"Silence." Sha Tianyang said coldly.

In Su Chengyu’s hand was a paddle, and he could feel that the imposing aura of Sha Tianyang was strong; he must be a Martial King.

Sha Tianyang seemed to be around the same age as Lee Longqing, the top youth of the Eastern region, but his strength surpassed Lee’s, which sufficiently demonstrated the disparity between Yunzhou and Fengyang.

Su Chengyu remained on guard. He didn’t want trouble, but he was not afraid of it either.

"I’m Sha Tianyang. May I know your names?" Sha Tianyang asked with a slight smile as he clasped his hands together in a formal gesture.

Given this friendly demeanor, Su Chengyu also refrained from treating him with hostility and said, "Su Chengyu, and this is my disciple."

The amiability of the gang captain, however, surprised Su Chengyu. However, what Sha Tianyang said after boarding the boat slightly changed Su Cheng and his previous perceptions of him.

Sha Tianyang turned his head to look at Qin Shian. Qin Shian reflexively lowered his head, but quickly started defending himself, "Captain Shao, I invited them onto the boat, but they refused without gratitude. Su Chengyu couldn’t be bothered to justify; Sha Tianyang should be able to distinguish between truth and lies if he possessed brains. If he chose to believe Qin Shian, then it was merely an excuse to initiate a fight—explaining would be pointless.

"Shian, what did I tell you before you boarded the boat? Repeat it." Shaun Tianyang said.

Qin Shian hurriedly sophistically responded, "Captain Shao, you mustn’t believe this lying wretch. It was them who were rude, so I..."

"I asked you to repeat what I said to you before, are you deaf?"

However, Sha Tianyang responded, "Should you discipline yourself or should I do it for you?"

In spite of showing a dreadful expression, Qin Shian understood that begging for mercy would be in vain upon hearing Sha Tianyang’s words. Qin Shian clenched his left index finger, gritted his teeth, and broke it with a snap. The extreme pain made him scream and break out into a cold sweat.

"Return to the boat." Sha Tianyang said coldly.

After Qin Shian broke his own finger, he shamefully used his Qinggong skill to return to the Shalong Gang boat.

Su Chengyu expressionlessly watched how Sha Tianyang handled the situation. He didn’t utter a single word. Sha Tianyang bowing his hand in respect said, "Brother Su, I sincerely apologize for the improper behavior of my subordinate. I humbly ask for your forgiveness."

"Don’t mention it, Captain Shao." Su Chengyu also clasped his hands and replied.

"From your accent, it seems Brother Su is not from the Southwest Seven Provinces, am I right?" Sha Tianyang asked.

"I come from the East." Su Chengyu answered simply.

"I see. Although I know very little about the East, when I once visited FengYang in the East, I heard about a man named Lee Longqing who is reputed to be the most promising among the younger generation in the East. Would Brother Su happen to know him?" Sha Tianyang asked.

"Captain Shao is too kind. The East is weak in its cultivation, incomparable to Yunzhou. The youthful and promising Captain Shao truly deserves admiration."

Sha Tianyang was polite and did not seem to be the sort that Su Chengyu had initially thought he was: a man who bullied both men and women and acted ruthlessly. As such, Su Chengyu was willing to flatter him with a few compliments.

Avoiding making enemies was always safer while on the road. After all, who can’t say a few nice words?

Sha Tianyang laughed heartily in response and immediately said, "The incident just now was due to my abruptness. I’ve always enjoyed making friends from all over the world. We are brought together by fate, so perhaps you would consider joining me on the boat, as a way of forming a friendship?"

Upon hearing this, Su Chengyu did not immediately respond. Though his impression of Sha Tianyang had changed somewhat, it was still their first meeting after all. People can be unpredictable, and it was always important in Jianghu to be ready for anything.

Su Chengyu contemplated for a moment and was about to refuse when Sha Tianyang, seemingly sensing Su Chengyu’s intention to decline, spoke first, "Brother Su, I truly wish to strike up a friendship and to apologize for my subordinate’s behavior earlier. I ask that you don’t refuse, to give me this little face."

"Brother Su, please." Sha Tianyang extended his hand as he gestured for him to go ahead.

Su Chengyu then took Yu Yanshu’s hand and with a curl of his finger, a wave rose over a meter from the lake. Su Chengyu and Yu Yanshu stepped on the wave and it moved forward, seeming two people riding the wave. This was certainly not something an average person could accomplish.

A sense of surprise flickered in Sha Tianyang’s eyes upon seeing this. As a Martial King, he himself was not capable of such a feat of controlling the waves and stepping on them.
