Chapter 331: Chapter 331: A Reminder for You_1
When Gu Ying opened her eyes, she saw Li Chang wailing in agony on the ground, much to her disbelief and astonishment. She looked at Su Chengyu in disbelief.
Chen Zehao was also taken aback that his henchman was defeated in a single move. But he kept his cool, after all, he had some training too and wasn’t just a paper tiger. A regular person would definitely struggle against him.
"No wonder you dared to play the knight in shining armor. Turns out you have some skills. However, let’s see if you can stay a knight when you go against me, your lord and master."
Chen Zehao clenched his fist and lunged at Su Chengyu, swinging a punch his way. Gu Ying screamed out, "Watch out!"
Su Chengyu looked up. Chen Zehao’s ’skills’ seemed childish in comparison to his own. He effortlessly grasped Chen Zehao’s fist, twisted it downwards, and with a cracking sound, Chen Zehao’s wrist was broken.
Chen Zehao let out a blood-curdling scream, similar to Li Chang. Gu Ying covered her mouth in shock; she had never imagined that her passenger could be so formidable.
"Let go of me! You bastard, do you know who I am? You dare to harm me! I’m telling you, you’re a dead man. No one can save you."
After a few more screams, Chen Zehao glared at Su Chengyu with twisted rage. But rather than being subdued by the broken wrist, he continued to issue crazed threats at Su Chengyu.
Slap!
Su Chengyu backhanded him across the face, causing him to spin on the spot and tumble to the ground.
Gu Ying stood by, her hands covering her mouth, not knowing what to do.
Chen Zehao was dazed by the slap. He was seeing stars and only managed to get up after a while, blood spilling from his mouth and nose, and the palm print visible on his face.
With a flick of his foot, Su Chengyu scooped up the baseball bat, placed it on Chen Zehao’s shoulder and asked, "Still want to extort money?"
At this point, Chen Zehao knew he’d met his match, and remembering the old saying ’discretion is the better part of valor,’ he quickly shook his head and said, "No need."
"Record a video and take some photos of the scene. You can use them as evidence if he reneges on his word later." Su Chengyu said to Gu Ying.
Gu Ying, still dazed, quickly picked up her phone from the ground, took some photos, and with Su Chengyu’s instructions, started filming Chen Zehao.
"Who takes responsibility for the accident today?" Su Chengyu asked indifferently, after putting away the baseball bat.
"I take the responsibility. I changed lanes recklessly and caused the rear-end collision. It’s entirely my fault, it has nothing to do with the car behind," Chen Zehao admitted.
"Since it’s your responsibility, compensate her," said Su Chengyu.
Despite his raging anger, Chen Zehao didn’t dare get tough with Su Chengyu anymore. He quickly went to his car, took out two stacks of cash and handed it to Gu Ying as compensation.
"I ... I don’t want it. I can pay for my insurance."
Gu Ying waved her hands, not daring to take Chen Zehao’s money.
"Just take it, stop the bullshit!" Chen Zehao lowered his voice and snarled at her.
Gu Ying looked at Su Chengyu, who said, "It’s his responsibility, he should pay you for the car repairs. Just take it."
"It won’t cost this much to fix it."
Gu Ying wasn’t greedy, and though the two stacks of cash would take her a few months to earn, she knew that this money didn’t come easily. She just took a few hundred yuan from the stack.
"Five hundred is enough; I can’t accept more." Gu Ying said cautiously.
Su Chengyu said to Chen Zehao, "Listen, my name is Su Cheng. If you want revenge, come find me at the Emperor Cheng International Hotel. Don’t trouble her. I have no connection to her, besides being her passenger. I just couldn’t stand you throwing your weight around and causing an accident which wasted my time."
Chen Zehao remained silent, his half-closed eyes flashed with spite.
Of course, he wouldn’t let this matter rest and made a mental note of Su Chengyu’s name and residence.
"Get lost."
Chen Zehao and Li Chang scrambled into the car and drove away quickly.
"Brother Hao, what should we do next? We must take revenge!" Li Chang felt that his leg was ruined and he could not walk at all.
"Damn it! That bastard, how dare he hit me! I will chop off his hands and feet, and dismember him! As for that bitch, I won’t let her go either!"
Chen Zehao’s face twisted in rage as he drove the car single-handedly, cursing and seething with fury.
"We cannot let them get away. I memorized the license plate of that woman’s car. I’ll have someone look up her details later, then we’ll grab her and leave her disposal to you." Li Chang said.
At the intersection, Gu Ying didn’t expect the situation to be solved so easily by Su Chengyu. She was grateful to him; otherwise, she wouldn’t have known what to do.
Those two men were clearly out of her league.
"Mr. Su, thank you. If it wasn’t for your help, I... I really wouldn’t know what to do. I am sorry to have troubled you." Gu Ying bowed in gratitude.
"It was nothing major," Su Chengyu simply said.
"Then please get in the car. I will take you to your destination," Gu Ying offered.
"No need, I can take a taxi. Just a reminder, those two guys probably have some pull. They will seek revenge, for sure. You might be in danger too. They can easily find your info with your license plate number. Be careful."
After saying these words, Su Chengyu called a taxi from the roadside and left.
Meeting an old classmate from over a decade ago in Jiangyang, and encountering such an incident — generally, he wouldn’t pay too much attention to someone like Chen Zehao.
Even if Chen Zehao had a strong background, he didn’t care. After all, he was just using a fake name.
As for Gu Ying, she might or might not face retaliation. After all, she was innocent in this matter and didn’t raise a hand. It’s unlikely that she would be a particular target.
He’d already redirected the hatred and anger onto himself and even warned Gu Ying about it.
Considering they weren’t on good terms back in high school, Su Chengyu believed he had already done more than enough for her.
Seeing Su Chengyu just leave like that, Gu Ying was taken aback for a while before hurrying back to her car, ready to return it to the company.
While Gu Ying remembered Su Chengyu’s warning, she held out hope that, since she didn’t really get involved in the situation, it wouldn’t have much to do with her.
As for Su Chengyu, she saw him as a well-meaning person with a strong sense of justice and hoped that nothing would happen to him.
Gu Ying was very aware that in today’s society, there weren’t many people like Su Chengyu who were so driven by righteousness. Most people would mind their own business and not invite trouble.
That’s not to say that’s the wrong approach. After all, everyone has their own struggles, and acting the hero or getting involved in other people’s affairs often comes with a price.
With the decline in moral standards and the current state of society, it makes people like Su Chengyu, who stand up for justice, all the more commendable.
Gu Ying was thankful to have met such a good person today.
