lucao Kingdom citizens. This is a Lucao Kingdom ship! When did Xuan Country people become so brazen?!"
Tang Zhong’s gaze swept across the crowd. He noticed a glaring issue: the physical fitness of these supposed passengers seemed unusually good. They didn’t look like ordinary travelers at all.
But for now, the priority was dealing with the crew member!
The thin crew member stared at Tang Zhong, his eyes burning with anger. "You assaulted someone on this ship. You’re from Xuan Country, right? You’ve now committed an offense against a Lucao Kingdom citizen. I’ll have you arrested and handed over to the Lucao Kingdom for punishment!"
The old man’s face instantly turned pale upon hearing this. "Handed over to the Lucao Kingdom for punishment? That would be disastrous.
"No, absolutely not! Please, crew member, sir, we’re just fishermen from the North Sea. We won’t use your seats anymore. Please let us go this time!"
The old man, being a fisherman, assumed the crew members were highly authoritative.
"Shut up! I’m not talking to you!" the thin crew member yelled at the old man.
Then, looking at Tang Zhong, the thin crew member shouted, "What are you waiting for? Turn yourself in now!"
"I don’t believe we’ve reached the North Sea yet," Tang Zhong replied with a smile. "If we haven’t, then we’re still within Xuan Country’s territory. What grounds do you have to detain me?"
The thin crew member hesitated before retorting, "Bullshit! You assaulted someone on our Lucao Kingdom ship. That’s enough reason to detain you!"
"Then what about the fact that you’re cruising through our territorial waters while refusing to let Xuan Country citizens sit? What do you call that?" Tang Zhong asked.
The thin crew member’s face suddenly darkened. "You talk too much!"
He immediately pulled out a walkie-talkie. "Captain, there’s trouble here!"
Then, glaring at Tang Zhong, the thin crew member shouted, "You’re finished, boy!"
"Come on, show me how I’m finished," Tang Zhong replied lazily. Then, turning to the old man, who was beside himself with worry, he said, "Don’t worry, Grandpa. It’ll be fine!"
Soon enough, after the thin crew member’s call, over twenty crew members poured in from all directions, led by a man who appeared to be the captain.
The captain was a burly man, standing about 1.8 meters tall, with dark skin that marked him as anything but ordinary.
Tang Zhong observed the scene with curiosity. Since when did even ship captains become so imposing?
Coupled with the unusually fit crew members on board, Tang Zhong felt increasingly suspicious about the whole situation.
The captain approached, his expression turning grim as he listened to the thin crew member’s account of the incident. Then, his stern gaze fell on Tang Zhong as he walked over slowly. Unlike the thin crew member, this captain exuded an air of authority as he addressed Tang Zhong, "Who are you, sir? This ship belongs to the Lucao Kingdom, and yet you injured one of our crew. Don’t you think you’ve gone too far?"
